Cobb left the scene of his kidnapping and mild burns to trudge home, discovering chaos in the wake of the fleeing wagon. At one spot he discovered the local produce stall Cornelius Bagshot once frequented, knocked over by a person who dove into it to dodge the wagon, knocking produce into the nearby butcher's shop where the two proprietors loudly argued with each other. "You got vegetables into my chicken and bacon!" "Well *_you_* got chicken and bacon into my vegetables!" Inspired, Cobb would go on to create a new salad that would become the latest darling of the Volusport gustatory community, fittingly named the "Cobb Salad." Enriched by the fame of his new dish, Cobb never had to resort to robbing people in crime alleys again and, in fact, gave them an *extremely* wide berth.

Kasimir’s spider contract thing truly sparks my intrigue. I love how separating the contract in two parts (faking death and skipping town) kinda saved Kasimir’s life here. Because atleast one was fulfilled, so killing him wouldn’t be fair by any means. Also from here on out it’ll be interesting to see how carefully Johnny words Kasimir’s contracts because it could mark the difference between life and death for the character. Also I would love to see the shenanigans attached to the contract thing and the work arounds. Like imagine if Kasimir has figured out that he’s not gonna be able to fulfil his end of the contract. So could he escape death by making the other party fail theirs before his does. Because technically the mark goes away the moment one party has failed their end of the contract and so Kasimir’s life would be spared. Really hope they delve into this.
It's worth noting that failing his end of a contract will only kill him if he already has another level 3 harm which iirc he doesn't currently have. It does mean that Kasimir does have to be fairly careful about making contracts he cannot fulfil because if it happens twice without enough time to heal in between or he suffers level 3 harm from somewhere else things become very dangerous.

So is this the first mission that just... failed? As in the goal of successfully faking Cornelius's death was very much not completed? I find it hilarious that Kasimir and Zillah of all people were the first ones to botch a job.

