I understand your reasoning very well. After the GH7 was released and hearing about its upgrades compared to the GH6, I bought another GH6 (used) in the US for nearly half the price of a new one. The GH6 cameras provide nearly everything I need to deliver professional video production services.
I noticed this, and it came a bit as a surprise-awakening to me. On paper the GH7 sounds amazing, but I don't need most of what it offers. The GH6 is a very good camera
Thanks for such an informative video. I already have 2x GH6s and was thinking about getting a third one for a 3-camera setup I need, but I think I'll get a GH6 instead and save £1,150 (in the UK), which is almost enough to buy a 4th GH6 as a backup if I needed one (I don't, but it's tempting! Lol). You have a new subscriber. :)
Great, thanks for the sub. I wish you'd post some of your videos. Always interested to see what other creators are doing. Also I experienced that the M43 community is so much more open and friendly compared to other creators. With the GH6 I fell in love with M43. And now I am testing out alternative lenses to get good results without breaking the bank. I am working on 2 videos already.
It is so much better than the GH6. I think because of the new sensor and the new AF even old lenses - that did not work well in low light before - are coming to life and are usable again
@@ParadiseBizz NON è vero. Ho fotografato sia con GH6 che con GH7 una stanza poco illuminata (60 watt) e, in automatico, le foto di GH7 sono MOLTO più rumorose di quelle della GH6
I bought the G9ii instead of the GH6. because of the following points : Dynamic range boost enabled by default and available at 500 isos in VLOG and at 100 isos in REC 709 profiles, no streaking issues (it was really a NO GO for me with the GH6, I love to use lights), phase autofocus, the G9ii is a bit lighter and less bulky
I currently use the GH6 with the Leica 100-400. I am mainly a wildlife photographer in Georgia. My only real complaint about the GH6 is the autofocus for birds in flight. The video capabilities of the GH6 already far surpass my skill set to use them. I want to upgrade for the PDAF and I'm sure it's better but I'm not sure it's $2k better. Maybe after Christmas the GH7 will go on sale. I also decided not to go with a G9II because I've invested in the CFxpress cards and I really love the cooling fans, Georgia gets hot like Florida
Normally the first Black Friday after the release the GH series get's a $500 discount. This is how I got my GH6 in 2022 ua-cam.com/video/afNZVSxSqUM/v-deo.html So be ready on Nov. 29
Could you specify the settings and frame width, I see that your edges are cropped. I would like to see how much the new stabilization crops the edges of the frame. And could you shoot some sun with both cameras, for the GH6, take ISO 2000 + ND filter, for the Gh7, also ISO 2000 + ND filter, will there be a difference?
When you commented on the preview, at the time the video was already completed. I will show the crop factor in one of my next videos, now that I have someone who's interested. I would estimate it at a 1.2x crop, maybe a bit less.
I bought the gh7 because they have finally fixed the streaking issue in the gh7. Gh6 in sting neon lights would streak big time. Gh7 has fixed it. I can trust it much more in any situation now.
I hear you. It's so sad, because the GH6 could be great. Now it is functioning as my b-roll camera only, because you can't trust it in certain lighting situations. You've made a good choice, congrats
Hey. Good job. I got gh6. AF not bad if you know problem situation. Also ALL my 100mp still shots handheld are super sharp amazing. Your camera may have a problem. Finally the color from gh6 straight out of camera such as skin tones Is best of any Lumix..period. great sensor
I saw some threads on Reddit, that other GH6 user had similar issues with the 100MP image and it it quite expensive to get it fixed. I can live without it, because I am using it as my main camera for my youtube videos and I love it.
Thanks. If I have to be completely honest....sometimes I have the suspicion that the first versions are made badly on purpose to sell the second versions and earn twice. GH7 is a nice camera, but, personally, the sensor is too dense for myself, 20 mega is already too much for an M43... obviously I'm talking about my tastes.
In low light the GH7 is the clear winner. The improved sensor and it's faster AF are simply in another league. In fact lenses that you could never use on the GH6 what lighting is not perfect, suddenly come back to life on the GH7. - Sorry, ich habe gerade Deinen Channel angeschut, subscribed, und gemerkt dass wir auch Deutsch schreiben koennen.
