- Players are flying in from all over the world this weekend for the Battle of BC 6 Smash Major in Vancouver, and like many other majors - the hosting city ran a prelocal event in the week leading up to the event. Among the travelers was Tarakotori, a player from Japan that mains Little Mac - and to everyone's surprise, he WON the entire tournament! Here's how he did it!!

Crazy to me how many people are obsessed with peanut but dont know tarakotori. I remember watching tara for the first time and the commentator saying he was better than peanut. Made me angry and i refused to believe it. But after watching enough of tara, he's just straight up better, no contest. Better movement, better neutral, better parry punishes. TARAKOTORI IS THE TRUE LITTLE MAC GOAT

this is why I think so many characters have potential in ult. i bet there are so many characters like melee yoshi or dk that could rise through the ranks because people begin to figure them out.

The moment i played little mac i knew he had potential despite what people were saying about him.
I think little Mac can technically get results with a caveat. Little Mac while a horrible matchup spread against characters has a very nice favorable matchup vs cocky players. The fact that he’s one of the worst characters in theory yet still has incredible strengths can cause cocky people to try to engage him where he’s strongest. Then they lose. You can get some at first unthinkable wins against top players if those players have a ego issue. The characters themselves he’s facing matters less or even the skill of the people then the the temperament of those people he’s facing

This is why i think tierlist is pointless. Any character can be viable if played right. Yeah, some matchups are hard for some characters, but that doesn't mean it's not unwinnable

My worst loss was vs. a pro player Sheik I won't name. I played Villager. My every input was matched and beaten. It was as if this pro player was tracing my play style, mixup game and mashing. I respected the neutral, played my best and I was not tilted. He made it look like a TAS bot humbling and embarrassing me in every single interaction in a jv4stock. I'm a skilled player.

This is the breath of the life the scene needs. Steve and Sonix will ensure that the scene never grows. You need casual fans to grow, and those 2 will ensure they never come.
Seriously disagree. Steve is generally pretty funny to watch for most casuals and sonix offline is a gamer.

i was there in the livestream. i was there
mine was when smash ultimate first came out, i saw Armada's stream and got lucky to face him online, and faced his Pokemon Trainer, almost got him too, but he just did as armada does and projectile snipe me from accross the stage for kill. came down to last stock, but i ain't gonna say it was close cause he litterally turned on full gas and beat my ass with a zero to death (250%) wombo grab combo and i ended up committing die

Little Mac is not "bottom tier" at all.
Bro I played as Jigglypuff once against really good Little Mac online and I could not do ANYTHING against him on stage. Every time I tried to approach from the air Little Mac's up b beat Puff every time. And Puff sucks ass on the ground. Little Mac beats Puff on stage but Puff wins off stage

I’ve always known that Mac beats puff. He can super armor his way through every attack she has with ease, and can kill her at like 30 because of his great killpower and puff’s low defense. Sure, if puff hits him offstage once then he dies, but that’s kind of it. You have to approach him first, which just doesn’t work very well for her. You have to wait for Mac to approach, and then you can hit him. I still think it’s funny that people think that Mac is an easy matchup for puff… they haven’t seen what he can really do. (Also KO punch kills her at 10% lol)
I don't feel like Mac has bad match-ups, its just his glaring weaknesses are easily exploitable, by anyone.

Little Mac, K.Rool, and Zelda are the 3 low-tiers that I've always felt like are just significantly better than literally every other low-tier because of their highly specialized traits.
Little Mac in particular is super good against a lot of mid-tier lower high-tier characters, it's just that the best characters and most popular characters in bracket give zero shits about him.
As a Mac main I’d say a good Mac that utilizes fast tilts with super armor ANYTHING even neutral b can beat any character. I’ve played lots of jokers and Steves at my locals and max is a great character with TERRIBLE weaknesses lol.
@@heartnet40honestly I’d put the subset of low tier but with highly specialized strengths and weaknesses in its own tier. Those characters specifically dominate cocky players since they often forget those characters can actually cook and challenge them when they are at their strongest. Makes them all good counter picks. You can see many matches where someone thinks they are hot shit and try to challenge mac up close and it almost never works. If someone is significantly better then you but their ego is a massive problem might be a good idea to bring in mac. The player matchup is almost if not more important then the character matchup. Some people rage then struggle against zoners some people have ego issues and struggle vs Mac and some people only get better when angered so “playing honorably” works best.

this is why i hate tier lists. sometimes the issue isn't the character. there are a lot of characters that have the potential to be great that no one bothers trying because they /feel/ like they are bad. duck hunt comes to mind as i write this. i expect i'm gonna run into a lot more little macs now.
