I was curious about the weight as well. Perhaps later you can let us know if there seems to be much of a difference in overall weight and if the CG was affected. It sure looks marvelous, and I'll bet it will have a great presence flying !
Great job! The scheme makes it stand out really nice.
Great work! Does painting over servo arms/ ball links/ control arms and hinges impact their operation at all? I have a foamie I want to repaint but sticking/jamming of those items concerns me thx
@@koko-wt1ub no..so long as you dont get a bunch of paint on them. I left some off because the model wasnt assembled yet. But a couple stayed on. No biggie
Looks great brent! Sure changes it's appearance! Your quickie paint job is much better than eflites paint job! Keep up the great videos, you really bring alot to our hobby. Thanks Robert
That looks great.I can't wait to see you fly this,it will really look sweet in the air. Thanks Brent.
@@jettechdonatkins thanks! Maybe tomorrow! Im looking forward to it :)
Not sure if you noticed but they just painted a real F-16 USAF Viper Demo Team in those colors
@@Mikeylikesit1968 yep. Pretty cool :)
Killer job Brent. I found this video yesterday of the Viper Demo team performing recently. . Love that they went with the proto paint scheme! ua-cam.com/video/Vp6lKM6GCJE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ThisisFlight Also, So cool your son is building the Guillows PT-17 . I built one of those when I was about his age, as well, in the late 70's
Wicked. Sounds even better with that prop. Gotta put brakes on it now. Friction might work like you said though. Great flying bro. That three point look right! Glad you got the gear worked out.
@@ModelAV8RChannel thanks dude! Yeah i just reworked the tail wheel. I can add as much friction as i want to it. Dont want to put too much on the mains because it will hammer them on touchdown. I need to work on getting the idle lower too
That looks brilliant bro. I had no idea when you sent me the pics that was a one day job...pretty amazing! Looks like the new retro Viper demo team plane.
Looks really good and will have much better visibility
Amazing what a little paint and patience can do to dress up these birds. Beautiful job Brent.
Nice job.. Well done.
Lookin Sharp !
I’m sure you saw the recent full size late model F-16 that was painted in this scheme to celebrate its years of service - perfect timing. I’m going to work on my airliner foamie bash today with inspiration from you - let’s hope I finish it. Amazing how the red shows how oversize the wings are on the E-Flite bird. Beautiful work as always
Great job Brent. Great results. The decals really set off the new paint. Lookin forward to your vids these days.
Man that was a one day paint job...it looks great and is easier to see for sure.
Thanks! Turned out great for 0 prep work :) I didnt even start till like 330. Had to fix the bearcat first lolol
Yeah, that should be much easier to see. Did you weigh it before and after?
@@txkflier i did not. Should have. Ill get a complete weight and compare that to my other one
Fast drying paint ! Rattle can or airbrush? Acrylic? Nice work! Looks great 👍
@@johnkelley4874 rattle can. Just rustoleum. And yeah...it wasnt really fully dry between steps. I have very little patience hahahaha
@@johnkelley4874 Who didn’t watch the video?
My friend has one of these models. But I also live in Norway. Your project turned out amazing. A joy to follow the process
Very cool! Its a amazing flying model. Never seen another one. Would love to see your friends!
Very nice. What did you use to cut the canopy and frame? Looks like a nice straight cut.
Just a dremel with a cut off wheel
@@hechtspeed thanks
i have an 88 inch spitfire and wheel mounts are always moving around..... what a nice build and great paint work to make a very original model...super cool and some good landings. Landings are the addictive part of the flying of these big boys....for me i always make sure i have a good approach and not a last minute turn into the approach...only do this when you really know your model. Know how slow your plane flies with flaps on and do this up at a safe speed and try to get the point when it does not respond or close to the stall as this is kinda what you need to understand and know when you do make great landings. For me i get the approach tight with flaps and slightly more power on once comitted to the approach and when putting flaps on i make sure i am descending then try very hard to slowly come down and getting a nice flat slow touchdown gently pushing the elevator forward as the plane will naturally go back on its tail creating lift at the time u dont want it....once it has nailed the landing you can also power up a bit for good landing control when it has been level flown onto the ground rather then flopping it onto the ground nose up which can also be done but not for me. Unless you draw out an imaginary landing path and curve in your head before attempting landing i really dont think it can ever be anything other than hit and miss.... not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but just my thoughts on landings..... apologies for a long comment but its the big attraction of heavy fixed wing.
