While Chris didn’t write this, he is a great writer. That’s how he started. He suffers stage fright. He watches his wife to calm him down. He started performing at the request of his wife…every great man has a great woman yall. 💥❤️🎶🔥🙌🏻
Was originally David Allan Coe, then George Jones. I don't support Allan coe. But I'd love for them to listen to the Steeldrivers (Chris was their singer for a good while).
He does not suffer from stage fright!! He does not look at Morgane to settle him down. He was performing BEFORE he met and married Morgane. Please stop spreading false UA-cam myths. Do some research and get your facts straight. 🙄
Exactly!! Just because someone is from the South or wears a cowboy hat does not make an specific song country. I have to push back on the people who say the Allman Brothers are Southern Rock--because of where they are from or the slight accent, but they are almost straight blues--and they would tell you that to your face.
I respect him even more because he worked to become relevant. Small shows, clubs, bars. No tik tok or fake stuff. Chris is as real as they come in 2023. God Bless you CS.
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge Morgan. Chris is arguably one of the greatest singers of our time and Morgan can hold her own signing along side him. Makes you wonder what she could do as the lead on her own song.
The blues began in the Mississippi Delta. I grew up in Memphis and this is the sound of Memphis that influences country music. Country music includes rock, blues, and bluegrass.
I have to agree with the younger dude, older country music and blues are a mirror image of one another. Both genres are great storytelling of regular blue collar people and their struggles. Songs about love, family and the lord. It’s a shame that their fan bases are often at odds with one another. New country music is NOT even close to classic country music.
My daddy told me years ago music unites us all if you allow it...to me the blues is the black country music and country is white blues music...its all about where your raised...lol I probably didn't express it correctly hope it's taken like I mean.
Bob mob But brother brother why shouldn't be embarrassed because it's a pretty popular It's so popular that there's a group called a confederate railroad They went and done a song about it. Brother let's call trashy women and Confederate rep. Confederate railroad. Confederate reho the Brighton home bring home trashy trashy women. Get on the railroad brother Confederate railroad. Take you home to try she's try. Drive she women.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Mr. Older Black Man in the middle of the screen - you and I are groovin'. Your reaction matched mine 100%. You're hooked into the same universe that I am. 👍
I’ve enjoyed you fellows and your feelings for this great Singer and Song. My soul goes inside out when I hear Chris Stapleton sing.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The same night he sang the song I was wrong if you haven't reacted you need to ASAP❤❤❤ also sometimes I cry by Chris Stapleton will make you cry a grown man cry😢 this man is a once-in-a-lifetime vocalist❤❤❤ blessings and happy holidays from Canada😊
Chris is more blues than country, IMO. He has a lot of great stuff but one you should definitely check out is his performance of "Cold" on the CMA awards. Another great artist that sometimes mistakenly gets labeled as country is Jason Isbell, who is more Americana/blues.
Bros, you got to see him do james brown its a mans world. He tears it up. Also whipping post by the Allman Bros. Its such fire it even killed smokey the bear!
You are so right the older 60-70’s country is the best ! Now days the country is country pop music ! And Alabama is fantastic ! Enjoyed the reaction !❤
Brother man in the middle was vibing so cool had me doing it,his smile was just as powerful ❤ loved his reactions made me feel good.thank you for sharing.
There's nothing like an outstanding performance, live. I believe I read where this performance was named the "Diamond" award for Tennessee Whiskey by the Country Music Association (or something like that). It was the performance to which all others are held to standard. It's the best! Thank you!
Welcome to The Chris fan club. He has so many good songs- most that that he has written. "Sometimes I Cry" @ the Bing Lounge, "I was Wrong" Austin City Limits performance, "Cold" CMAs, "Death Row" Wanna Get Stoned" are some good ones to start with. Covers "This Is A Man's World" live, "Whipping Post"
It's great to know you love listening to Chris he's a great songwriter and singer, husband, and father very humble man. Kindly listen to him singing Cold.
He's awesome. He and Meagan together are the real deal. His music goes back many years and he's written MANY songs for other artists. Nothing about him is average. He has a special voice and knows how to use it.
I've watched several reaction channels. Chris Stapleton has been at the forefront of a lot of them. Bringing people, no matter the background, together. Great reaction!!😊
George Jones sang this back in the day. I love the way Chris does it so much better. I was raised on the George Jones version. My momma was a huge country and western fan.
No matter what kind of music you like...when we hear someone with true talent, it doesn't matter the genre of music, we recognize talent, soul, passion, and authenticity. This song is reminiscent of the love songs of the 60s and 70s (Motown) in which they sing of what love does for them. It's not like music of today which is more about sex. Listen up youngsters, if you want a woman to be hot for you, then play them songs like this one. Most people in the USA consider Chris Stapleton as a country singer, but he is so much more! This man sings with soul, passion, and pure heartbreak. He has pure Soul in that gritty voice with an incredible blend of Country, Blues, R&B, and even some jazz drumming from his drummer. Loving the band, especially the harmonica. I think all music would be improved with the addition of a harmonica but that's just me. His runs are all different, and yet, each sounds amazing. I am not much a fan of country music but this man will bring me to country singing like that. There is another country, R&B combo that hits me in the heart and soul. Please listen to it and do a reaction, I think you'll love it. "Conway Twitty ft. Sam Moore - A Rainy Night in Georgia". You'll love me after listening to it.
Achy- breaky heart! LOL! That's like my go- to song for random silliness, especially in a work situation or something. And I WILL tap my ankle and knee while I shuffle to the side. Chris Stapleton.. Yeah wow, he's something else. Especially live. "Fool me again" you should watch, if ever there was soulful country/ bluegrass (not sure what to call it), that's it.
Chris Stapleton is a Musician's Musician. 'Nuff Said. Thank you guys for your channel! Seems like always dong the right thing. I know you two Greybeards had some grounding in real blues and in old-time R&B -- it shows. Cheers!
Hell to tha yeah guys...all geahandras change over time.."or however you spell it"..but country..with there stories..and blues..with there soul..will forever stand the test of time..and that's why they are integrated..they from the same place..different. But..similar..and sure do sound GOOD together...62 year old former marine from south carolina
For another great Blues band, I recommend the Allman Brothers. Solid BLUES! One Way Out from Live At the Fillmore. They are one of the most iconic blues bands of all time. ❤
Great reaction on Chris from all three of you guys. I have to agree it sounded like Soul/blues to me, but with a country twang. Made for a beauitiful mix. Really enjoyed your thoughts thank you.
Yes I have CCR is one of my favorite bands I grew up listening to CCR and a lot of other great 60’s and 70’s bands and I do not think that it would be a good sound for Chris to do anything of CCR and the song Tennessee whiskey is a song that should be left to George Jones or David Allan cole this is my opinion. 😊
There is a real good mashup of Chris Stapleton , TW, and Angelina Jordan, I’d Rather Go Blind. She just turned 12, sitting on her couch recording with her new mic, and she is freekin phenomenal!
Chris Stapleton's Concert's are absolutely amazing. A few "old style" classic country songs I hope you find are like George Straight's Amarillo By Morning , and the new ones like "Zac Brown Band - Highway 20 Ride", Old Dominion's "One Man Band", and Darius Rucker's "If I Told You" All story telling and are about life, one more :) This one, Jamey Johnson - In Color All country :)
While Chris didn’t write this, he is a great writer. That’s how he started. He suffers stage fright. He watches his wife to calm him down. He started performing at the request of his wife…every great man has a great woman yall. 💥❤️🎶🔥🙌🏻

