      yeah if you think about it. it´s true. as a aspiring scientist (chemistry student. either gonna go in product dev or metal organic research) perfection just would mean: good bye my job. i´de be homeless if we reached perfection because who needs scientists if there is nothing left to explore. It´s the despair physicists felt in the early twentieth century. they pretty much were useless maths students or just maths students in many cases as physicists weren´t needed. back in the day 1900 people did believe they knew all about physics that is to know and the very few things that yet were to be learned would soon be done with. There were some arguments about Nils Bohrs model of the but that almost was it. until Max Plank and a bit later Albert Einstein fucked things up. And both did so unintentionally. Plank even realized he found something that could not be in the old models and that got the whole world of physics into trouble (and tried what he could to get rid of that stupid constant h in his work on the spectrum of light emitted by a black body) and physics began to live again. The despair of perfection was over.
      There was room for imagination, actually a room beyond imagination with quantum physics. Which btw was what brought Einstein his Nobel prize. Einstein brought a proof that light had particle characteristics. Something unthinkable before. (google photo electric effect. to lazy to explain it in detail and it´s not that difficult. really it isn´t. It´s pretty much saying :light can knock out electrons out of a silicon atom if it has enough energy. But to knock a piece of matter out and give it energy we´d need a crash. and a crash is something that only happens with matter. means, if light shone on a silicon plate and we had a voltmeter on it we´d get a voltage reading. And Einstein was smart he plotted voltage against frequency using plancks formula that the energy of light is the back in the day mysterious constant h times the frequency (E=h*frequency) And just as a side product he too got a numerical value for h) and Einsteins Works on relativity are not to be discussed. That too opened a brand new field of physics. and with that physics has gotten the playground of all kinds of crazy guys again.
      just a bit of real science history that i think kinda shows the depression of perfection Mayuri talks about. Professors telling their students "what are you even here for. you´re just gonna be unemployed with that stuff .there is nothing left to find" is just the consequence of this believed perfection in the early twentieth century

  • @xornedge8204
    @xornedge8204 4 роки тому +11

    The truth is:
    Everything is already perfect. Something perfect is something that constantly changes yet remains the same. It is still the same being or thing as it started, it is the same entity but it appears and acts differently. Perfection isn't a thing or a state but a word to describe everything. Something perfect has everything achieved yet also has more to achieve. Something perfect never loses meaning and never even had a meaning. Perfection is not achievable because it's already been achieved and continues to be unachievable. It is given to you from the moment of your birth. Not when you come out of your mother's womb but the exact day you start to exist. In order to be perfect one must also be imperfect. That gives them a reason to exist. To pursue being better and seek understanding. Perfection is what makes you happy, sad, angry. Perfection is life and everything that exists around it. Emptiness is also perfect. As it gives space for other things to exist within it. Even if it doesn't. Perfection is everything yet nothing. It exists yet it can't be seen or noticed. So it might as well be considered non existent.
    Perfection is everywhere, in everything and everyone. Not in a single one but all of it as a whole.

      That's not it at all the turth is perfection is a myth we tell ourselves something that ma makes feel better. You can allways look for ways to improve and keep going your are born perfect your life isn't perfect Nothing is when you sit down an think about it. In fact it's why it's so easy to convince of the concept of perfection. We humans are transfixed on what could be that I think we get lost on what is now. We're lying to ourselves. Maybe you think the universe has some sorta will and intention the turth is that's wrong. We're an accident a cosmic one the fact that we exist is a abnormally in on itself. Something perfect doesn't require adaptation it doesn't need order because it lacks chaos. It doesn't need improvement because it lacks flaw. Our storys arnt perfect and we aren't. That's okay because it allows us to grow to change, to grow to come up with better ideas. That's why perfection is a myth

      agreed. it seems, on Bleach, the secondary characters have more real personalities the main cast. not to say the main cast is bad or dull but predictable.

    That's why Anime is special, it's the expression of the mind of the writer and a reflection on how he sees an idea, this level of freedom of expression is lost in modern-day western entertainment and that's why everyone shifting to Anime and manga instead of comics and movies

      In my view they are. Scientists seem more like scared little children who are afraid of the truth just because of what society may think of them rather than actually being people who seek knowledge. I have no respect for them due to that reason.

      It is this notion of what can and can't be possible. I have heard many scientist talk about what is and isn't real even though there is no evidence to support their claim. Scientist also hide the truth because other people provide them the funds for their research and those people get to determine who has access to this information. As a seeker of knowledge, this is something I can't abide by. I can't say I hate them for this part though, I just refused to consider someone an authority on truth when someone else gets to determine what they get to say. Scientists are also influenced by social pressure and that is something I have no tolerance for.

    I know I'm late on this but I do agree, being perfect is a fate worse than death. You have nothing to look forward to, in the end you have nothing more. Basically all progress stops and you're forced to live knowing nothing can be obtained. It's like being filthy rich, yes you can buy anything you desire but you don't have to work for it anymore which makes it all pointless and boring. Maybe it's fun for a time but when you become bored of everything it makes living harder maybe not on the body but on the mind.

    All across the world people strive for perfection, but in the end if the entire world would listen to these words by this fictional character, then people would realise perfection is boring, perfection is impossible because there will always be obstacles, nothing is ever perfect. That's why Perfection cannot exist, for perfection to exist we'd need to extract ourselves of the ability to feel pain and fear, we'd need to remove human functions and human tendencies. If perfection is possible, I'd rather not give up my free will for it.

    After hearing this speech that word has become one of if not my most hated word of all time. It's like the whole confusing invincibility with immortality. Invincibility just means you can't be hurt but can still die while immortality just means you can't be killed but still hurt. I hate it when people confuse or put the meaning of either to apply for both.

    Think about this in this way: if the perfection would be a graphic, it would come from 0 to infinity. You couldn’t be perfect (0), you could be nice (say it’s 5) but you notice there are other people who are BETTER (6,7,8,9,10, ...). But as a mathematician would say, we can’t have infinity, that’s why to be the PERFECT is impossible. You can only be better, from day to day, making +1. But reaching infinity will never happen
