you planted the phalaenopsis upside down, you want the crown to face down so water doesn't collect in it. That tank likely doesn't have enough air flow though since the whole thing is basically sealed so most epiphytic orchids might not be a good, Maxiliarias or Dracula orchids like those conditions how ever but they get really big. if you do plan on making a chameleon enclosure orchids do very well in them
Something about Jennie's videos feel like they have a lot more love and care put into them. Like she's knowledgeable and smart, but she's got a lot of personality that makes the videos more than just informative. I shouldnt be this invested in the building of tanks, but here I am XD
Cece I totally agree! It definitely shows that she’s very passionate about animals and loves what she does. It’s never boring because she’s always just as interested as we are :-)
Thank you! I probably put way too much work into my videos because I'm a perfectionist about it, but it's really important to me that my videos are good quality and not boring. So I'm glad you notice the difference. :)
I have to say, now being 16 and first started watching your channel when you had 8 videos, Im very happy to see your growth. I remember when I would sit by my Kendall tablet waiting everyday for a new video! Love your videos still to this day
I got my first Dart Frog tank yesterday! I love it so much! You have nooo idea how much research i did. I was like "mine has to be as good as Jennie's to be good enough!" Because you inspired to have one! Love your videos! Favorite UA-camr!!!
The dart frog’s enclosure is my favorite part of my local zoo. I could sit on the ground next to the glass for hours and hours. I love to take time lapses of them on my phone. There is so much color and movement in that display. It makes me wish to build a vivarium/work desk one day... especially working at home, they can bring so much nature therapy to a small space... I could watch them for hours and never grow bored. Thank you for your videos over the years... me and my goldfish have enjoyed them. :)
You are so awesome. I am always impressed with how informative and detailed your videos are... You did an amazing job with this vivarium and it looks absolutely gorgeous and a fantastic little habitat for your lucky dart frogs. Also the new merch looks amazing - definitely getting myself a tank top!
Whatever happened before, you look happy now and it's a treat to watch your vids, you are a beautifull creature and created a beautifull frog tank. Love to see how you prepare for all your projects and take your time to learn and listen to specialists to make things as perfect as possible. Go girl, keep enjoying what you do,it shows and gave me a smile on my face.
Jenny when I herd you were divorced I realized I don't know that much about you. Would you consider doing a Q&A Ps. I have 4 common goldfish and I watch all your fish and non fish related videos.
Brown _Gerl I understand if she doesn't want to talk about her personal life and that's ok. I'm just saying I don't know about her like how old she is. Haha maybe I've been accustom to UA-cam's doing Q&A.
I’ve been working on a dart frog viv myself...not planning to get any frogs til, 2019, but I’ve been reading a lot about the humidity in sealed tanks and more and more people are preferring a ventilation system (with screen vents and/or fans) and aiming for 80% humidity with a day time drop. They’re finding that it allows the frogs to live longer and keep the plants healthier too. Good tip on the alcohol with the silicone! Wish I’d seen this earlier tonight. Just finished sealing up the fan and fogger for my viv and used up so many napkins trying to get rid of the residue on my hands! Great looking viv too!!!
You bring up some really good points! I'm considering adding circular screened vent holes on the glass lid in the future; I think it makes a lot of sense that it would help with plant health. I'd also like to add a computer fan inside a frog-proof enclosure within the vivarium for air circulation in the viv. It's a work in progress, haha! :)
Solid Gold Aquatics yup, the ventilation doesn’t need to be that big, it’s the circulating air that more important. If the vents are too big you end up sucking out all the humid air and replacing it with dry indoor air. I literally only drilled holes near the front of my tank and alternate when the fan comes on with when the fogger comes on, just trying to adjust all the kinks. Good luck with yours!! Can’t wait to see all that plant growth over the coming months
Well done. I just transferred my 2 crested geckos and 2 fire-bellied toads. When I get to a bioactive dart frog collection I want a waterfall and a mist generator. Plants are perfect, I want those as well.
Hey Jenny, if you want phalonopsis to grow in your vivarium, get a flask of clones off ebay and plant directly from the flask into the vivarium, they will take, as they are raised in high humidity in the flask
Useful information! I used to keep fire bellied toads and newts along with pythons, corn snakes, and hognosed snakes. I wish I would have had this information back then. I believe the more natural the terrarium the happier and healthier the pets..thank you.
I almost got bakhuis for my first frogs but found cobalts and had to have them, they are both very similar coloring as your patricias. I got hooked and now have 5 groups and six vivs. Cobalt, azureus, vanzolini, auratus Rio cascajal, and of course luecs. Great video.
