lol I think this was the 1st time I've ever heard anyone curse on a Waves Video lol... "they were fantastic..... they really F***ED things up in a really nice way"...... lol
I feel that, like with most aspects of the internet , it's value of educating is fast diminishing... I'm trying to find a video with a tutorial on the de-essing of DPR 402 since I didn't use it for quite a while and all the videos I find are basic advertisements for the plug in... The industry starts caring less and less about what you re doing after you purchased a product and it's now all about getting you to buy it... So i'll probably have to find a huge video that's basically a manual or a manual instead of using the internet to really fast find how the function I wanna use is suposed to work... It wasn't like that a few years ago.... Also now the internet will try to send me DPR 402 in 10 different ways through advertisements allthough I have it for 5 years now....
Just turn down whatever’s feeding the bus. Proper gain structure is usually the cure for bus clipping. Making sure your daw is set to floating bit doesn’t hurt either.
@@busyboxst7 Or they need something to catch peaks while mixing and don't want to turn it down because they want it at a certain LUFS. And if its a drum bus if ur not soft clipping ur doing it wrong.
@@Byronic19134 , I guess it depends whether we're talking clipping coming into the bus or going out of it. Usually when someone says "clipping the bus" referring to software, it means too much was sent *to* the bus, resulting in nasty digital distortion. If multisort meant preventing clipping going out of the bus, I guess that's a different thing. I'll leave that to you all either way. If by soft-clipping the drum buss you mean redlining the in or out of the bussing in a software, I've never heard of anyone enjoying the sound of digital distortion, but to each his/her own I guess.
I know right! The moment he said that the hardware and plug sound identical, and implied that the plug is even better given the more precise de-esser section, I remembered that this is an advert so must be taken with a pinch of salt. The hardware is a great unit. Very vibey and rich sounding. One day I'll try the soft version.
One of the most underrated plugins!
@Fortnum Sound i bought one right after too! unfortuently the one I bought broke a few month after (ebay buy) and went back to the plugin! Have fun
thanks waves audio to bring us the very nice videos!
Just recently picked this up from Waves, and I really like it a lot. All I want to know is who on earth equalized the vocal for this video? hahaha
He sold me as soon as he said he used the classic analog BSS on the song "Peek-A-Boo."
The video is quite impressive~
he is saying that because he have to. He got a lot of money for that promotion. I'm sure he uses something completely different.
Like this compressor. Very usefull in a certain situations.
Compressor you have so many do de-verb for recording vocals at home !!!
Great song, crazy sounds!!!
I just love hearing people talk about compressors... who needs to hear the ACTUAL COMPRESSOR... lol
But he really really likes it.
Quite apart from it's utility in recording, and wonderful it is too, I use a DPR-402 inserted into Voicemeeter to manage my Windows audio levels. 👍
Sounds like a really good idea! Love it, the DPR seems like quite a good compressor

This plugin is great for drum machines. Very punchy.
Is it good idea to use this BSS for a limiter on a bus to prevent clipping?

I dont know, i think the outboart DPR 402 is better than any plug in
I think ever body knows that so its not the question. The question is can it come close enough to capture the same vibe and envelopes

Skip this video, if you want to hear anything... this is a useless promotion video without any sound... just talking...
