Absolutely fantastic Scotty! I’m honored you chose my request as the first Sub requested video. The M70 sniper veil and spooky voice set the tone for a cool Halloween type video! Some really cool gear you have, looking forward to seeing what other “secrets” you have hidden away haha

It's always interesting to see surplus collections, that Swiss 'pizza camo' is top notch, I have a Swiss combat shirt, love it.

I like my VDV mess kit, I have 2 covers, one is OD and the second is Flora but both are thin cotton fabric. Not very sturdy.

I think I first saw your vdv mess kit, and that's when I decided to get one. Theyvare really nice. I think if I ever use it I will need to put something under the lid to seal it. Ya I was in full character in this video🤔😂😂😂😂. Thanks for watching brother👍👍👍👍

Hi Scotty, great stuff you have there! I have the M-9 bayonet also, but mine is an Ontario.
Just to let you know, boy do I feel like a big idiot now. I've had the Alice Radio pack all along. I got mine online quite a few years ago for a great price and in new condition. I guess I must not have ever tried to mount it on an Alice frame. It is indeed shorter than the regular medium ALICE pack and you have that room on the bottom of the frame to add the Modular Sleep System carrier. A couple days ago I put that pack together like yours. Thanks so much Scotty! I've been frustrated all these years with the MOLLE upgrades and wondering what I was doing wrong and why the sleep system carrier was dangling so much! I don't recall anyone ever mentioning that they were using the Radio pack and not the medium ALICE, Thanks to you, everything is working out now. Can't wait to try it out. God Bless ,brother.

Actually Jeff, you shouldn’t feel like an idiot. I did some digging in my collection because of your comments. And I found that the ALICE radio packs have different sizes. I have one in Woodland with the antenna flap on the lid that is the same exact size as my OD Green Medium, and I have another one in Woodland with the antenna flap on the lid that is shorter than both previously mentioned packs. The shortest one also has extra padding by where the shoulder straps attach. I should make a video comparing them.

Everyone say hello to Dr. Evil Scotty!! I have carried my first VDV canteen kit for more miles than I care to remember and will continue to do so, it is hands down my favorite canteen kit!
Lol...lol ..🤪🤪🤪. I might have to eventually use mine. I do really like it. What do you like best about yours?
@@scottysurvival the fact that it is an indestructible 1 liter canteen, 1 liter bail pot and 500ml cup that all nests together! I really should make a lid for the pot and cup as that is all that is missing. That canteen has seriously only missed one backpacking trip in years and that was because I was going light......but still carried a 9" khukuri.....go figure lol.

@@scottysurvival nope. No leaks. I might replace the original rubber seal with some layers of cork though. I didn't with mine but if I remember I had to seat the seal properly.
@@turtlewolfpack6061 ok thanks. That's a good ideal. I figured if I do use it one day I would probably have to seal the cap. I have some food grade seal material that might work or like you said some cork material.
I have a Marine Corp ILBE it may be a little heavy but I've gotten a lot of use out of it, a great pack. Wouldn't trade it for anything .
O ya that's what I'm talking about. The one I have is very compy and built like a tank. Thanks for watching 🤗
awesome video Scotty! thanks for showing us your items. me in particular my favorite or prized item would be my first surplus item, a bundeswehr field shirt that i bought back in 2006 when i was in high school. i dont use it anymore but i found the big pockets really useful whenever i went hiking.

Not yet. I will be soon. I mentioned in a video or two back that I will be doing a repair video on it, but will have to wait a little bit for my father to get back because we will be doing the repair together

I'm not from the rockford area, but I did check out the surplus store in Elgin also. It's a very nice store also, just smaller. It's actually owned by the father of the guy who ownes the one in rockford. Thanks for watching
