If you watch the "live in Austin" Tennessee whiskey You can see he is singing it to his wife the way he looks at her while hes singing this song Is deep... Also that is his wife harmonizing with him
He plays the guitar, and the band plays the rest. There is a group of musicians getting behind an amazing singer. And yes, there is another woman singing.
Live from Austin with this song is 🔥 H.E.R. And Chris did Hold On few weeks ago on the CMT award show. It was 🤯 Suggest Barely Alive and Death Row too. He does different genres and can do any genre. He has been successful song writer for years, met his wife Morganna and she said why don’t you sing your own songs. The rest is history.
When reacting to Chris Stapleton..always watch live videos... Recorded are great but live are even better every time... 😁 .... Chores done. Please react to Sometime I Cry. Live at the Bing Lounge. by Chris Stapleton.
He is awesome he writes his own music yes he has done covers too but primarily he sings what he writes he sings with his wife Morgane please continue your peek at his music I promise he will keep you surprised and not disappoint. He has his own style lane like another artist Teddy Swims their ability to lure you in and make you a fan is almost guaranteed by listening.
Your next CS reaction should be ''I was wrong'' or ''Sometimes I cry''. But make sure you let the whole song ''I was wrong'' play out because his full talent will show! My favorite song of his is ''Either Way''. Ps... He's from Kentucky!
Oh, he's totally singing to his wife. They have five kids together. Watch the video for this song live at Austin City Limits and watch how they look at each other (that's her singing with him). He's always even better live over studio versions, with the exception of his video for "Fire Away," which underscores the message of awareness about mental health. As far as his style ... yes, he has more music like this, but he is a blend of soul, blues, country and ... whatever he wants to be. He can (and has done) straight up country, but you can't define his genre. He has BEASTLY vocals when he wants. Try, "I Was Wrong," live at Austin City Limits and you will see his mad guitar skills, as well as experiencing the vocals. "Cold," "Death Row," "It's a Man's World," "Drink You Away" (with Justin Timberlake), "Sometimes I Cry," "Would You?) with P!NK, "Watch You Burn" (a message to the Vegas shooter.) "Arkansas" is up-tempo Southern rock. Go down this rabbit hole - he is crazy good, versatile and unexpected. BTW, this is a cover of a song that came out in the 70s, so he didn't write this one. Although he has over 170 writing credits, including 6 number ones for other people. He's worked with Adele, Beyonce, Timberlake ... just ... keep going. You opened the door on someone special!
You have to listen to the 2015 CMA awards duet with Justin Timberlake!!! PHENOMENAL!!!! He was born in Lexington, KY. His wife, Morgane Stapleton sings backup. He was a songwriter for others until his wife encouraged him to sing himself. And yes; he plays guitar.
I love Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort, Captain Morgan, Brandy, (Moscato) Wine, Red Wine, and Jose Cuervo!! Oh yeah, and Chris Stapletons Tennessee Whiskey!!
He's talking about his wife, and she sings with him on stage all the time. He has sung with many good ones already, including J.T. He's already very popular bc of his "soul" sound.
@UCWcEnHiY-qDPvGmNTb6pDmg yes it's a cover of a old song ,but people seem to refer GEORGE JONES and not to ETTA JAMES (original) .I'm well aware that CHRIS is a great performer singer songwriter, and that's the reason I clicked on because I love his voice and this cover. I'm also SUSCRIBED to this channel. to my knowledge he has never acknowledged that this is a cover of I'D RATHER GO BLIND, ETTA JAMES 1967, he has stated in the past that this tune came about when he and his band where jamming before a gig ,and he has performed it ever since. and BTW he never wrote the lyrics either. Great singer songwriter he is but not great enough to acknowledge the true history of this song.
To NOEL CATANZARO . oh dear your post in reply to my original comment above has been deleted, nothing to get upset about , but hey you'll get over it, l think?
@@tomwhite4736 deleted because I didn't want to get into the whole appropriation of cultures and all that bullshit. To Tom White , I know you think you are dropping some knowledge on people with something you googled and everyone is supposed to jump on that bandwagon. I was putting the vinal of stormy weather on a record player over 50 years ago. Still have all those blues albums ! So I guess I'm glad you are looking into music from my era.
He was a Ghost Rider for like 10 12 years writing big hits for big people and recently at the VMAs Justin Timberlake came out to sing Chris song with Chris
the woman you can hear in the background is now his wife, she is the one he is singing to, she saved him from the bottle, and yes he plays the guitar and considers this country blues, next song i would recommend is "sometimes i cry"
Just subbed today and I've watched about 20 of your videos today. I'm enjoying your style of reacting. Chris Stapleton is amazing. Another one of my favorites. Keep it up. I recommend "Either Way"
Chris is amazing and can sing any genre. That is him playing the guitar. His wife, Morgan, is singing harmony. Chris has severe stage fright and she keeps him grounded. So glad you enjoyed this one! If you have the chance, listen to Teddy Swims.
He plays the guitar on this and he harmonizes with his wife, Morgane. If you do more reactions, make sure you catch his live performances, so much better than the studio versions.
I'm a whiskey guy, fine bourbon and rye to be exact. You know, the quintessential Americana. Now, I don't normally spout off on UA-cam with anything serious, but you seem like you might actually be interested, so I'mma say my piece. Country and Hip Hop aren't strangers. Hell, they are siblings, they grew up together. As far back as the 17th century, American Blues has been a thing. This Blues thing is like Ghengis Khan ... the seed is spread far and wide. Blues got around if you know what I mean. So one of Mr. Blues' women was Mrs. Bluegrass. This Scotch-Irish woman raised that child, and it became the country sound we know today. Blues + Bluegrass + a bit of Irish Folk Music = Country. Another young lady who had a tryst with Mr. American Blues was named Jazz. They had a mess of kids. Soul, Motown, R&B, and dare I say the Funk are all from this magnificient litter. So when country throws in a hard beat, or starts to sound bluesy ... or when hip hop tosses in an Irish jig or soaring vocals... it's all in the same family. It's just the way it should be.
George was the second artist to do this song but the Possum had the most success from it until Chris. The first was David Allan Coe but he didn't wright it either. Linda H Bartholomew & Dean Dillon wrote the song.
I’m from Alabama & I prefer Tennessee Whiskey. Roll Tide tho. Not a fan of modern country but this sure hits different. He’s as sweet as strawberry wine for his wife singing with him. It’s beautiful.
If you're about to go down the STAPLETON rabbit hole.... I TOTALLY ENVY YOU....I remember my FIRST time....!!!!! ENJOY....!!!!! Try SOMETIMES I CRY...I WAS WRONG(LIVE)...ITS A MANS WORLD(LIVE)....ET AL.....YOU WILL LOVE🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 ALL OF THEM ...BTW... GREAT REVIEW...AS USUAL....!!!!...AND I PREFER BOURBON , SCOTCH ....OR RYE....
His wife is harmonizing. I show up as Steve because my husband has been messin with my youtube account, that being said I am Phyllis not Steve and I have just now, today found you🥴🥴. He is from Kentucky and since just today I found your channel, sweetheart have you reacted to him and Justin Timberlake doing this live at the CMA'S live💙🙏
Chris has a new album out you might like to listen too, it’s called “ Starting Over”. This album will show his range of music styles. My favorites are “The Devil always makes me Think Twice”, Cold” and “ Arkansas “. Check it out.
He is playing his guitar in all his song and his wife is harmonizing in the background with him,and he is from Kentucky, also go watch him and justin timberlake do this song.
His wife sang with him but I think he take any song and make it sound better if r&b blues rock or any other type of music he is a song writer he's from Kentucky
Just saw your review. . I had hers this about 5v years ago and saw Patty label perform this In Brooklyn three years ago to 90% Black Audience nad could see ths
The shock on the faces of the Black audience was a shock they couldn't understand why she would be signing a country song especially when she sang the lyrics with Tennesse whisky. Loved it because I heard Steve Ray Vaughn sing it. I also recommend Steve Ray Vaugh's song called Tin Pan Ally amazing guitar and vocals.
This man is amazing and I never tire of watching people react to him for the first time! If you’re interested in a female with “some pipes”, please check out Linda Ronstadt. She was the first female to sell out arenas (in the 70’s). Her catalogue spans forty years and covers multiple genres. This was written as country. George Straight turned it down. David Allen Cole recorded it along with many others. No one has done it like Chris Stapleton. He owns this song. No one can top this
He harmonizes with his wife, & yes that's him playing the guitar!! He's from Kentucky. Awesome musician!!☺️