Honestly I started watching your channel a month or two ago for fish. I have no interest in taking care of fish or amphibians, it's just not for me personally. But your channel is so entertaining and so informative. I love watching your videos and telling my friends all about the stuff I learn.
i can tell you watch serpadesign lol. nice vivarium and that orchid is very pretty i hope it does good! best of luck with all of your future vivariums and tanks!
Your Phals will go through an adjustment period. Be patient, they can adapt. I have friends that have made it work. Just placed higher up to allow a bit more drying.
Looks fab! A lot more open than a lot of other builds I’ve seen and I think that the frogs will like it! I’d just be careful about having it completely sealed off though; although they like it humid, humidity and stagnation aren’t quite the same. Can’t wait to see it grown in!
If yOu put the orchid in with a cup of orchid moss around the roots to keep the water near the roots. Also vary the light to its specification at night it should do fine. JUst make a cloth nesting pot and hammock it in there. And feed it cricket calcium or frog mineral water or something safe for the tank.
One trick from my research on orchidarium, is to put a fan in the tank. This way, you can keep it moist and humid but you also dry out the root of the orchid.
"...Your laptop looks a little bare" as I'm actually looking at vinyl stickers for my new laptop, haha. The vivarium looks beautiful! I can't wait to see how it changes and grows over the next few months. =D
tip for the waste water, if you have extra potted plants you can use that same water and it's kind of like a natural fertilizer given you don't spray chemicals in the tanks
That tank looks AMAZING! You really have a talent at designing enclosures that look so natural and stunning at the same time. Also those rocky aquarium backgrounds look crazy good! Can't wait to see the goldfish's colors just POP in front of those. Watching this video with my 4 month old bunny cuddling in my lap, he's also loving your videos!
😍 I've been waiting for this video ever since you got your frogs. So excited to see it and cant wait to see what else is to come from all of these custom set ups.
Of all your many videos this is my absolute favorite! Watching how hard you endeavored to create this is really eye-opening. Your quite clever in your builds. Really "PRO" work. Please do more "build" video.
Egg crate was the hardest thing for me to find lol. 5 stores, on line and I had to have my boyfriend pick it up for me after work over an hour from home at the only Lowes anywhere near us
I have been subscribed for two years and I had NO IDEA you have been married before. you should do a draw my life video or something along those lines. Love you
Hello Beautiful!.. I usually don't comment but... I think you are truly amazing with the attention to detail and care that you put into the car of your animals.. I can't wait to see it all come together... 🐠🦎🐇🐈🐕🐸🌿🌿💕💕
Your tank turned out really beautiful! I was happy to watch your video since I will be building a new tank for my rescue dart frogs very soon and it always nice to get ideas from others. Thank you!
such a beautiful set up!! i love all the plants, it looks so lush. and i’m right there with you on the plant addiction... i can’t leave my local hardware store without buying a new one each time i go
Love it!! And love that you added orchids!!! Air movement is crucial for phals, that would help - if you want mini orchids with amazing color, try masdevallias, they LOVE high humidity!
Your videos are so much fun!!! Also youve given me a passion for goldfish! Don't worry I wouldn't keep 2 in anything smaller than a 40 gallon!!!! Ly Jennie!
Divorce sucks! I'm going through mine right now. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I was miserable for far too long! I'm working on my dart frog terrarium right now! 😄 love your videos 😊
Much better vid that I thought it be, the stainless steel bins shouldn’t be used as they will rust which is poisonous to dart frogs. Zinc wires or plastic covered ties would work
You had me at Coffee mug! Getting one for sure! I just now started noticing your videos. I’m a goldfish fanatic, and I never knew your channel existed until a couple of weeks ago. Glad I stumbled upon such a good channel! You produce incredible videos!
Getting to this video a little late, but if your mini phalaenopsis didn't make it in your vivarium, and you would like to still keep a showcase plant, other orchids like Masdevallias, neofinetia falcata or neostylis would love the high humidity but will stay pretty small to fit in your tank They're kind of specialty orchids, but there are tons of online retailers and even some sellers on eBay I bet you could find.
That was an amazing project ! You are so creative! I love your videos. Listening to you talk is so soothing. You have such an easy going way about you and the way you explain things makes them so simple and almost like common sense! I’m sorry that I left Fl ! I was so close to you in Debary! We could have had so much fun! Keep up the great work! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and talent !
yay new video! I loved yesterday's video as well! Your frogs are adorable and they have the cutest names! plus another video tomorrow?! you're the best ily!
just curious, why go with the plant that would probably die and not one of the tens of orchids that can successfully be grown in a high humidity environment (and stay smaller)
I'd love to have a dart frog tank but if they do any large amount of frog noises I'd go nuts listening to it since i do not have an outdoor set up where their enclosure could be housed.
Check out the NEW MERCH! :)

