Rosemary is going to put the high end decor retailers out of business! I’ll be attempting the papier mache bowl. I recommend H&M Home as another decor source to dupe. Thank you, smart lady!
If you will get a large Lazy Susan and use it as your work surface, you will be able to turn your projects and work on all sides without having to touch wet areas or mess up the surface in anyway. You are the Crafter DIY Queen!
I kept thinking that throughout the video. I have a large wooden lazy susan from IKEA that I use for many of my craft projects It makes it so easy to keep a design consistent. Also great to use when spay painting a vase or similar object.
I love that your videos are so fast talking and so instrucable. A lot of people on you tube diy videos talk so long and slow before getting into it. You get right to it. Thanks you for that
I've watched tons of diy RH inspired decor. I even tried the paper mache bowls (paper. plaster, flour mix), it was a fail. Watching you use a plastic bowl & tp...wait, what??!! Speechless. Seriously, all 3 pieces are amazing!
Gotta love how your mind works! As a diy-er, I can't help when looking at everyday objects and wondering hmm, "I know I can use that for something" so it's hard to part with boxes and containers that most people would simply throw away. No doubt I'm sure you can relate! One tip that has helped me out while painting high lights on raised areas on vases and bowls is using a stiff fan brush typically used for acrylic paint. It can often give you that dry brushed effect without even trying. Please keep the dupes coming!
Wow! You are amazing with such vision for transforming ordinary objects into masterpieces. Another suggestion for the use of the last project would be to turn the pocket with the opening on top and add jute or nautical rope from DT to create a hanging planter filled with artificial greenery and painted with terracotta or mineral chalk paint, etc. I think that would look fantastic using your creative techniques. Thank you for sharing your talents. You're a genius.
Your distressing and antiquing technique has to be the best I've ever seen. It's so realistic and doesn't look intentional, which drives me crazy! Keep up the good work. Work. Can't wait to see what you do next.
You know, Dollar Tree has some cheap plastic items, that although they look like cheap plastic, have beautiful shapes. Well now, thanks to you, I'm confident that I can make them look like a million bucks. Thank you!!!
Re: making the ridges around the concrete vase. For a more consistent effect, place the vase on a kitchen turntable and add weight (book) the top to keep it from moving. Now you can hold your comb steady in place and with your other hand rotate the turntable. You'll get a continuous texture around the entire vase. Move the comb to the next setion and repeat.
Ah, that calm delivery with just a little quiet background music. Perfect. Nothing more annoying is someone who chats away, talking about all sorts of things while we wait and wait to see how something is made. This was a perfect tutorial.
WOW! I am THRILLED to have found you!!! I’m going to make alllll these projects. You give great directions. Now, I’m going to go back and look at your prior videos. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
Hi Rosemary, You got this my friend!!!! Beautiful......you are amazing at figuring out the best material to use to get the texture and look you need. I haven't paper mache'd anything since I'd have to say maybe grade school in art class with the newspaper strips dipped in the flour and water!!! Lol lol. I wasn't a fan then as I thought it was to messy but the way you did it I thought was great!! Enjoyed the bowls you did very much looked better then the originals but the one that got me was the ones with the cardboard .......how gorgeous they turned out and my goodness no one would ever suspect these were made of cardboard and caulk!!!! I just love watching you create these fantastic dup's!!! The shading and different colors you used along with the texture of the pieces were knocked out of the park!!! I always seem to go on and on with my comments but I want you to know how truely gifted I think you are Miss Dup Extrodanaire........thanks so much for sharing til next time Rosemary have a great week! 💗
Hi Michelle! Thanks and thanks for your kind words! So glad you liked the RH dupes and are enjoying the series! Yes, I remember the newspaper strips and how the ink would get all over the place! 😧When I researching this video I thought there has to be better way than that old newspaper method. But, oh my goodness, what I found was even more involved requiring mixers and saran wrap and oil and flour and all kinds of things! When I was playing with this idea and doing some samples, the R&D one actually came out better! I kind of really messed on making the glue too thin in the version I filmed, so if you do this, make sure the glue is not too runny and it will come out better than the one in the video. So glad you are enjoying the channel and videos!😊💗
Try a pack of natural sea sponges, i've seen them at Dollar Tree but also Walmart, Michaels etc. The little "bubbles" really create realistic stone textures perfectly!
