My husband John and I are 75 this year. I just had my 75th B-day in February and Johns is in June. We have been following you guys for about a year now. But I don't think I've ever commented or liked your posts. LOVE your shows and plan to keep on following! You are both so cute! We have a lot of fun and laughs watching! ❤️
In a perfect world where calories don't exist I would eat those pastries daily. Breads, sweets, pastries are my weakness. Thanks for sharing another wonderful food adventure ❤
I remember the original on Brand Blvd in Glendale. We used to go for lunch and they'd send us to the back where a baker would stop what he was doing to make us ham or turkey with Swiss on fresh croissants. We used to get sweet pastries and those wonderful meat pies for meetings at work.
Worked up the street from their OG store in Glendale in the 90s. Oh My, the flan and pastries brought back memories of when I went there. Thanks for the review.
10:25 After watching this presentation, I added up the cost of these items and it came out to $10.78. Ran the numbers twice and still came to the same. Fantastic deal for what I saw as a tasty and abundant treat. Luv your presentations!
We regularly visited Porto's when we lived in LA and is definitely one of the things I miss about living in Southern California. I have been to several of their locations are they are all fantastic - the line can be long but it moves fast and is worth it. The pastries, sandwiches, plates and savory pastries are all delicious and the price point is reasonable. The guava and guava cheese pastries are my favorite and the cheese rolls are wonderful too. The coconut strudel is a must if you like coconut! I am going to have to order some of their bake at home offerings. The Trader Joe's cheese pastries are pretty good in a pinch. Thanks for another great video!
Glad you visited the Buena Park one - the one close by to Knott’s Berry Farm. Porto’s is absolutely delicious. My family has gotten whole cakes from them for special occasions, and their cakes do not disappoint. There’s a reason why Porto’s is always busy.
Hey guys you need to go to Luisa and Sons Philipino bakery. There are several locations in LA. Great video guys! My only Porto’s suggestion is buy them by the dozen!. Meat potato and chicken empanada. The cheese and guava desserts are awesome as well!
What sets Bill and Lisa apart from the rest of the influencers? Simple. When Bill looks at his bite and says, "it's looks a little long and stubby!" 13:30 The laughs make every video pure entertainment!
That food not only looks amazing, but the price is great too! If when I go to Disneyland in September, it is not at downtown Disney yet, I will make the trip to Buena Park to check them out. Thanks god another fun video 😃
Hi Bill & Lisa!! I love your channel and you both sure make me very hungry watching you go to nice restaurants and eat so well! You both are so cute 🥰! Thank you so much for your lovely videos! You both need to be food critics because you both really know your foods. 😂😂 Take care both of you! God bless! 🙏🏼❤️
Love Porto's, been to that one. I met up with the manager and he gave us a tour behind the scenes. What a great time we had. Try to see if you two can do the same.
The cheese in the cheese roll reminds me of the filling in a cheese danish. The quesadilla reminds me of a pound cake. Everything is so reasonably priced and great quality. I never mind waiting in line, it gives me time to enjoy picking out what I want!
THANKS FOR SHARING ANOTHER AWESOME VIDEO WITH PLENTY OF DELICIOUS LOOKING FOOD. SO HAPPY YOU BOTH ENJOYED ALL THE FOOD. KEEP UP THE MAGNIFICENT WORK 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁👍🏼🕺💃
I lived in buena park. In 1965. I lived right Down the street from Knott's Berry farm. It wasn't fenced in or anything. You could just walk right in and wander around.
Great vlog.. Great to see Porto's up close. We went there on a recommendation from our son during our trip to California last year. But, it was impossible to park and the line was out the door so we left and went down the street to IHOP. Now I wish we waited it out.
They have great breakfast sandwiches and I like mine on Cuban bread. Their french toast is awesome too, served with cream cheese. The prices are reasonable. It is a beautiful display case.
Another great video!! Always seen this place but never stopped to try. Food looked good especially the pastries 🍰 😋 guava jelly flavor looked good😊😊 I use guava jelly on toast😊😊😊 glad you enjoyed it❤❤❤ cant wait to see your next adventure 😊😊😊
We can’t believe you don’t come here more often. First place we go after leaving the airport! We grab a bottle of Cuban coffee for each morning and croquettes for breakfast. If we stay DVC we have a way to heat them up. They taste just as good cold. I try to make the carmel cookies last for our entire trip…I usually fail. 😂 My favorite croquettes are the turkey ones in the fall. I just ordered some to be delivered to us in Chicago. Love your videos!
Hi Bill! Hi Lisa! We absolutely LOVE Porto’s! The one in West Covina is quite large as well. The lechon plato is my hubbies’ favorite. We also love the pan con lechon, the cubano, and my favorite is the rustic chicken salad. Pre pandemic, Porto’s had so many more desserts. I wish they’d bring back the little two-bite desserts for parties. Thank you for sharing folks! I cannot wait to see where your next adventure takes us! 🥰
Portos. New to me. The Le Chong, chung. The pork with the rice looked awesome. Another place to try out. I think Portos will be a great addition to Disney.❤🎉🎉
Ok you know I love your videos I usually love the sweets but those savory balls looked wonderful and first plate of food with the plantains and beans and meat yum ok forget that give me that fruit tart I hope you guys have a great weekend ❤😊
I was thinking after I saw your Bob's Big Boy vlog when you guys will do a Porto's revisit. Wished Porto's would open a bakery/cafe in the Bay Area. Everything looks delicious. My daughter shipped a variety of baked goods to me for Mothers Day. But I would love to physically be there for the experience. Thanks again for another tasty episode. Can't wait to see where you fly to on your next vlog.
Hi Guys 🌺 , so glad you went to Porto’s one of our favorite spots to visit , we went on a week day and omg , we waited in line 🙈 but so worth it , have not tried the dishes you guys had except for the potato balls so yummy I got home and tried to duplicate , I agree with Lisa that fresh fruit tart is my number one desert , however anything you get is going to be a awesome eat , everybody we saw had bags and bags including us lol and opening at downtown Disney what a treat , again 👍👍👍
Hi Bill and Lisa 🙋♀️ Yaaay! Portos! I live in a "dangerous" area 🤣🤣... i'm almost exactly halfway between the Downey and Buena Park Portos! You guys should come this way and go bakery hopping: Portos, 85c, Paris Baguette, Tous Les Jours, The Bakery & Cafe, maybe Cheesetella (not a full bakery, but various castella cakes), Yozm Donut.
Porto's has a spot here in my city of West Covina. I have yet to go as it is always so crowded. I think I will give it a go today. I have had several items from work pot lucks and they do not disappoint.
We love you guys … Porto’s is the best . I wish you would have spoken just a little about there history. There Cuban heritage and story. That’s important when you’re talking about a family own bakery. The original location is in Glendale.
Hey Lisa!!!!! Your hair looks good! Hey Bill !!!!! Your hair looks cool 😎 Those Savory buns look good, so do the sweets 🍬🍬 🍦 🍦 Lucky for you guys to have them near you? And they do ship anyware. Im guessing in the USA? 🇺🇸 Have a Great evening guys 🌙 ❤ 😊
My husband and I go to that location. We enjoy having the savory and sweet items. I have to stop myself from ordering so much. 😂 Sometimes we order just enough so I can freeze them. 😊
I go to the one in West Covina and the lines sometimes go outside the door. The good part is they are VERY EFFICIENT, kinda like IN n OUT. What day and time did you visit? That's the LEAST amount of people I've seen at a Porto's in over 2 decades visiting different locations. 🙂
@@billandlisa I’m flying to Sicily this summer and look forward to trying an authentic Italian cannoli! Can I share a pic with you guys? I’ll get a pic of me savoring it 😋!

