- This is my first time uploading I hope this came out right. Richie Valens bursts across the screen in this celebrated,music-filled movie with star-making performances by Lou Diamond Phillips as Richie and Esai Morales as his half-brother,Bob.Sorry about rest of movie still trying to figure this out. The first time this movie came to VHS I was a little kid, and the beginning of the movie scared me the shit out; and still... Great movie, one of my favorites
Me too I used to put my head down and cover my ears. lol
Lol I thought I was the only one who was scared by the plane scene as a kid

That hug they both give eachother at the start of the film really gives you an idea of what you're watching. They had problems but they still were brothers.
To me it’s crazy that Ritchie was not at school that day because of a funeral and if he had been there he’d have probably been killed along with his friend by the falling wreckage of an airplane. That happened on January 31, 1957 and then two years later almost to the day he dies in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. Some may think it’s just a coincidence but to me it almost seems like a final destination kind of thing, like death skipped over him but eventually got him
As a kid I never understood that scene growing up because I was wondering why was he dreaming that before the movie and when he died of that plane crash I thought it was foreshadowing his death but now with your input it feels more properly place now. Thanks for the info my dude

Sci-Fi Punisher Really, I dare you to go to any Latin American country, and tell them “you’re Latino”. They’ll be like “no bitch I’m Peruvian, Mexican, Honduranian, etc. Latino was also term that was popularized outside of actual Latin American countries. They are both attempts at trying to group us all into the same category, but if I were to pick one, I’d say Hispanic because we all come from Spanish speaking countries. I’m not saying that either one is wrong, but there is nothing wrong with Hispanic, Latino/a, or Latin. But the one I don’t accept is Latinx.
@@diegogomez7240 I'm only speaking on about the fact that white people in America making this title for us. I didn't say "every" latin based country uses these terms. Nope. But ask most Mexicans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Colombians. Out of the two titles given (in US America) we prefer Latin-American. Not Hispanic. The US Government only ever gives the option "Hispanic" and it does, in fact, tend to piss people off. Forgive my English but This I witness constantly. Sorry to not be as clear, in my original comment 👌🏽

Sleep Walk didn't come out until after the plane crash. I think it came out in the summer of 1959 around there.
