After rewatching this movie realized Bob was the one that actually saved the family from actually sleeping outside and picking those oranges. He definitely deserved more respect than he got
The Bob character carried this movie. The dynamic between him and Richie made this whole film. It would have been just another forgettable biopic without that. Esai Morales killed it!
That was cold when Connie was telling Rosie Ritchie was wonderful and leaves Bob out. What the hell? Bob played the drums for Ritchie and nobody gives him any credit or even a Thank You from his own brother! That is some messed up BS!
It wasn't really like that in real life. Bob and Connie were actually really close. But the movie makes it look like she rejected him in favor of Ritchie. They did that to create more drama and make it more interesting.
I think that Bob wanted to be a part of the music thing.... Ever get the feeling that mom played favorites??? What is sad is that mom was so on Ritchie that Bob feels NEGLECTED.. He got on the drums and PLAYED...
According to the Ritchie Valens Official Website, Bob and Connie were actually very close ( Read Bob's biography under the High Tone Five tab ). The Valdez brothers intentionally wanted the story to be heavy on drama, so that's why the scenes with the fictional Connie and Bob have an "East Of Eden" feel.
@@jamesmontague1622 And this is my problem with biopics. They always think they have to make something up just to make the story more interesting instead of staying with what actually happened.
She just neglecting her other son like wtf. If the mom and the father showed bob more attention and support than they did he wouldn’t have turned out as a screw up. He would’ve been just like Ritchie
What happened was in the movie at least connie had bob with a man who ditched them. She met her beloved husband who married her & adopted bob . Then they had their son together Ritchie. Dad treated his bio son better than adopted or step son & mom.did as well bc he was the son of the man she loved & bob was the son of the louse who left her. Yes it's no excuse for Bob's actions but hes very angry & resentful of his mom bc we hear she turned him in to the cops & he was locked up. I believe it was for drugs. Now what mom would do that to her son ? Instead of help him? Bob also is the one who got the family out of poverty & the migrant farming they lived in. Without bob ritchie would have been working instead of going to school concentrating on his music.
@@emilymichalski324 Yes. Ritchie already was working on having a career and already found love when he met Donna. And sadly accomplished that before tragedy. Bob just chose not to have any big ambition like his brother.
in real life bob didnt steal rosie, but ya when the mom is like ritchie ur the best, i get her cuz bob keeps messing up but dont be so obvious, she was proud of his art contest win
Ritchie dont be so Jaiton, my dad used to say that word like 25 years ago and died in Nov 2020 @92 years young. It's like an old school word similar to some dame or toots.
In this clip? Indeed he was! Why exclude your own brother who simply wants to be there for you and help with your music career! It would’ve been wholesome to see bob as Ritchie’s drummer.
Not saying that it wouldn’t have changed anything or would have but if the movie portrays how it really was, I mean there were times the mom and everyone were kinda hard on bob. Not downplaying the drinking and bullshit but sometimes just a little uplift can change a lot. Like how he did good on drums and he did good at drawing…being recognized for it at times along with Ritchie and not just Ritchie alone. IMO

Yeap. There is more to it than that also. Red Pill knowledge. Hidden messages.
The dad of Bob and Ritchie(with a t) also played favorites too.
He favored Ritchie.
And that could have rubbed off of Connie.
But I'm just guessing.

he sure as shit did...it's his best rolse
@Shahab. 100% facts!!!

Yvonne Davis that still doesn’t justify his actions

Bob was dishonest, deceitful, and manipulating. It's better for him to be in that neighborhood than mine.