That thing is as Bearcat as it could possibly be, it flies like, sounds like, lands like, and obviously has the appearance and essence of the mighty Bearcat - what an absolute beauty!
Thankyou and i totally agree! It really does have the attitude of the real deal. Maybe more than any other f8f model ive seen before :)
What a gorgeous model, and you can really fly.
What a beast, amazing flight!
Watched an awesome video about the history of the Bearcat yesterday. Amazing plane. Looks great.
so,,, so,,, so,, lol
So so so maybe write me a proper script to follow lol.
Looks great man, I just added some electron retracts into some gear mounts that I made. What kind of plant did you use on this beauty? I’m glad your event went well, you were working hard to get her ready prior! I am sure everyone loved it
Thanks! Used klasscote paint
What was the cause of the flutter? It appears to be fixed in the latest video..
The elevator flutter on first flight? Incredibly flexible elevator torque arms. Noe has direct connection and servos in the stabs. No issues now :)
LOL, Fun weekend, it's my Stang with the belly scratches ;) Good meeting you,, your Bearcat was best in show IMO
Thanks! That was a great belly landing! Hope it wasnt hurt too bad
@@hechtspeed kind grinded up the fiberglass scoop a bit,,, miss my grass runway back home ;)
@@450excpilot what was the cause of the gear failure? Hose pop off?
Awesome flight and a nice 3 pt Bearcat landing.
Super sweet ! ? What model is it
Thanks!!! 1990 vintage norwegien model products
@@hechtspeed Thanks Great Sound Too
@@ritchiethorup thanks! I agree! Not as cool as a radial but better than most 2 cycles
Very very impressive! I'm sure you'll fix the tailwheel issue easily, but what a lovely job you made of this, flies beautifully neutral too. 👍👍👍
Thanks!! Its a incredible flying model. Then again all my bearcats have been :)
Very nice flight brother, looks like she's dialed in for sure! Great job 😎👍🇺🇸
Thanks man :)
Your flight routine is very gracefully executed. Kinda reminds me of watching Howard Pardue’s demonstrations.
Thanks! I base my manuvers on one of steve hintons f8f demos. Sadly i never got to see pardue fly his in person
@@hechtspeed Steve is likely a better reference. I was fortunate enough to get to know Howard personally in the early 90’s when I was doing a lot of air to air photography. He practiced at his home field in Breckenridge TX, and I witnessed several of those, as well as his shows. I have seen Steve do many great demos, but just not in the F8.
Beautiful model and flight. Inspiring stuff. I know it's just lens compression but a couple of those hills seemed very close..Guessing you get used to it 🙂 Great work
They are very close! Hahahha
And thankyou!
That is one awesome bear cat. Nice flying!❤
Wow. Great looking cat !
Really like the SBD. My dad was rear gunner, radio man in one during WW Two. In the south pacific. Thanks for sharing! PEACE ✌️
Maybe ask the CD to kill the music for next year. To loud and obnoxious.
Happy Birthday Bentley! Great flying my man!
Woooooooow!!! .., what a great vid!!! Great action, so many amazing planes. That formation flying was crazy good… so glad you put this video together; GREAT JOB!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great event ! I saw some excellent scale detail, some great flying, and wonderful landings. ( A lot of talent to be sure! ) And I noticed some of our great WW II aces were represented: John Landers, Alex Vraciu, Neel Kearby, and Chuck Yeager w/ two planes.
Awesome coverage! Random thoughts - That is as good of a PT-19 as I've ever seen. The Dragon Rapide you closed in on is a plane I wish someone would do... 60" foam or balsa...just light. Nothing like a gaggle of gasser warbirds screaming by. Bentley flew the piss out of that Stang...
Yeah that pt19 is mind blowingly scale. Such a cool model. I love the 19
