This message is important for me as a soon to be 37 year old. Especially, as a person with depression, it’s always important to hear messages of hope.

Appreciate the message freedom is amazing friendship arguably the strongest attraction for me, sure being aroace does have both pros and cons but still love the community An the identity as well as having a support both in family as well as outside the family

I agree, friend. And there's so many different kinds of freedoms that actually come with being aspec. There's freedom to pursue your passions, to define how relationships work for you, to decide which relationships aren't actually helping you grow in your identity and which ones do.

I’m still questioning whether I’m asexual and/or aromantic. But I definitely resonate with feeling a stronger platonic bond with people than romantic bonds with people.
Figuring this out is so hard though. I wish I could just figure it out already. 🤦🏽

@@Reed5016 Why do you need to? You’re you no matter your sexuality. It’s often fluid and sometimes you’ll be one thing and sometimes you’ll be another and it’s all okay just do what feels right to you. What I’ve found best is embracing the unknown. It’s exciting that you can be whatever you want whenever you want. Don’t box yourself in. 😊

@@jebmccandless6122I think it’s kind of invalidating to say that, my dude. No offense. Would you tell that to a lesbian?

@@Reed5016 only to a lesbian if they said they weren’t sure if they were a lesbian. Sorry I wasn’t trying to be invalidating but the opposite. I was trying to validate all spectrums.

Thank you for this message. I am a younger member of the aroace community, both in actual age & in learning my sexuality. I found this channel not long after figuring out Iwas aroace, & it's been so great in helping me feel confident in myself & my identity. I don't have much in the ways of stories or advice to give to others, but Ive already started to see myself that no matter how bad I think things will get, one way or another, things will work out okay. & I know the journey ahead won't be smooth, but Ill keep going.

    Such a lovely message ❤
My life has changed for the better since subtely accepting my Aro side in 2020(officially came out as Aroace in 2023).
I've gotten back into what I love which is live music, I've volunteered and by coincidence, met a queer friend when I came out to her and I go to my local queer cafe a lot!
To all younger Aspecs from a 36 year old, it definetly does get better 🌈💚💜

I think it's so valuable to share with younger aces that life does get better. I'm 47. The fever of allos dating slows down the older you get. Unless you have very weird friends they just accept you as you are and aren't focused on your lovelife or lack of it unless you are. Its less awkward being around couples too. There are struggles around what time people have available both in general and if they have kids but it's all manageable if you find the right friends and are tolerant about people's schedules. The freedom to do all sorts of things is so true also.

OK so first I want to say that even though I don’t really consider myself a content creator, almost all the content I share is to preach the gospel that friendship is essential and just as valid as path to love as any other. I share tons of videos with me and my friends, not because they’re awesome (even though they are) but to let other aspecs know they are worthy of love and it can take on many forms.

Secondly, a woman whose kids I grew up with passed away this past year. Her husband, the dad of her kids, died 40 years before. She went on to have a career in ministry as a single woman which was incredibly badass. She never remarried and I don’t think I heard anyone say, “How sad was it that she died alone?” No, she was surrounded by people who loved her, as I will be!

They say internet has made people more lonely.. I can't agree.. Here is where I finally found people like me. It's just so.. Cozy. So thank you again for making this world feel a bit more like family. 🫂
