PS Vita when homebrewed is unbelievably entertaining. Still relevant in 2024 IMO, plus I love doing remote play on it with my PS4 Pro! There are new homebrew ports/games/programs coming out every week. So much fun. I have a Switch, PS4 Pro, a CFW PS3 Slim, a CFW Wii, and a DS Lite (with a flashcart) and I play the PS Vita extremely frequently. It's pretty awesome. 10/10 recommended from me!
its good console on the go, but ps3 is much better in all ways and cheaper. Example if PS Vita in not very good conditions 100eur, then PS3 half the price of Vita, that means 40-50eur. And PS3 have everything the same and much much more than PS Vita. By the way PS3 have many private servers where you can play online revived games.
Oh yeah dude I love the PS3. I heard they just revived the GTA Online servers for PS3! Dude, that is such good news... Long live the PS3 as well! An amazing console during some of the best times in video gaming history, no doubt. :D @@igorispodpruznikovas5322
The rubber on the joysticks is depended on how you take care of it. I still got my OLED vita from 2012 and the rubber’s condition did not degrade/get sticky at all(yes, it has wear). All these years later, it only has one tiny scratch on the back touchpad and still looks excellent.
this was an amazing video!! looking forward to the upcoming review. i was the lead graphic designer for all of the LiveArea assets for DaedalusX64 and Flycast.
Thanks! The upcoming review got delayed a bit cause I had to order new thumbsticks. Right after this video went up, the left one failed. So I'm gonna make a video about that first! Just my luck!
I have three 1000 series vitas and one early 2000. All the thumbsticks are still in perfect condition. Maybe the last revision used different materials?
I bought a vita a while ago and I still use it since it Has alot of homebrew you can mess around with and experiment with and the amount of ports and fan games it can run is insane it’s such a good console MOD YOUR CONSOLE
I have my vita unmodded because I like my consoles oem. I only have 1 physical game (Danganronpa despair girls) and I also have digital PS1 games and a few others I purchased. I’m a big fan of the form factor. Consoles like the switch and steam deck are NOT actually portable. The vita can easily fit in a pocket.
I loved my Vita for a few years. I pulled it out recently and I'm feeling my age now. The screen is to small for my eyes now lol. It was a good device though. It needed r2/l2 triggers. The memory cards were ridiculously over priced too. The remote play didn't live up to promise either.
I just purchased one thru eBay and I'm excited to get it in my sweaty hands. Of course with the ability to acquire games via non resale ways. I had the PSP and Vita years ago and let them go. Now I'm still a gamer with two kids I love introducing to my kids the things I played growing up and theatric movies and shows.
This video was so good. I would watch every little detail about the vita prerelease in high school and all the features kept blowing my mind (the augmented reality, console graphics, back touchpad, etc.). I bought a vita in 2015 after becoming an adult and being able to afford one and finally live out that dream. Sony already threw it to the side and all the extra cost of everything really turned me off about it so I only bought uncharted. I just dusted it off after 9 years due to the modding becoming so easy on it and it’s been really awesome how good it is. The only thing I wish it can do is run ps2 games and my life would be complete but that is impossible. Can’t wait for the review
You mentioned Skype. This no longer works to my knowledge, but back in the day we could use the 3g connection and a dedicated Skype number for a cheap cell plan alternative. Not without issues, but cool as an option. If memory serves, it was $15 for the 3g plan and $2.50 for the Skype number?
Your comment on if Sony doesn't care about older hardware that they shouldn't care how we get said programs was spectacular. I feel the same way as well. And not just that, getting the games, if you want all of them, is damn near improbable. On top of a 300 bubble limit on each vita and the 64gb proprietary memory cards being astronomically expensive, it makes more sense to get an sd2vita and jail break it. I think I did the math once and you'd need like a handful if not like severallll(7-8)vitas alone to have every game on every vita considering it's 300 limit lol
2:12 It's probably been said already but just a reminder, the PS Vita 2000 only had 1gb of internal storage that was made accessible to you and it was really only there for save data storage as most games would easily eat up 1gb on the Vita. Its your initial thoughts but it's not much of an upgrade spec wise (especially compared to when Sony gave the PSP Go 16gbs of built in storage).
You’ve inspired me to make a video of my PS Vita where I’ve “unlocked” its full potential and done the maximum I can to it. Check it out and let me know your thoughts on it if you get a moment 👀
I bought the white ps vita that came with assassins creed 3 liberty years ago. Played it maybe three hours and never since. Its still in the box and in the foam pouch with all the inserts. Brand new condition like when i bought it. Its now 2024 so here I am because I want to give it a second life. 😊
@@ykjali Apparently the one thing not in the box is the charger lol. Even have the screen protectors! Had to order a new one. Will definitely be using pkgj adrenaline etc. I also have the red chains of Olympus PSP but it needs a new battery.
The Switch is way more of a spiritual succesor to the Vita than it is to the 3DS, especially if you mod the Vita to connect to your TV and Dualshock (or have a PSTV).
I got 3 ps vita I love it I got Silver gray, white with black frame and Aqua blue Ps vita my favorite definitely is the white one second silver and 3rd the Aqua blue one I love your Full white ps vita looks nice I’m thinking of getting another ps vita I don’t know which one I kind of want the white pink it looks nice too
I love the vita slim I own all types of handhelds neo pockets. all the way up to the switch. but the vita gets the most playtime. Plus, I have 5 of them.
There is internal memory in the OLED version as well, but it's not activated by default. Using CFW it can be activated, and then the only difference between the two models is the charging port and the screen. And the OLED version feeling more solid. It's also possible to replace the proprietary charging port with a USB C port, but that takes some soldering skill. That said, I have both, and there isn't much difference in practice. I prefer the OLED version, but not by much.
To be fair, both storage types are kind of useless for installing games, but that is good to know! I'll keep that in mind if I ever manage track down a PS Vita 1000 model that isn't either really beat up or WAY overpriced.
@@GarrettCrespo The main reason to have internal memory is to install the CFW and drivers on it. Without it, there has to be a Sony memory card in the device for that. That used to be the main reason to avoid the OLED version. Now that isn't a problem anymore. I got a nice, "cosmic red" 1000 from Japan, which I adore. I don't dare take it outside the house. That's why I also have a 2000. ;)
@@lazyhominid it's impossible to replace the battery in a red or blue Vita 1000. They have a different size battery to motherboard plug, and nobody sells new Vita batteries that have that size plug. Those batteries have a slightly different model number (SP65X) than black, white, and silver Vita 1000 batteries because Sony included a different motherboard in the red and blue 1000s. Anyway, you'll understand once you try to install a new battery.
Sony really neglected the Vita but it's cool how the community has kept it alive.
