Yea seems like it will replace the old ddj SR2 $739 but at least the Rev5 has 2 laptop USBs for easy b2b/change overs. I'm so used to hardware effects using the SRT (the best quality & portability) hopefully rev9 will be the answer to Rane Four.. now with stems split 4 ch faders makes way more sense then using 2 faders for 4 channels 🙈
Agreed I was hoping this would be LESS than $1,000 let alone $1,100 LOL 😆 As we all know, ya gotta pay the “Pioneer DJ tax” 🤷🏾♂️😂. I have the RANE ONE which I love and I bought the DDJ-REV1 as an upgrade to my DDJ-SB3 doing service as my workhorse unit…and I would bring the RANE ONE to special events. I’ve put my order in for the Rev5 on Tuesday can’t wait until it arrives. DDJ-REV1 $279, DDJ-REV5 $1,099 & DDJ-REV7 $1,999 makes the REV line complete, much like DJM-S5, S7 and S11 or the FLX-4, FLX-6 and FLX-10 DDJ-FLX10 as the direct competitor to the RANE Four. I like them both but, personally I ALWAYS run an external 6 Channel Mixer (10 Channels for other events) never had use for a 4 Channel controller…and I’m definitely not mixing 4 different tracks either!? LOL PIONEER DJ has definitely dropped a ton of heat this year.
Now we know why it's been so hard for Pioneer DJ to keep the REV-7 in stock. They split the production. I like this version. I was just about to order a REV-7 as I was back and forth about the spinning jog wheels (I don't trust the spinning jog wheels) because they are not quit the same as spinning platters (The RANE One). This is more what I prefer. I still have a great set of Turntables, so I don't need my controller to feel like turntables.
You make a VERY GOOD point. To me the RANE ONE with it’s platters, spindles etc. are more robust in it’s design than the Rev7’s motorized jogs 🤷🏾♂️ slip rings and plastic tops that click into the motorized sections…. I like Pioneer DJ products but, I love my RANE too I’m cool using the Serato effects, but RANE dropped the ball there it needed the basic FX from the RANE 70. I’m holding on to my ONE until the MK2 is released hopefully in a few years LOL 😆 w/hardware effects. I also ordered the DDJ-REV5 earlier this week.
I’m ultra excited about the DDJ-REV5! It’s literally everything that I’ve been looking for as you mentioned as a “workhorse” unit which currently for me in my DDJ-REV1. I already have the RANE ONE as my flagship device so I don’t need 2, my desire was for something that had more professional features than my Rev1 like RGB lights, XLR connectivity, the Magvel fader along with Rekordbox support are definitely a huge bonus! I placed my preorder for this beautiful 🤩 device on Tuesday 8.15.2023 and can’t wait for it to arrive so I can practice on it and then start taking her out to my events. Pioneer DJ should sell a grip of these