Hi Bill,Lisa Wow that all looked awesome. Yummy. The prices were right. I could eat things like those every day. Take care guys.
I am lucky to live close by 3 Porto’s locations. West Covina 2.6 mi, Buena Park 13.2 mi , &
Downey 13.5 mi. You
can order unbaked
shipped to you. 😅

Interesting! Different times for sure.
As a Cuban from Miami we call the strudels “pastelitos”.
It was so weird seeing the labels say strudels.
The flan looked amazing. Looked very creamy.
Awe guys, that cheese ‘n guava pastry looks die for! Yummy to the highest power! 🤤 😋
Agreed!
Wow!! Porto’s looks AMAZING!!! When I glanced at the title, for a moment I thought you guys were in Portugal.

Potato balls and cheese rolls are my favorite. You can get Porto's specialties mail order shipped to anywhere in the mainland US.

My fave, a best kept secret - the dulce de leche besito cookies

Happy Wednesday, Christine!
Porto looks fantastico😵
Portos Pastries are amazing. This location is extremely extremely busy and crowded on the weekends. I recommend a weekday visit if you can.
Great video...something I would order from Porto's...heard lots of positive reviews from their establishment ...safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗❤
Thanks Jade!
Yum can't wait to order
Ok this is my kind of video haha, I am a huge pastry lover and I have a huge sweet tooth 😍😋 omg everything looked amazing I wanted to eat my iPad 😂
It's as good as it looked! Now we're in the mood for cheese rolls. lol

We totally agree! Easy to get carried away. lol
If I was near a Porto's, i would by a lot.😊
The shrimp croquet probably had vera Cruz sauce inside. Looks 😋
Cuban use sofrito, onions peppers, garlic and tomato sauce and spices
The empanada reminds me of a corner's pasty. Although I'm sure the flavor is much much different.. 20:48
Thanks for review, I will check their web site for online purchases. I would like try the guava pastry.
It's so good!
I wish we had Porto in Hawaii
One of our places to eat!

Think we went on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
In that kind of cannoli spin-off desert is it cream cheese or ricotta? Looks mighty tasty!
Cannoli's have a much thicker crunchier shell, where as the cheese roll pastry is very delicate. Both are great though!
@@billandlisa I’m flying to Sicily this summer and look forward to trying an authentic Italian cannoli! Can I share a pic with you guys? I’ll get a pic of me savoring it 😋!

The way I describe guava is an earthy tasting strawberry. I think the nectar/juice is very polarizing because it can taste like dishwater or damp basement, the way that people who don't like cilantro/coriander because to them (and this is hereditary) it tastes like soap. So sometimes the mineral taste can be a turn off. Sometimes having nectar super iced or cold can get rid of that.
