Hi Brent, thanks for the TBird videos. My lovely wife bought me one for Xmas. Could you give some info on your up flaps/elevator mix? Is it linked to the retracts? And how much throw do you use when that mix is applied? And is only on up elevator not down? Mixing for Dummies questions!
And on a personal note, thanks for the videos of you and your sons flying. My wife gave birth to 2 wonderful boys, many years ago. Unfortunately they never left the hospital. With us for 1 month and 3 days then left us for heaven.
Thank you for any advice with the mixing stuff, and for being a great role model for your boys..
    Kerry

Its not that its under powered as much as its inefficient as hell. The duct design on F16s are inherently bad due to the fact that they are restrictive for edfs. If they could compress air that would be one thing but obviously thats not the case. The other big problem is the fact that the E-flite/ FMS F-16s SPECIFICALLY have the absolute wrong exhaust nozzle size (80mm), and it exacerbates the poor ducting issue. I installed a 71mm 3d printed nozzle in mine and will be trying it out this weekend. With that, im. Positive this thing will be almost perfect.

My remarks about being underpowered were sarcasim lol. But i agree. The ducting with the scale gear is pretty bad. But it works suprisingly well. In the video i show how i made a tail pipe reducer out of mylar :)

@@Chuck_theModfather there was some increase in performance. I also opened up the lower cheaters a lil bit too

Thanks to y’all and others I pushed cg back to 137mm now and printed a thrust tube that makes it fly amazing 🤩! As3x+ and flap gyro make it definitely a whole different animal!

Jets are tough for me. Partially because I don't have a super wide/long runway.

i have to say, you have a confident inspiring field. that makes all the difference in the world. Many of us have huge trees abutting a property line or a roadway we cant cross or a home owner that bitches to our club president when we get within a 100 yards. The field makes all the difference

Where do you have your CG? I tried the 95mm aft of the leading edge as published and it has to be a cruise speed to rotate.

      About 10mm behind recomended

Under-powered and hard to fly? Yep, lot of morons on the old inter web. Nice flying as usual bro. One of my favorite jets in our fleet.

Yeah this one is a blast! Definately goes to the field more than i was anticipating

That pretty much sums up everthing. Ive also found that alot of people shouldnt be flying jets let alone criticize how poorly it flys. I think the eflite f16 is the best all around single 80mm jet. Nice flying man.

      @hechtspeed  Рік тому +1

@@jared6072 i agree. Its alot of fun and is capable lf things alot of other jets arnt. Theres a reason f16s are popular. They just fly good.

Maybe the people that are saying is underpowered is looking for a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio jet. Anyways this F-16 not being 1:1 doesn’t mean is underpowered, climb rat is good. And the speed is good. For me is a powerful jet thanks for sharing

Hard to fly? I'm a new pilot to planes and EDF. I probably have less than 25 flights on all planes and this isn't hard to fly. Can't speak to speed because it seems fast to me. And, if you're in a wide open space vs a park, yes, everything will seem slower respectively.

    • @hechtspeed

The comment about being hard to fly and slow were in reference to comments others have made on various social media platforms. I do not agree with those statements as i mentioned in the video