Def check out dart frog queens channel. Lots of in depth dart frog info.

I'd like this too! :)
I don't why she has to talk about this
Brown _Gerl I understand if she doesn't want to talk about her personal life and that's ok. I'm just saying I don't know about her like how old she is. Haha maybe I've been accustom to UA-cam's doing Q&A.
She’s done Q&A’s in the past.
She is 29
I’m not even really a fan of frogs but I just really enjoy watching people talk about things that they love and know a lot about so here I am lol
I love the Patricias I could be biased due to sharing a name with them but they are truly stunning and interesting little creatures.

What a great project, with stellar results. Congrats. Can’t wait to see the looks on the frogs faces when you introduce them to their new home.
Oh my, look at those colors...majestic.
Such a detailed and informative video. Your enclosures are getting better and better! So excited for the next video
A build video, yes! It's been so long since we've seen a build. I'm stoked to see it built, and it looks beautiful! Great job Jennie!
Useful information! I used to keep fire bellied toads and newts along with pythons, corn snakes, and hognosed snakes. I wish I would have had this information back then. I believe the more natural the terrarium the happier and healthier the pets..thank you.

Like aquascaping without the pesky sloshing... Super informative and eagerly looking forward to the frog debut. Keep up the good work, Jenny!
i 100% like. that undergravel and set up look so natural
i can tell you watch serpadesign lol. nice vivarium and that orchid is very pretty i hope it does good! best of luck with all of your future vivariums and tanks!
Yay, can’t wait to see the backgrounds come in for the fish tanks! Love the new vivarium for the dart frogs

Hi Jenny I love all your post's thank you for spending time to make them for all of us to watch
"...Your laptop looks a little bare" as I'm actually looking at vinyl stickers for my new laptop, haha. The vivarium looks beautiful! I can't wait to see how it changes and grows over the next few months. =D
This vivarium is art lol.... im so pumped for all the stuff that is going to happen with fish / animal room :)
Wow that is awesome! I have always wanted a vivarium. I just build an aquarium bench and I only have 2 tanks on it so far so I may have to try one.
tip for the waste water, if you have extra potted plants you can use that same water and it's kind of like a natural fertilizer given you don't spray chemicals in the tanks

Wow. Just Wow. Id love a vivarium just like that just as a plant feature, it's beautiful.
My myyyyy. You’re soo creative and care for every plants and pet throughly! My idol 😍😍😍 I learn a lot of goldfish from you. Thank you so much!

