What a beautiful and evocative video. Majestic, dreamy. The Earth is amazing. And so is aviation. Bravo on what you captured and composed on this one. Your content and editing, presentation, is simply first class. Creative. And I really felt as if I went on a lovely and inspiring trip there, it was so absorbing. P.S. the skiiers on the left capped it off. Human life and land use juxtaposed with millions of years of mountain formation, planetscape. Yes, definitely, Bravo.
Love the approach. In Switzerland during flight training we are going there for the "Nusstorte" :) It really can be a challenge flying there with a SEP during hot summer days.
I love this approach, especially in the evening after tower closure - time to feel a bit bigger in a tiny glider with 2km runway - much better than the 100m stripe beside - the difficulty for the gilider, using the full length of the runway and not touch down too early :-)
To watch this video while listening to one of my FAVORITE songs by Lindsey Stirling just made my day. This is definitely going to be added to my favorites file.
Haha. If you read the NOTAW to that Airport, you will see that short of RWY 21, the Swiss military is regularly training anti aircraft shooting :-) I was one of them. Big guns... Then again, I found it to be the most beautiful VFR approach I ever flew. Try it in a Diamond, you pretty soon realize that not only are there very high mountains around you but with 5600 ft AMSL its the highest Airport in Europe and your propeller engine somehow slowly starts coughing. Easy turns to base and final. Your aircraft does not have the performance there to get you out of a stall and the mountains require you to use every inch of space you have to make those turns (for extra thrill, do it during summer...). I guess everyone learning to fly in Switzerland needs to do that approach at least once (flying through the Alps being one requirement for your license...). Its challenging, but great when you do it :-)))
Absolutely cool location. I had been there before the rule became active to get specific certification (VFR only). Now, many Years later I've got my certification and been there by RNP approach and departure, both of which are quite challenging, at least in a single engine airplane to adhere to the required climb gradient. Of course your video is much more spectacular.
Thanks for sharing. I've flown into Engadin/Samedan a few times, though the approach I've experienced from this end of the valley followed the valley floor, with a late turn in over the gap in the small hillock before the runway. The approach from the eastern end of the valley is far scarier, especially from the north, as you don't see the opening to the valley until you're almost flying past it, and at that stage you are well below the peaks directly ahead and there's just a curtain of rock in front. The bank to turn into the valley is also very severe from that direction. Also the take off up the valley is quite scary, as the valley floor rises up and you have those steep foothills directly ahead immediately after wheels up and then you're heading straight towards a wall of rock. The turn north is also only visible at the last minute and from the passengers perspective, you're looking down at the mountain tops from what feels like only a couple of hundred feet. Not much room for error, either way.
After viewing your Samedan video I used X-Plane to fly with the Sikorsky helicopter around the same airport! Thanks for your very nice channel! Well done!
Wow Michelle, this is so nice, to have a look from the top at that tremendous area, where I love to bike in summer or ski in wintertime... Do you know the 'Cherusin Stübli' ? :-) Regards from Jupiter!
Hahha people cross country skiing next to the taxi way?? That's amazing. I really want to go on holiday there now because I am really into cross country skiing.
Honestly, your videos keep encouraging me and convincing me to pursue my dream career. I will be the 1st Gen pilot in my family. getting connections, opportunities, information, training on my own. I do wonder though if you can talk about seniority system that goes on with airlines. What airlines expect and such until you are a captain.
Question please. It seems to me, on a VFR day, a pilot could slip into the valley on the left of the approach, seen on the video, and then, one mile out, make a slight left turn to final - all to avoid flying over the high hills that were flown over on final, in the video. Of course, the video itself does not tell the whole story. Thanks.
I grew up in Montana and learned to fly in a Cessna 172 and 182 off of a grass and gravel strip just north of Yellowstone Park (MT48). Seeing the mountains in this video reminded me of that, when you get up over the Rockies in the winter time it is so beautiful and serene. It did put a bit of a knot in my stomach thinking about flying a jet that low just because of the speed involved, not sure what the stall speed on it is, but it's probably close to the cruising speed of the old Cessna I would fly. Can you dirty a jet like that up and put it into cross control? Or do you just have to ride in on the glide slope and shoot the approach?
Amazing footage but the editing and the sound are failing the panorama for my taste. No editing and all in one take next time if possible. Thank you 🙏🏻 for great video!
Dag Michelle. Oefen je in privé tijd ook wel eens met flight simulator? Zo ja… Misschien wil je dat eens vastleggen op video, voor een nieuwe video upload op UA-cam. Nog veel veilige vlieguren! H.

