I think including the grandmother was actually a pretty good way of covering this "fill in Gabriel's background" stuff. My own grandmother tells me stuff I already know about my family all the time, I assume others' do the same.
It's an even bigger leap to make the connection between the book and the clock because you're not supposed to know the book in the shop is your grandfather's yet. The book is written by a man named Ritter and not Knight. You don't know the family's real name yet.
"I guess there's not really any molasses in there." Recipe online, it's about 1/7th-1/8th of the filling, with most of the rest being flour, sugar, and water.
I didn't even really recognize it as a dragon...and I don't even remember HOW I knew to put it to three. It wasn't because of the poem. (later after this entry) Wait a second, ~looks closely~ it DOES look like a dragon! How the heck did I miss that?!
The number three is a powerful number in Pagan lore. The three rings intertwined is a symbol of unity. My first thought for the rings was an ouroboros or the sun.
@WarthogDemon I used hints to get the solution of this puzzle. It is required, though it's not required to do it on Day 1 (there are a number of things you can do during the first couple of days).
My guess was to put the dragon at 3 o'clock During World War II, people with German names would Anglicize their names (e.g. Schmidt to Smith) due to the hatred toward the Germans.
Schattenjäger means Shadow=Schatten and Hunter=jäger in german gives many words how are really two words but i think in these game it is more like the name of a Organisation and not Shadowhunter i would explain it more like some people how hunt the bad deamons or so. Mfg. Lancelot
Gabriel sounds SO CREEPY. What were they thinking when they had Tim Curry voice the main character? He sounds like the douchiest creep ever. Maybe that's what they were going for =/
Based on his introduction, I honestly think that is what they were going for. Lots of his starting dialogue establishes him as an unkempt womanizer, so being a douche just kinda fits

Forgot to mention this last video, but, I love Gabe's relationship with his grandma. She' s sweet!
manegirl93416 It's hard not to love a sweet old woman like that isn't it?
This lady better be protected at every damn cost.

"Be careful of the dust!" "Why? Is it likely to attack?"
I lol'd. That's exactly what I was thinking when she said that.

I thought I had to put the dragon at three o'clock and set the clock to another time.

Harley Harlequin Three is a number of power in many religions including the Christian Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

@PerryWhyte Is it bad that I knew immediately what you're referring to? :P
Nice playthrough
Gabriel should get a melasis pie from the Grandma and throw it at Yeti. Or a mummy in Benin.
I didn't realize at first the clock face moved.
So, as I suspected, it's NOT a blind playthrough... Too bad. The clock in the attic gave you away.
He never does blind playthroughs, save for the bonus episode of Space Quest 6
Man, that clock puzzle hella annoyed me n my dad, i mean it took us years 2 figure out the rite puzzle.
The two rings inside each other that is. For the sun
I also couldn't identify the things on the clock and therefore didn't solve this. But the worst puzzle was the rythm with the drums.....
My guess was to put the dragon at 3 o'clock

God I would rather here ganny's voice when you click everything instead of the voice the game creator's used ~.~
thanks god there are online translate nowadays
Repeating of the number 3, Does Gabriel need to decompress the main shuttlebay?
PerryWhyte Well the explosive decompression could blow all the dust away. LOL
+coasterville All it needs is to be deep-fried too. lol
The dragon looks like a mask
He comes from a slave owning family. Sounds like Forest Gump in this one.
Looks like they had some trouble with a Dashade... =p
I think this is another one of those translation errors.
@Dilandau3000
Whatever you do, dont use a tractor beam, we could all be watching this same video for years if you do

It means Shadow Hunter in this game..they translate it later in the game..in the plot of the game itself.
Leather pants ? Really ? Oh,come on, as if all of us in germany would wear those pants and Drink beer all Day...
Zeker een logische fout.

Yup. Grace outright calls him "a lout" at the beginning of the game.
