The truth is: Everything is already perfect. Something perfect is something that constantly changes yet remains the same. It is still the same being or thing as it started, it is the same entity but it appears and acts differently. Perfection isn't a thing or a state but a word to describe everything. Something perfect has everything achieved yet also has more to achieve. Something perfect never loses meaning and never even had a meaning. Perfection is not achievable because it's already been achieved and continues to be unachievable. It is given to you from the moment of your birth. Not when you come out of your mother's womb but the exact day you start to exist. In order to be perfect one must also be imperfect. That gives them a reason to exist. To pursue being better and seek understanding. Perfection is what makes you happy, sad, angry. Perfection is life and everything that exists around it. Emptiness is also perfect. As it gives space for other things to exist within it. Even if it doesn't. Perfection is everything yet nothing. It exists yet it can't be seen or noticed. All across the world people strive for perfection, but in the end if the entire world would listen to these words by this fictional character, then people would realise perfection is boring, perfection is impossible because there will always be obstacles, nothing is ever perfect. That's why Perfection cannot exist, for perfection to exist we'd need to extract ourselves of the ability to feel pain and fear, we'd need to remove human functions and human tendencies. If perfection is possible, I'd rather not give up my free will for it.
Perfection is impossible, what we’re all looking for is actually satisfaction. What is perfect now might be imperfect later on, all we seek is to be at peace with ourselves.

After hearing this speech that word has become one of if not my most hated word of all time. It's like the whole confusing invincibility with immortality. I hate it when people confuse or put the meaning of either to apply for both.
Dispite his creepy ass appearance, and being a homicidal mad scientist who show little respect for those who aren't intellectually gifted like him (with the exception of Uhraha). Captain Mayuri's speech was actually quite poetic. (In a tragically depressing way, but good non the less).
I like how he summarized the whole point of perfection, so perfectly. He says nothing perfect actually exists, but then goes on to give such a perfect speech XD
Funnily enough this could be applied to Aizen he was seeking to become a godly being perfect in a sense imaging a confrontation between Mayuri and Aizen would have Mayuri say the same thing Aizen would likely loss his cool if for a moment.
Think about this in this way: if the perfection would be a graphic, it would come from 0 to infinity. You couldn’t be perfect (0), you could be nice (say it’s 5) but you notice there are other people who are BETTER (6,7,8,9,10, ...). But as a mathematician would say, we can’t have infinity, that’s why to be the PERFECT is impossible. You can only be better, from day to day, making +1. But reaching infinity will never happen

Tybw is getting animated in 2021! Bleach is back!
As much as how cruel Mayuri can be I’ll always respect this quote of his.
for all of Bleach's many, many flaws. This speech is not one of them.
The song half way make his speech incredibly emotional and inspiring! Love it!♡♡♡
If something is really perfect. This video is!
For anyone in a field of science, this speech really hits home.
Best Speech Ever and I respect that for mayuri kurotsuchi
All across the world people strive for perfection, but in the end if the entire world would listen to these words by this fictional character, then people would realise perfection is boring, perfection is impossible because there will always be obstacles, nothing is ever perfect. That's why Perfection cannot exist, for perfection to exist we'd need to extract ourselves of the ability to feel pain and fear, we'd need to remove human functions and human tendencies. If perfection is possible, I'd rather not give up my free will for it.
This speech changed a lot about how I feel about the idea of perfection
He speech describe his zanpakutou himself, being a worm that can evolve to something perfect according the situation he faces
Thank you Master Mayuri
Perfection is impossible, what we’re all looking for is actually satisfaction. What is perfect now might be imperfect later on, all we seek is to be at peace with ourselves.
This speech is perfection...
Why do I feel like this is Joker philosophy in a nutshell; he's insane because he embraced it, while others don't. (Got his idea after Heath Ledger's Joker)
Mayuri ws essentially anime anti-hero joker.
After hearing this speech that word has become one of if not my most hated word of all time. It's like the whole confusing invincibility with immortality. Invincibility just means you can't be hurt but can still die while immortality just means you can't be killed but still hurt. I hate it when people confuse or put the meaning of either to apply for both.
Incredible speech.... Wow...
I love this speech
Mayuri spitting straight facts
Dispite his creepy ass appearance, and being a homicidal mad scientist who show little respect for those who aren't intellectually gifted like him (with the exception of Uhraha). Captain Mayuri's speech was actually quite poetic. (In a tragically depressing way, but good non the less).
That's the moment, i started to like Mayuri, and stopped being a perfectionist
I hate Mayuri but this is the best speech he ever gave probably the best speech in the whole anime too
Moments like this is why I love anime!! The impact of words & actions that go beyond an animation and to the very soul of our human existence. 😎👍🌹
This and Pain's speech are still the greatest speeches in anime.
I can’t stop rewatching it @-@
mayuri is right
if we all are perfect life
would not worth living
When that "pity my life let's flashback and cry while I explain in detail so we cross swords for 2minutes" piano hit.... 😭😍
Szayel will be listening to this speech for the next 3 centuries
this one hit different.
Szayel's answer to this speech was on point.
I may not find mayuri likable but I can respect and agree on what he thinks about perfection
Villains in anime always have the best speeches
Except Mayuri isn't a villain, more of an anti-hero.
He sounds so sad when he says "do you understand"
I like how he summarized the whole point of perfection, so perfectly. He says nothing perfect actually exists, but then goes on to give such a perfect speech XD
Funnily enough this could be applied to Aizen he was seeking to become a godly being perfect in a sense imaging a confrontation between Mayuri and Aizen would have Mayuri say the same thing Aizen would likely loss his cool if for a moment.
I mean the soul king wadnt prefect
Think about this in this way: if the perfection would be a graphic, it would come from 0 to infinity. You couldn’t be perfect (0), you could be nice (say it’s 5) but you notice there are other people who are BETTER (6,7,8,9,10, ...). But as a mathematician would say, we can’t have infinity, that’s why to be the PERFECT is impossible. You can only be better, from day to day, making +1. But reaching infinity will never happen
Just imagine Saitama listening to this and then telling it to Garou.
This speech really made me think
GOATED SPEECH in anime history
Love the voice
