Hope you all enjoy this brand new episode of my trucking Q&A series: This May Contain Nuts! 🔸 QUESTIONS IN THIS EPISODE 🔸 3:22 - What differences do you see between the younger generation and your own generation? 7:23 - Do you prefer playing old fashioned games or newer ones? 11:02 - Do you like old fashioned music (60s/70s/80s/90s) or more modern music (2000s-present)? 14:26 - Which decade of motor vehicles was the best? 19:18 - Do you think that over time, social media will become non-existent due to different generations of politicians' opinions on privacy? 25:16 - Does the younger generation of sim fans respect simulation gaming more or less as the sim gaming market grows? 28:02 - What do you think the future generation of kids will be most interested in? At the moment it's video games, consoles, etc. but do you think that will change? 29:34 - How do you think technology changes life between generations, up to the point where parents don't understand their own children? 33:04 - Do you think simulators appeal more to an older audience now, as opposed to inspiring the next generation of people to go into a certain job? 35:26 - Do you think it's bad for children to grow up with phones/tablets constantly around them? Also, what do you think about parents posting photos of their (small) children on social media? 37:52 - What do you think the next generation of the workplace will be like compared to previous generations of the workplace? 39:22 - Is there anything the current generation has that you would have liked when your generation was young? 40:17 - Have sweets and Chocolates really gotten smaller?
I think that flight sims tend to wind up in the hands of older people because while all sim setups are often expensive, flight sims tend to get really expensive really quick. Along with that, a wheel setup can be used for racing sims, trucking sims, bus sims, etc. whereas a flight sim setup is basically useless for anything but flight sims.
Can't agree it more: "The more you try to control something, the more you will drive it underground. Everything will find its way." supp. Your such videos can always bring sth. deep and thought-provoking while helping me improve my English listening as well. Thank you too much Squirrel!!!
I’m a new subscriber since last week and while I watch a lot of content creators, you are my favorite. Like you, I’m the older generation and agree, the social media era has brought the worst out in humanity. I’m getting back into gaming (mostly sims) after many years not playing. My youngest kid is a huge gamer and got me into FS 2020 and I have since gotten into this laid back truck driving sim and I’m checking out some of your other sims I may enjoy (summer car maybe). Having retired from military and many combat experiences, I haven’t so much gotten into shooters (maybe cause I’ve experienced it enough🤔). But I’m happy to have found a new hobby I can enjoy and even when not playing, I can get many ideas and enjoyment watching vids like yours. Keep up the good work.
I lost my driving license, due to having a neurological condition called Functional Neurological Disorder FND. Driving Ets and Ats helps, because I miss driving and I wanted to get my HGV license. Your videos are very informative and I enjoy listening to your views, which are very similar to mine. I’m a 41 year old man using his misses laptop and can’t remember my password lol! All the best for the future my virtual friend! Lol
Hello Squirrel! The genius of J. M. Jarre certainly does not need it, but I suddenly felt an extra joy, to hear that you also love electronic music. Jarre, my personal number one on the list of composers in that genre. JCM (67) Lelystad, the Netherlands. Keep streaming, SVP!
I must say these videos are actually very enjoyable, if not watching the gameplay - you’re listening to the audio. It’s almost like a podcast because of the theme but with that little bit extra, kudos to you - Squirrel
Hello there Paul. Thanks for the epic video and for answering my questions in this episode and the one in the last episode!! In this episode, I was Matroshca361 (which is my Twitch name) and in the last one I was thepenguin36! Honestly, in regards my questions, I totally agree with your views, as I have similar views myself. For instance, in the case of games ,I like to play modern games myself, despite the fact that I started gaming with the likes of Mario and Prince of Persia on Windows 95 or 98 back a long time ago. Also, in the case of music, I am also a big fan of 1980's music and I consider it to be my favourite decade of music of all time. I do like some 1970's music, like ABBA, The Eagles, etc. and some 1960's music, like from The Beatles and Elvis Presley, but that is about it. Also, about 1990's music, I also thought it wasn't that great. The only people I really like from that era are the following: MC Hammer, with the song ''You Can't Touch This'', Coolio, with the song ''Gangsta's Paradise'' and that certain Canadian singer who got famous because of Titanic the movie (which I am about to watch tomorrow evening, as a matter of fact), but only because it was a simple family business. Also, in regards 2000's music, I am only a fan of certain mainstream Romanian bands and people like Coldplay, Robbie Williams and a couple of other people, like Tiesto and Avicii, who have done really good trance music. Besides that, I am also a big fan of movie music, like Hans Zimmer's and Ennio Morricone's, just like you, Paul. However, I haven't listened much to people like John Williams, except for some of his Star Wars stuff, Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis. PS: Have you seen any musical documentary movies so far? (ex: Michael Jackson's ''This is it'', Elvis Presley's '' '68 Comeback Special 50th Anniversary'' or Coldplay's ''A Head Full of Dreams''). Also, ''old fashioned games'' in my question indeed referred to retro games. Best regards, Andrew (aka Matroshca361 on Twitch).
