    The tile sampler color/opacity info was exactly what I was looking for - thank you so much!!

    This is a life saver, I would have never thought to use transparency to do layer ordering.
    Thanks a ton!

    So glad I looked this up before trying it myself, literally the exact pattern that I needed! Very simple but clever way of laying it all out, thank you!!

    thanks for this. You can also use only one tile sampler and put a crop node after it and it is done.

    What is the transparent background node you have connected to the Tile Sampler Color ? I have tried having a Uniform Color with alpha set to zero, but it does not work.
    Thanks in advance:)

      @OMG3Dmax 4 роки тому +2

      you need to unscrew the alpha to zero in Uniform color prnt.sc/ur640o

    • @Braytonks3D
      @Braytonks3D 4 роки тому +4

      You can either use an RGBA Merge node where you plug your grayscale into R, G and B and then put your mask into the Alpha channel or you can use an Alpha Merge Node by connecting your grayscale info to a gradient map (to convert to color) and then plugging the gradient map into the RGB input of the Alpha Merge and your mask into the Alpha input.
      They both accomplish the same thing :)
      EDIT: Oh, I see now what youre talking about now with the Background, My answer is irrelevant to your question but I'll leave it there in case it helps anyone with understanding the Pattern Input setup :facepalm:

    Why are the parameters of the top node Tile Sampler Color not shown. Global offset.

      Sure thing. He doesn't have a break down I just know from talking go him personally. But in his zelda plinth piece he uses this in the detail in the middle around the triangles

    Hey Jaakko you can just blend circle shapes for that :)

    • @yaschan99
      @yaschan99  5 років тому

      Really? Could you show me?

    • @Braytonks3D
      @Braytonks3D 4 роки тому +2

      If you mean creating a bunch of discs with the shape node and then using blend to add them together to get the original target shape before the tile sampler, yes you could do it this way (there are lots of ways to get the same results in this program) but I actually think Jaakko has done that part very efficiently here with the stripes -> Cartesian to Polar, leaving plenty of room for easy adjusting later on.
      Maybe I am misunderstanding which part of the graph you are talking about, however,