And if that's what you have in mind
Won't even try the subtle route
Good luck with your crimes, 'cause I'm stayin' out.
(sounds of fireworks, goat galloping, and screaming over instrumental)
I'm stayin' out!
Cool!
Luke’s flawless writing of dumpster made my day.
Oh dear. The 1 and everyone's reaction to it.
Zillah's 3 on rolling for how well putting the guy in Cornelius' clothes is a riot and the trailing feathers remind me of Harry in Home Alone getting covered in feathers.
"Coats the room in white-hot flame." I made the same face as Kasimir and immediately thought of white phosphorous. I love how much chaotic this was than even usual.
I love how the music did a dramatic dun-dun-dun as the engagement roll 1 came into focus (47:34)
The dramatic tension of the inferior bomb is just, comedy gold ❤️
this episode really is the epitome of "Pride Cometh Before the all'
Big love for Johnny, always!
I'm a bit late to the party, but that was great! Love that Johnny, who usually barely breaks character, was giggling throughout the whole episode:)
(plus, now I know what they're meant by worrying about "going too far" in the last Oxventure podcast- congratulations on 100 episodes, by the way!)
As the poet once said, "all's well that ends with a player calling their GM a bastard":)
Johnny's reaction to the bomb deserves awards.
So is this the first mission that just... failed? As in the goal of successfully faking Cornelius's death was very much not completed? I find it hilarious that Kasimir and Zillah of all people were the first ones to botch a job.
that was so great, i can't wait to see how our new favorite npc Cob fairs next time. now that he has been named he needs to make a return.
Kasamir and Zillah could quit their life of crime and run a totally legitimate estate auction slash debt collection agency, which is simultaneously more legal and less ethical than the crime.
i love picturing the crime alley scene with zillah and kasimir posing as a very fancy but incredibly buff couple lol
My; Jane/Zillah looks downright *scheming* in the thumbnail 😍
Or she’s not too happy if there’s a in-game cannon reason we’ll find out she’s had to change her top 😂
I love that when they needed a quite, private space that went to a pub instead of the abandoned building they own that they were standing right outside of 😂
The bell sale at the end. Priceless 😂😂😂
I mean, that was just rubbing salt in the curse mark burn. Nevertheless, I think everyone burst out laughing.
I'm so sad I ended up busy and not able to watch the live but still a great episode. Thanks Luke, the OX crew, Johnny and the editors for the great show
Kas and Zillah sassing the auction-goer made me giggle. Though, to be fair, this whole episode did.
Everybody at the beginning: this is the score that can't go wrong Everybody at the end: this was the most hellish score yet
Love the Johnny, Jane and Luke dynamic so much.
I NEED MORE KASIMIR AND ZILLAH!!!!! THEY"RE ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!!!!
I think they could make clear what the disadtvantages of going heavy versus going light are. There should have been some in a social heist because essentially Kasimir lugged around a heavy backpack while pretending to be the help to get people to their proper seats and such.
Writing Joe Cobb into your story, only to have Jane and Johnny completely shut down any npc developpement, is gold story telling. Loving the 2nd watch of BITD and Like DM'ing in general
Death? Let's hope Barnaby didn't order squiffy to kill someone
As if that'd ever happen.
At most he'd get a servant to tell Squiffy to get a servant to kill someone.
Ah, classic Squiffy!
I think this genuinely might be the first plan that went very wrong and failed. And I loved every moment of it.
What about Edvard’s and Lilith’s trying to save Screws from being killed in just a year by a bone scythe on Crimsnight by getting him to change because of Luke’s bad roll of wether he learned his lesson? 😂🤣😂🤣
@@oxfanblink4115 I'd still consider that a success since Lilith did get to visit her family and Edvard got to torment a young version of his brother. Also, I'd consider that a success just because they were able to restrain themselves from murdering him.
@@oxfanblink4115 I forgot about that 🤣 but yeah I guess that's two that went wrong.
@@CodaBlairLucarioEmperor True it was successful in those ways. But even though it wasn’t their fault it still went wrong for them since their main aim was to convince Screws to change
HOW on EARTH were these two the ones that had a score go this catastrophic?!
I imagine zilla takes Casamir to a hospital and spends her time picking fights in the carpark while he is being treated
I saw Zillah and Kasimir were in the score and I thought "wow, this might actually go pretty well"...
Zilla had some serious Lady Dimitrescu vibes when she choked out Cobb in her dress wearing the pearls.
"if there's any, ANY score that's going to go flawlessly. It's with this combination"
I love having Fridays off.
Who else was expecting/hoping for the marvelous mechanical man to be inside that victorian steampunk dumpster
It's not how much money the bookkeeper owed, but who's money he was making the bets with.
The only thing better than when the dice work with the party is when they decide to make everyone's lives ever so very difficult XD
Absolutely wild episode so excited for the next one!
I feel like there were so many simpler ways for them to solve this problem.
Welcome to TTRPGS lol
Am dead from Johnny's Billy Joel joke. Dead. 😵
Next time Johnny try’s to fly on a plane there gonna show him that clip” sometimes you just wake up and need a bomb that day” and deny him flying lol
What this video showed me is, as a DM/GM, just how much you can move things along by just saying "Sorry, remind me of the plan?"
I think this adventure was a perfect representation of sods law
I wonder if Johnny was kicking themselves later at drawing those pistols from load then not using them to finish the job? Still, a lot of fun!
The only pairing that hasn’t happened is one I think we’ve all been anticipating: Ed and Barney.
So I see Kasimir taking a page from Egbert, and by page I mean bomb.
So the only team up left is Barnaby and Edvard, oh that's gonna be fun.
Oh, I hadn't even thought about Barnaby and Edvard...that's gonna be a treat
Wonder if Edvard will be as tempted to kill Barnaby as much as he and Lilith were to kill Screws despite them trying to save him from being killed by the Ghost Of Crimsnight yet to come by trying to get him to change 🤔
The best thing about rewatching a series is catching details you previously missed. In this episode: "Screw it, we'll do it live!" from Kazamir.
"This is a nailed on winner" yup🤣
This one went pretty dark, but I like how it panned out. Do like me a consequence. Also, did they actually clean up the store at some point? Seems to me, if Cornelius could trace them to it, so could more nefarious forces. Honestly, bombing it might be a good idea. Would confuse things. I'd be worried it would lead back to Ella, but it never lead the Dimmers back to her, so maybe she's fine, until they connect the dots.
That was absolutely bloody brilliant, 11/10. xD