I'm currently forced to use a keyboard / mouse. It's more difficult as I used your settings for the improved physics. My wheel and pedals are in storage as we have recently moved. Thank you for sharing this video, I always enjoy your stuff!
When you talk about the bell curve in simulation, I heard myself. I'm at the very high end for flight simulation (always flying by the book, operating aircraft I have actually operated), but closer to the middle for like euro truck simulator
Hey squirrel whenever you think you're ready (preferably next year at least lol) let me know when you come to America I live in NC. Sometime next year I'll be driving a true old school left lane large car of the American industry a Peterbilt 389 long nose. I'll be pulling a refrigerated unit and staying on the road a month at a time. Come on over and catch a ride
Hello Squirrel, I've been watching your videos. I like your detailed descriptions quite a lot. I was wondering if you could make a video of how to make a double trailer for multiplayer with two different types of cargo . Apparently it requires safe editing. But I would really aprreciate it, if you can make such a video. I would be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work Best regards: Vladimir Georgiev
Over way too soon, could have watched/listened to another hour or two easily. As I get older (around about same age as you) I'm finding learning new stuff harder, input new information and the old information get's discarded randomly. I can't remember if I put the kettle on or even if I drank the tea I think I made. Now what was I thinking about when I started this comment? - Can't remember!
Just got Ets2 gifted to me today can’t wait to get in the roads. Not much mp bc of the crazy drivers. But I mainly playing mp so can’t wait to get in those roads and get off the American roads for a few days .
I do feel like there's a cultural divide between those who grew up in the digital age and those who didn't. I'm 28, almost 29 now, so lets say 30. I live on an Island with quite an insular culture, a relatively old population and Ifeel we were generally behind the times when it came to really adopting technology into the culture. But Ihave atypical autism and have really struggled with social things in real life, so I got into digital culture and I basically I feel like I was sort of on the edge, where my generation was just starting to grow up with technology, but a lot of my age group never really had the same exposure to it I did. Now that I am sorting my real life out and getting back into trying to make friends, I find myself being most friendly and having the most in common with people younger than me far more than I do with people my age or slightly older. The ages of the people I'm currently friendliest with are 22,18 and 13, even though relatively speaking I've known a lot of other people for much longer, I've just never clicked with thm. Not that I dislike them or anything. And I do think it's really tied to the extent to which technology has been part of our lives. Even kids who aren't necessarily "into" tech have still had significant exposure to it and it will always have played a large role in their lives in a way that just isn't necessarily true about my generation. I don't think it's easy to pin down specific reasons why though and I think you run the risk of overgeneralising if you try. I feel like it applies whether or not they really spend a lot of their time "keyboard warrioring" or "going outside". Tech is just such an integral part of life now. It's not like these people are all just like me in terms of how they live their lives.
My dog is soon 8 years old. And it is becoming easier and easier to teach him new tricks. Maybe the more tricks he can do, the easier it becomes for him to recognize and remember new once.
The lack of respect thing might be a cultural thing, because as a 20 year old from Finland that really surprised me. I feel like here at least the younger generation is a lot more respectful and polite than the older generations, with even more formal ways of speaking coming having come back to a certain extent. People younger than me (so kids that is) certainly seem more polite, considerate and respectful than when I was their age. And from the stories I hear the older generations telling it seems like they were even worse in many ways. We might rage and rant on the internet, but that tends to stay on the internet.
Instead of questions about life, I was hoping to discuss the in's and out's of Simulators. For example do you see SCS bring out better mirrors for blind side backing up, etc. I liked the truck you drove... I reluctantly gave this video a thumbs up.
A wealth of last gen Finnish Police Mondeos gave a nostalgic rush. :) Just out of curiosity - is the Police van (VW) available in a mod or as DLC? It's all cosmetics, but more realism.
On the respect for simulation I love it seriously I like the farm sim, euro truck sim makes me want to get my licence for lorries it's inspires me to learn how build my own hardware so it's a good genre of game in my opinion
@Squirrel I wish I could play this game, I've watched every single one of your videos for about 4 years🙂but I can't afford a gaming pc and my Xbox broke😢 @Squirrel ❤️
Is g_suspension_stiffness 0 really the most realistic? i can't remember seeing trucks drop the back down so much that the rear lifted tires hit the ground and start spinning. But it sure made for a bit more scary drive from Jönköping to Bergen in Norway :)