All Chris Stapleton songs are Badass!
I agree 100%. I too love how he and his wife look at each other.
Chris stapleton is one of the few singers that sound better live than studio
He plays the guitar, and the band plays the rest. There is a group of musicians getting behind an amazing singer. And yes, there is another woman singing.
I call this Country Blues. He is worth your time checking out more of his stuff!
Every one of his songs are Badass!

This is a rip off, of I'd rather go blind.ETTA JAMES 1967.
He is a good enough guitar player to play in any band and a good enough singer to go gold with the alphabet. Just saying. Keep grinding my guy.

Do Chris Stapleton "It's a Man's World". You'll be shocked. James Brown would be proud.

“Whiskey and You” is a unique view. He’s an excellent story teller! He’ll take right along, every step of the way.
He writes most of his music, but he didn't write this. He's singing to his wife(they have 5 kids). He's very soulful & bluesy!!
Chris stapleton could sing the phone book and it would chart
I love Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort, Captain Morgan, Brandy, (Moscato) Wine, Red Wine, and Jose Cuervo!! Oh yeah, and
Chris Stapletons Tennessee Whiskey!!
Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake at 2015 CMA AWARDS.

That's Chris on the guitar 🎸
That strawberry wine takes me back to high school drinking Boones Farm out of the bottle.
Me too and I got so sick on it.
Great guitarist, songwriter, composer.
Usually his wife harmonizing while he sings to her.
