Great video. I used a well worn, standard fordson supermajor with a rear forklift, in the early 1990’s, somewhat character building loading & unloading lorry’s with trolleys of pot plants, lovely old thing
Interesting. You don't have a super Major. You have a super Major front cowl. What you have is a probably pre 1958 tractor .Your tractor has drum brakes and a low level throttle lever..The Super was introduced in the early 1960's and had disc brakes tight against the transmission housing.
Oh ok I was told if it has the gauges where they are it's a super but i did notice she did not have disk brakes. If you like the channel why not subscribe!
I think this is so cool! You could be hired out by someone who has a large estate, or big lot that needs mowing. Ford manufactured many of this type of tractor here in the US, and are treasured, they are a workhorse!
Hi, good to see your Super Major 6 cylinder, with the Major and the Simms pump you only need to bleed to the pump and put the cold start in and she will fire up you don't need to open the injectors with a Simms injection pump, but good to put in the cold start
this is my kind of channel!! subscribed! I own a standard fordson major diesel from the 50s, I have it since I was a boy in the 90s. Going to be restored soon
No, once I rewatched it and saw you taking it for a test drive, it is pretty big with it’s stretched frame…it just looked small when you were standing next to it, talking…
If you ever go to Cromer [North Norfolk] have a look on the beach, it is a Fordson graveyard, about a dozen or so used on the beach to haul boats up the gravel beach.
Loving this boyo 👍👍 It sounded like it ran sweet as a nut, looking forward to seeing the work on it. When are you getting another SD1 😉 It's slightly strange seeing you in 4k 🤣🤣 I'm used to the old vids.
I hope you wedged the diff lock pedal down on the DavidBrown before you removed the right hand hub reduction or you will struggle to get the half shaft back in 🤦♂️
this is not a super major, only a nose cone from a super major. It should have the dash on top of the tank with the throttle control, the high low range is standard major setup, the super major was the opposite with gear lever up for high range, no rear lift arms and painted yellow, probabley an industrial model.
Welcome to the darkside I have recently purchased a power major that needs tlc. Empire blue is the 0riginal colour of yours. Are you going to keep the yellow? Oh the suspense...
That's an E1A Major with a 6D not a super, super major had throttle on the colum and gauges were not down where yours are, also looks industrial so no hydraulics. Still a nice machine but not a super. Nice 6D note though, all is good.

Great sounding tractor, thanks for sharing and for the nature of your presentation as always.

Yeah they are great I will be taking it around local and going to shows
Super addition to your fleet. Perfect that you can drive it on the road without a licence. Slap L plates on and away you go 😁
Hahaha glad you like it and yes that is why I bought it! Don't forget to subscribe!
A super major has the instrument cluster on top of the fuel tank
Disclaimer: Never start a tractor from the ground beside an accessory drive.
Yes even thought it was diss engaged but point taken
@@classic_britain Should see which is the slowest not the fastest!
Brilliant, that looks fun to drive. You could use it on the road as a daily vehicle if you wanted to. Needs a wash though 😁👍🏻
Yeah I will be using it and next job is brakes and wash it!

You’re right about the sound it makes 👍
Yeah makes a great noise!

Thanks for the sub I am glad you liked it!
I always like Ford son majors. I really like the double does. Which was two super majors put together.
Make sure you have checked the oil level in the injector pump they have thier own sump and often wear out because people don't know to check.
I grew up in the 70’s on a farm - I grew up with vintage tractors- especially as my dad owned several.
Yeah they are solid old things! Don't forget to sub
Great vid Sheldon!! I’m Thomez from the smp btw
Hahaha I figured as such!
I was not expecting this…what a great little tractor 😊
Hahaha she's not little LOL!

Oh nice mate would love to see that
“Anything old and British we tend to give screen time”…. I expect to appear soon then!
Bahahaha good one
I reckon you should turbo charge it for gits and shiggles. David will love it, especially when you drag race him.
I could but I am not going to due to the cost of fuel
Really enjoyed this video, I alway wanted a tractor so one day maybe 🤔
No need to crack off the injector pipes on an inline pump when bleeding the fuel system.
Loving this boyo 👍👍
It sounded like it ran sweet as a nut, looking forward to seeing the work on it.

Hahaha not getting another SD1 they are shite and money pits.
And not 4K mate just good HD ;)

Lovely job 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜🚜
Glad you like it
I've never seen any need to slacking the injector pipes on in line pump
Tbh super major had the instruments and throttle under the steering wheel plus disc brakes

She sounds lovely!
But a standard diesel major not a super major
New daily driver?
Yep
Did David tie the diff lock pedal of the 1190 down?

Ahh sorry I missed your live dude! X

Still quite the machine.
Is this a perkins p6 engine?
when you showed the tractor i could almost smell it...
Hahaha yeah she does smell a tad LOL! Don't forget to subscribe!
Not being a smart arse but that’s actually not a super major, it’s a Fordson diesel major, maybe by now you’ve found this out?
There about 15 coments sayting this
@@classic_britain thank you, why did you say it was a super major in the first place, not familiar with Fordsons?
@@glennlingard7851 First one I had sold it now
