These steps do not work for my 2024 Hyundai Elantra. When I click on phone projection it tells me I must connect with a usb. When I connect with usb it tells me I cannot project while connected to usb. Endless cycle of back and forth.

@@TerrenceMordecai ended up plugging in the cable. its the only way to make it work so far but if I find a way I'll keep you posted.

This still didn’t work for me it showing CarPlay is faded out like it can’t be used at all
Go into Settings>Connections to enable Apple CarPlay

i was having the same problem, i recommend using a apple certificated cord. i changed my cord and my apple car play worked

can you use apple car play with an ipad that is wifi only?
Your iPad might be WiFi but it has Bluetooth. They all do. That’s how wireless CP works.

make sure you are using a apple certificated cord ! i was having same problem, changing the cord fixed the problem
