I live just down the street from the original Porto's in Glendale where it all started in the 60s. Try the beef empanadas and the croquettes if you're there again.
Now we see the continuation of the walk to Hollywood sign. " What you guys will eat?" There you go! Good looking place! And that display of cakes was painfully delicious to see! I don't eat meat these days, but your choices look like a tease. Very appealing!
LA area is very known for creating locally great food places and popular ones create a second, then third location, so on. Then becomes a big chain. Portos, Urth Caffe, Roscoes, king taco, original Tommy's, in n out, eggslut, lemonade, are just some very popular chains that began in the greater LA area.
Excellent choice Jaycation to take Action Kid to a L.A. staple. I have been going to Porto’s for many ,many years lucky to have this place so close to me. Thanks for making me hungry. Lol. 🤤
Porto’s is one of the busiest places in LA no matter the location. Reasonable prices too. We always order the tiramisu cake when it’s someone’s birthday. I love the chocolate croissants but wonder why they stopped selling the midnight sandwich which is like the Cubano but on a sweeter bread. The potato balls and cheese rolls as Jay says are the most popular things. Cubano is just ok for me.
No Cuban spot in Vegas is even remotely close to how good the Porto's Cuban Sandwich is. We visited Disneyland from Las Vegas and stopped at Porto's, had some Cuban Sandwich's, guyaba and cheese pastry, and Papa Rellena. One of the best brunch's Ive ever had in my life.
My go-to fav place, but in Glendale. Love all their stuff. The mango cake is amazing, as well,as their coconut. Thanks for this AK, I actually get them mailed to me frozen and I bake them. Go Portos...
Family usually gets birthday cakes here. So rich. I like the fruit tart cakes. Guava pastries, creme logs are good. Potatoe balls good. But desserts are ace.
YES, I'm so glad you got to try Porto's before leaving LA! 🤩 The food looked so yummy and glad you guys enjoyed the food. The guava pastry, cheese rolls, tres leche cake, and etc are also good. Thanks to Jaycation for taking AK to Porto's and for recommending the potato ball! 😀

Nothing special about it, it's just location wise it's in the good side of Pasadena, los angels ppl likes to follow trends! Even if you sell fully pillow LA ppl just follow, they dont know how to original. Good to the street tacos shop all over LA, thos got the best taste and flavor hands down. Bet you won't go there huh, cause you like the Hollywood trend
nice. porto's is the best.
Love Portos
Still dreaming of that tostada… oops i mean torta! Potatoe Balls FTW!

The Original Portos is in Glendale on Brand Ave.

When Jay said tostada 😂 I was like, 'That don't look like a tortilla shell.' 😅 Portos is always a good idea! ❤😊

Jaycation again. Back to duty
Since you're in LA walk into any Mexican restaurant and ask for a "Torta Cubana" now that's a real sandwich 🥪👌
Jays sandwich looks yummy!!!!
Yeah I'm jealous. Lol 🥪 🌮 🍽
That Torta looks Juicy
that food looked amazing and i would definitely get really fat in that store and stay at least an hour as fast as i eat!
Were they sold out of the cheese rolls? I would have liked to see them 🔥
The cheese roll is their most popular item. They don’t run out. I think jay bought a box for his parents.
Now I want to eat 😬
Wait. They ate in Little Tokyo then a few hours later they were eating at Portos? 🤔
After watching thus I had room make my in sandwich 🥪 😋 😂
Damn Im starving and all I have to eat is leftover sausage and eggs.
Good Tuesday Evening AK

No. I don’t do lines. My family gave me a cake from there. It was delicious.
JUST CALL IT A HAM AND CHEESE! lol
The white meat in the sandwich is also pork but not cured. I think it's fresh ham?
Is Jay's last name O'Neil?
You shoulda gone to VERSAILLES Cuban restaurant in Los Angeles. Better than Porto's, bro.
Hey guys!What's up?