hi squirrel wondered if you could help me. I want to start streaming when I play euro truck sim2, but I just want a bit of guidance tbh, iv go an account on youtube and twitch what iv setup for it, now I know how to stream using OBS and restream, but do you stream live or do you just record your gamplay and then edit the videos, as im not sure how to edit videos? also I see you have both youtube and twich, do you stream ot both at same time or just the one?

Hi Squirrel. One question in regards to the ProMods map. It says on the ProMods site that Beyond the Baltic is not compatible with ProMods yet, but will not prevent the game from loading. I see that you're using it. So is it compatible now?

If my summer car could look like this
But then it wouldn't be my summer car
It would lose part of the whole game
Then it would be my summer truck
That would be cool!
It would ruin the charm of My Summer Car.

(18:55) I just googled the ml350. Nice car you've got there👌🏻
You hear Jean Michel Jarre? I even love you more now. Was born 1998 and my Dad had his music on always, so I like him since my toddler age.
I Didn't have you down as a Trance man. I guess you learn something new every day.
a question for next episode:
what is something you do often but most people you know don't do?
Go to the link and ask if there otherwise this won't be in the next one
That probobobaly one 3:22 😂😂
I'm only 21 but I do love myself some 70/80s disco bangers yessir
I'm currently forced to use a keyboard / mouse. It's more difficult as I used your settings for the improved physics. My wheel and pedals are in storage as we have recently moved. Thank you for sharing this video, I always enjoy your stuff!

Q3 and Q4; the correct answers were Guns & Roses and 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302. *That is all.*
Funny I was listening to this while playing ETS2 and I delivered my cargo within 2 seconds of Squirrel.
Lol
My summer truck! :D
THEME-Farming

Is Finland (my home country) included in the Scandinavia DLC or is it a separate mod or something?
Thanks!
@Squirrel I wish I could play this game, I've watched every single one of your videos for about 4 years🙂but I can't afford a gaming pc and my Xbox broke😢 @Squirrel ❤️
Do you have a pc at all? Because even my trash general use 10 year old pc can run this game (poorly, but it still can).
Is g_suspension_stiffness 0 really the most realistic? i can't remember seeing trucks drop the back down so much that the rear lifted tires hit the ground and start spinning.
But it sure made for a bit more scary drive from Jönköping to Bergen in Norway :)
Question for the next episode: Have you become less like games when playing them has become your job? (My name is pronounced " Mikhail"
Totaly get what you mean matey. We had Commodore 64 , and Terminator in18bit 🤭😂, i'm Just glad we survived that. It was nice to play, cause there was nothing else, but we always looked for better graphics etc. It's heaven now for us! I do remember playing the first Resident Evil, and it was awsome, but now playing FS19, Truck sim, Skyrim, withcher, wooow. Lara croft wasn't all that in minecraft style, i did start with Pong for God sake, 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
Here are my questions, pls pick the best:
How do you think everyday life has changed since you were a kid?
What’s your least favourite thing about every day life? (Kinda dark I guess... take it as you will)
In the sims you play, could you see yourself doing these jobs for real? (E.G. Truck driver, Train driver, the obvious ones)
Instead of DLC you had "Add-Ons": remember Test Drive 2? Even that was pretty rare, though.
I wish you could get the route advisor mod to display on an Ipad INSIDE the cab via accessory!
There is a mod out there which allows you to do it
Cool video
hi squirrel wondered if you could help me.

Wish I had a PC to play ets2:(
Use Shadow Cloud Gaming
Hey I’m a new subscriber and I love your vids ;)
Hi Squirrel. One question in regards to the ProMods map. It says on the ProMods site that Beyond the Baltic is not compatible with ProMods yet, but will not prevent the game from loading. I see that you're using it. So is it compatible now?
25:16 I feel that in the US, sim gaming is much less respected than in Europe.
question if u was given unlimited amount of money what type of game genre would u create (i.e like truck simulator or shooter. or a building like city skylines
Nice truck

Nice video
Hey @Squirrel, how do you move camera left and right without it "jumping". Do you use some motion detector or a mouse?

Anyone else just watching Wall-E's eyes move around as he drives
Just woundering how do i go about making skins cos i have a iveco 190/38 i want to put one on to but has to be my dads old lorry skin he had, amd i dont no snyone who will make it for me

Since you've mentioned it in the video, what are the kind of shooters you play?
