Mate you are an absolute legend! These videos are helpful, straight to the point and easy to follow. Helped me heaps with assessment related work. 11/10 vid right here
@@JeremySeiner Oh, yes... the one I am making now is now less complicated now that I'm using the waveform node. One small tip, though, don't plug your height map into the base material. For some reason, the details don't pop as a much, until I plug it in directly into a normal map output. I'm on SD 2018 so I don't know if this has changed.
Hey Jeremy! It's Tristan from John Brown's sculpture class. Great tutorial! I'll definitely be referring to your channel for all my substance needs. Keep up the great work!
very great and usefull video Jeremy, just a question, what version of substance designer are you using? because I am using substance 2023 and so far the nodes blend and levels dont exist anymore, at least not with those names
Hey thanks! Glad to hear it's useful. This version I think was 2018? Somewhere around there. I haven't upgraded in a while but that seems strange that a fundamental node like Blend or Levels has been changed. You should be able to find the Blend and Levels nodes by hitting space bar and they should come up with the popup. Or you can find them in the toolbar across the top of the graph view as far as I'm aware.
Hi mate, your tutrorial is amazing but I have an issue at 18'04'', the connection between the tile generator and the blend aren't working, I mean I have not visualisation of the fabric on the 3d cloth ball window, do you know why ? I have tried to do the whole thing but it's not working. thank you for your help
I am dragging an OBJ file from another monitor. You can drag and drop geometry files into the viewport if you’d like to preview your materials on them. Since they have updated the software, the template is now called “Metallic Roughness”. That should give you the same output nodes.
@@JeremySeiner Hey , Thanks very much all downloaded and found your tutorial very informative and has given me a basic understanding of how to create a texture. Really enjoyed following along, will now attempt to create a new material all by myself.
I think that’s another good option. The waveform makes it easier for me to visualize the kind of strand I’m making but I can see warping a circle work too.
Hmmm. I would first check to see if it’s connected to the top input (pattern input 1), then change the “pattern” property to ‘image input’. Let me know if this helps!
It was a good quick tutorial, but the material doesn't have any height to it. Still, I think this was a perfect video for people just starting out in SD.
Okay, so, that’s my comment from my school account, and I would like to clarify. As my professor pointed out (it slipped my mind) it’s all an illusion. I was looking at the edges and was concerned that you couldn’t actually see the bumps. But that’s normal.
What kind of fabrics would you like to make in Substance Designer?
A robust Velvet would be a great one.
Could you show us how to make modeling clay? Just like play doh? Thank you!
@@doreenvoltine Awesome idea! I’ll look into it =)
human skin.
@learn marvelousdesigner free Recently did this myself, and it was VERY challenging and I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE of it
Amazing tutorial. I hope more are on the way. Also, the website links are not working. You might wanna check that out.

@@JeremySeiner One last thing... I've found that the Height to Normal map node gives me WAY more detail...
@@KRGraphicsCG great! I will definitely need to try that ☺️ thanks!

Hi, could you let me know, how to place cloth wear in 3D view.. Wishing you a happy new year.
Hello Rajesh 😊 You can drag the OBJ file into the 3D View and it should show up there.
Great stuff, as always!
Thanks!
THANK YOU
Perfect

Hey thanks Kevin! Hmmm try right clicking on an empty space in the graph and choose “view outputs in 3D view” let me know if that works!
Thank you :)
What are you dragging on 3:26? And where is PBR Metallic? I have just Metallic.

Hi , really wanted to start on this great tutorial but I am unable to download the cloth Geo.

Why do you use a wavefront instead of just warping the circle?
I think that’s another good option. The waveform makes it easier for me to visualize the kind of strand I’m making but I can see warping a circle work too.
Can’t find quad transform
I can't seem to get the tile generator to show anything, what do I do?