such a beautiful set up!! i love all the plants, it looks so lush. and i’m right there with you on the plant addiction... i can’t leave my local hardware store without buying a new one each time i go
This is the first vivarium build ive seen that mentions anything about a drainage hose for the false bottom.
Haha! I already have your other stickers on my laptop but I think it is a little bare... might have to do something about that! Love the vivarium!
You’re content is top notch! You set the bar very high and your editing is spot on. Great, informative, and fun... Nice work!
I love when tanks have live plants looks 10x better
Love it!! And love that you added orchids!!! Air movement is crucial for phals, that would help - if you want mini orchids with amazing color, try masdevallias, they LOVE high humidity!
ooo i love the new merch art! so pretty :) Cannot wait for all the new updates to your fish room as well~
Happy to see you doing well!
I love what you have accomplished! You Go Girl!!!
Looking forward to seeing your Live Wet Room finished.
👍👍👍
Your videos are so much fun!!! Also youve given me a passion for goldfish! Don't worry I wouldn't keep 2 in anything smaller than a 40 gallon!!!! Ly Jennie!
can you add maybe a fake orchid amongst the live plants for a little extra decoration in a bio active maybe
when you seal the gap with the tape, it was so nice and neat that it is satisfying XD
Divorce sucks! I'm going through mine right now. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I was miserable for far too long! I'm working on my dart frog terrarium right now! 😄 love your videos 😊
I love how she made her world here on UA-cam. Great job.
Much better vid that I thought it be, the stainless steel bins shouldn’t be used as they will rust which is poisonous to dart frogs. Zinc wires or plastic covered ties would work

frogs are my favorite animal! I love poison dart frogs 💖
NEHERP is where I get most of my stuff for my tanks. That and Josh's Frogs :P
That's a clean setup for sure !!!
Jenny I love your videos and you are very helpful. All the best and thanks.
Wow! So informative and helpful :) ive been wanting to do a dartfrog tank for so long, thank you for reinspiring to get back at it!!
Great looking setup, can't wait to see the frogs being added
I L😍VE your goldfish videos the most, but W😱W this frog one is full of information and very detailed, I am drowning with knowledge! Thanks Jennie! 😘
That new Merch is adorable! I have to buy it!
The only person that makes quality vivariums on youtube is SerpaDesign.
And you.
Great video. I enjoyed your video so much. I didn't know anything about your frogs and now I do. I love your channel. I am so glad that I found you.
This is one of the most helpful and interesting videos I have ever seen on UA-cam.
you could say you are..............
*OLD BUT GOLD*
The merch art looks so cute!
I love bio active enclosures. I made my first one for my crested gecko and i got hooked. I wanna make more 😂
How are the axolotls?
amazing!!! Thank you for sharing this experiece with us
Can you use cocoa fiber mixed with soil with maybe some root tabs instead of abg mix?
I like those color patterns! Very cool.
Absolutely superb vivarium.Good description also
Absolutely love the plants and the scape, so stunning
That was an amazing project ! You are so creative!
I love your videos. Listening to you talk is so soothing. You have such an easy going way about you and the way you explain things makes them so simple and almost like common sense!
I’m sorry that I left Fl ! I was so close to you in Debary! We could have had so much fun!
Keep up the great work! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and talent !
yay new video! I loved yesterday's video as well! Your frogs are adorable and they have the cutest names! plus another video tomorrow?! you're the best ily!
THIS VIVARIUM IS DOPE! I LOVE IT AND WANT TO GET DART FROGS NOW! 🤙🏼
What a beautiful new home you've given them. Love it. 💜
loved the set up video. I look forward to the next one. thank you.
I LOVE THE TSHIRT!!!! THE ART IS AMAZING!
This video made me really want to set something up like this.....great stuff!!!
Next step is learning to breed them. Their tadpoles are adorable but from what I've seen can be overwhelming.
Love the new vivarium! You did such a great job with the scape!!!!
Vivarium looks amazing
I have a ready 18X18X24 enclosure, so should I get dart frogs, or one or two red eyed tree frogs?
So beautiful 😍You inspire me to have dart frogs . Now I really want them 🤔
Your Tank is beautiful.
Frog are just so cute🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
Yep! I need that artwork in my life.
Hi jenny although it looks cool and awesome how do you planned to maintain it, I means how do you clean the tank
Hey for the out side of the false bottom the one with the light defuser false bottom what can I put in those cracks
just curious, why go with the plant that would probably die and not one of the tens of orchids that can successfully be grown in a high humidity environment (and stay smaller)
I love vivariums!! They're new to me but super interesting!!!
I'd love to have a dart frog tank but if they do any large amount of frog noises I'd go nuts listening to it since i do not have an outdoor set up where their enclosure could be housed.
olive oil...works well and prevents silicone from adhering to finger. Old trick I recently learned.