She did. The song is "Crystallize" by Lindsey Stirling. She's a UA-cam sensation with her violin.
Love the approach. In Switzerland during flight training we are going there for the "Nusstorte" :) It really can be a challenge flying there with a SEP during hot summer days.
Lyndsay Srirling amazing..watch for updrafts and cross winds...looks a beautiful calm day.
I love this approach, especially in the evening after tower closure - time to feel a bit bigger in a tiny glider with 2km runway - much better than the 100m stripe beside - the difficulty for the gilider, using the full length of the runway and not touch down too early :-)
The lines of these white surfaces are so pure!!
Yes, beautiful approach. Thank you for taking us along !
Love your choice of background music for this video ☺
So beautiful Switzerland! Im Swiss. Checkout Meiringen Airbase with Swiss Air Force F/A-18
Thanks for sharing such beautiful places.
Extraordinary video! So beautiful! I can watch it again and again, a hundred times or more... Thank you!
I felt the cold throughout the video. Very pretty to look at though. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, Michele. Nice scenery on a difficult approach. Wouldn't want to try that in the soup.
Very good choice of music. I really liked this vid
Wow! Stunning. Wow!. I want to ski next to this runway. Fantastic choice of music to accompany this majestic approach.
Yes, it really is :)) And I will do exactly that in three weeks, skiing just a couple hundred meters away from this airport.
Amazing , lucky to be there years ago with Hong Kong registration aircraft .
Beautiful and awesome video.
Nice. I flew CRJs in the airlines. What a great aircraft! I miss it!
What a beautiful video. Fantastic approach and landing. Thanks for the video!
Beautiful video and music.
One of my favourite things to do, once you're settled on your approach bearing, is to see how far out I can spot the active.
Shots & music are my tipe !!!! Really liked your channel 😍 thumbs up 👍🏻
Just flew into and out of there on the Dangerous Airports World Tour on IVAO
Well done. Fits perfect with Lindsey's music.
Beautiful video, well done, and thank you for sharing your adventures.
Stunning views!!!! Great video that captures a approach and landing that requires a lot of experience and skills. Well done.

Hahha people cross country skiing next to the taxi way?? That's amazing. I really want to go on holiday there now because I am really into cross country skiing.
@@RCmies Well than do it there. Though I do only downhill skiing, it seems very beautiful there also for cross country skiing.
@@Delibro Yes. Skiing next to a jet plane taxiing past seems pretty surreal.

All valleys other than the chosen are much steeper. Its very unique there, one straight long valley and only mountains besides.
Beautiful indeed! Nicely done.
What a beautiful scenery.

You should do an approach into LOWI (Innsbruck)

The views are fantastic!
Nice approach and edit! Keep up the good work :)

Hi, Dutchpilotgirl, very nice. Do you know if Airliners go into that airport. Like 737?
Yes they do , the biggest are 737-200 and the A319. But no scheduled passenger flights, these are all private jets.
Great video. Thanks.
Should have shown more of the red carpet..
amazing view, thank you for sharing :)
Reminds me of my first flight across the alps - amazing wild beauty
You listed all your equipment, but forgot the most important one :) What airplane did you use?
She is a Challenger 604 Co-Pilot in this video and that's what you can read when you watch it closely