And she can sang!
This is a original david Allen coke song
You should do reaction to Chris Stapleton sometimes I cry.
He does not suffer from stage fright!! He does not look at Morgane to settle him down. He was performing BEFORE he met and married Morgane. Please stop spreading false UA-cam myths. Do some research and get your facts straight. 🙄
Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that this is a Country song. It is Straight Up Blues. Period. It is a Great song!!
Exactly!! Just because someone is from the South or wears a cowboy hat does not make an specific song country. I have to push back on the people who say the Allman Brothers are Southern Rock--because of where they are from or the slight accent, but they are almost straight blues--and they would tell you that to your face.
That's how we do in the KY!Lol!He's from Kentucky we are so proud. ❤Yall are awesome!
Chris is a blues man at heart.
I respect him even more because he worked to become relevant. Small shows, clubs, bars. No tik tok or fake stuff. Chris is as real as they come in 2023. God Bless you CS.
Chris and his wife have 5 children. You know there has got to be some great talent in at least one of those kids!
His wife said in an interview how she feels about him writing songs for her, and she said, "Well, I stay pregnant all the time." 😆
I love Chris but I really love his wife for being his anchor and calming his anxiety by singing with him both very beautiful strong soulful voices❤
Thank you guys for not stopping the song and hearing it all the way!
Twang? In THAT performance? Dude, that straight up gospel soul singing right there.
The boy got pipes!
Your enthusiasm is so infectious. This is how the world should be - see talent, enjoy talent, no agenda.
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge Morgan. Chris is arguably one of the greatest singers of our time and Morgan can hold her own signing along side him. Makes you wonder what she could do as the lead on her own song.
She can saaaannnggg
She is fantastic on her own and also compliments Chris perfectly.
Morgane has a cover of You are my Sunshine that is fantastic.
@@jodidavis1178 Thanks I will check it out.
Welcome to Chris' World. His rendition of the anthem is one of the best .....
Thanks for posting this. The only thing I like more than listening to Chris singing this song is watching others hear it for the first time.
Need to let them hear Chris sing........ It's a man's world 🌍

Most country music performers are unabashidly Christian and celebrate their faith...
My daddy told me years ago music unites us all if you allow it...to me the blues is the black country music and country is white blues music...its all about where your raised...lol I probably didn't express it correctly hope it's taken like I mean.
@@coonshine1 yeah…..? Was there something in my comment that suggested otherwise?
Country music is white folk soul music. Proves that we have way in common than they tell us.
I discovered Chris Stapleton right here on youtube. Watching reactions. I'm a fan. Big time!! ❤❤❤✌️
You did not f anything up! It's all good!
Chris is great country blues! Who wouldn't love him?
It’s soul guys it’s the southern soul your grand dads loved
It's the Blues ❤
There is not, never has been nor ever will be a better chill and/or drinking song than this.
Its so easy listening.
This song always reminds me of "I'd Rather Go Blind".
Love Chris!!! Listen to his performance he did with Justin Timberlake!! On the award show!! My goodness !!
More Chris live please!!!!
The song "Cold," by Chris during the CMA awards was a one of my favorite performances of his. Watch also his performance of "This is a Man's World."

Music has a way of reducing all of us to our core selves. And at that core, we are all the damn same. Human. No adjectives needed.
The boy can sing! Even if you listen to his bluegrass band The Steeldrivers (sp) his talent is undeniable.
Chris's voice just goes deep into your soul and stays there. What a performance!!!
This is like 1% country 99% blues
Truth is, it is blues with faint echoes of country
the bass line is basically an exact copy of the bass line from 'id rather go blind' by eta james

You are correct, he is a country artist but so many of his songs are structured like blues, the vocal phrasing, and chord progression are all blues.
"Cold" at the CMA awards, incredible performance!
I love all of his music. I love Cold, Death Row oh heck all of them.
That isn't country! That is soul music.
I know that's right!
I agree 100%
This is the Mississippi Delta Blues music influence in country music.
Country music and soul music ....there both of similar back grounds .
My guy in the middle loves that "warm as a glass of brandy" line lol
Chris his own genre! 🔥
I really like JT and Chris Stapleton, Say Something. It's really good!
Subbing to watch more Chris Stapleton reactions. COLD (CMA) is the one!!!

I agree with you. I prefer the old country to the modern stuff.
There is a bluesman in that country boy. See him live. Always a good show.
Check out his performance of I Was Wrong at the same concert. Amazing.

Just so ya know...this man can sing anything...anything!
You need to listen this song with just Chris and his guitar. Absolutely amazing.
Oh Yes !! Thank You 😊

It's great to know you love listening to Chris he's a great songwriter and singer, husband, and father very humble man. Kindly listen to him singing Cold.
Sometimes I Cry, I was Wrong, Cold, live is the only way to go.

Cory was loving it
Chris is not country. He is his own genre mix of blues and rock. He just wears the hat.🤷♀️😜😎

First time hearing Chris but heard others sing this song, so had to check out the original, and not disappointed! I agree doesn't not sound country.

He has a couple 420 friendly songs, “Might as well get stoned” and “Them stems”. I’m going to see him live in July!
Always a good show. Just caught em here in Illinois. Marcus king and war and treaty opened. Killer

OS country has stories, real writers and real feeling behind it. And Alabama is 🔥🔥
Do it please. 😊
Fantabulous. Thank you Sirs
You all need to hear him playing our National Anthem at 1/2 time. Best version next to Whitney Houston. Love how he let the lyrics shine.
Chris is channeling Al Green and Stevie Ray Vaughn in this one ❤
Love this song!
I've seen him live several times. I like his studio recordings but his live performances are awesome!
Loved it.

Wouldn’t Chris Stapleton be amazing doing “I put a spell on you” CCR style.
No
@@donnierichardson2309 have you heard John Fogerty sing? He and Chris have very similar range and style.

Listen to George Jones sing Tennessee Whiskey and let me know what you think.
Two things to check out - Their performance on NPR Tiny Desk Concert and from the CMAs his performance of Cold.. Both AMAZING!!
He is a favorite. His voice is very bluesy.
Gonna see him June 8th. Can't wait
Anxious to see y'all react to some more Chris. "Cold" at the CMAs please.