ohhh I just love it!!! I did the spackle with white chalk paint and linen it turned light pink on a plastic trash can brown, from dollar tree, did 2 coats "choppy"style it looks high end will do paper mache next but will dupe the shappy chic 99 bucks floral buckets use napkins n tissue
I am in AWE!!! These are INCREDIBLE! I do enjoy your teaching method! You have such a lovely voice that makes following your instructions clear and a joy to listen to!!! I am inspired!!! Thank you for sharing your talent!!! Blessings
I was talking about the first & third ones. ..It just gives it that look and color. I also use the clear wax and add a dab of color if I want a different color. I love your diys dupes etc. love your channel period!!🥰💕❤️
Thanks! So glad you liked the RH dupes! LOL! Yes, that and don't pick them up! They will hold together just fine but you will definitely feel the difference!! 😊💗
Oh yeah, that would work out probably better since it is smaller diameter and you can make a little taller. The nut lid was a little too wide and too short. Thanks! So glad you liked the RH dupes! 😊💗
Your videos are so well done! The projects you select, your narration, and execution are top notch. I especially like that you finish each segment with a side-by-side comparison.
Fabulous vision and follow through! The eureka moment and connection for the puzzle 'cogs' support, Well done you! All of your pieces turned out fabulous! The last project I had an idea...the stripe pattern you made in the caulk, is already there in the card board! Card board is made of three components. Layers actually. Outside inside outside. You can start at an edge of cardboard and separate or peel away the outside/top paper layer of the 3 component layers. What remains is the potato chip ripples (you formed with the comb) that gives the board it's strength. In fact you can see the ripples in your project when it is wet with the caulk, you can see it peeking through before you painted. The firmer or heavy duty the card board the larger and thicker the ridges. Once you remove the outside paper layers the ridges are quite flexible. Which could be glued on the anything to add that ripple effect. Actually, I think that DT cat scratch pad is also the core of a card board heavy duty shipping item. And your use of that cat scratch piece was brilliant. Love how creatively your mind thinks. And great insight to use DT caulk for the hardening dry results. Weighty too I assume?
Yes, she is. She isn't afraid to try, is what I like. I have a fear of failure, and I am a perfectionist, so I love to see these, and I want to try, but the fear sometimes stops me.
This is so my thing !! I remember back in the 90's when I had my first home, we really couldn't afford anything , and I had this thing for Southwestern decor. I saw two Southwestern pillows in this fancy shmancy catalogue, and they were $56 dollars each. That's $112 for two pillows. Well. I took that old cotton table cloth bought four boxes of dye, cut out the shapes and sewed them all together to make two pillow dupes. Mine was better because I put real leather for the edging. Cost: $15 Time: less than a week, because back then you had to wait almost a month for any catalogue shipment, plus shipping costs.
😱 Wow these are great!! 🤔The last two pieces are going in the bathroom on the tank top or in my bedroom. 😳Hank why not in both😉 Change up the patterns, colors and size.. And Bob's your uncle🤣 TFS 😍
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!! you can not tell what is the store product or the dupe. You should definitely sell your products if you don't already. Going to go back and binge watch today You have inspired me to get back to crafting
All were incredible and so close to the original. I like the last one and also that bowl that u used toilet paper, I think that bowl looked better than the original
WOW ! WOW ! Rosemary. I’m Just Lost for Words !🤔 These are Just INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT!! ❤️❤️❤️ Them All 👍👏 I’m Certainly Going To Try To Do Them All 🤞 Thank You So Much for Your Video .
I loved this example of art I loved everything you did. It is extremely nice and I think I might try making it. It’s really cool thank you for your time and energy to make it curly by shoe.
I love your projects, my ocd gets me though when you paint light to dark 😲 usually the dark spots are the indents and the light is usually the high points but once I fight through that I'm always so impressed at how you dissect things we look at every day and re construct them together 👌
Wow your projects could easily be added to Restorations and they should be ashamed of their prices! My fave is your 3rd one.....excellent work on all! Tfs
Restoration Hardware is chuckling at those who are silly enough to pay these prices-but they’re not laughing at you! Well done on all.
The Bob Ross of dupe painting!! So so talented!!

Those Restoration Hardware prices are absurd. But you hit these out of the water girl! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!
I tell you, I liked your version of these dupes better than the much more overly priced originals, seriously. Great job!!
Loved them all but especially impressed with how much easier your paper mache technique is over others I've seen!
Thanks! So glad you liked the RH dupes and the paper mache! 😊💗
Hello Linda how was your day today I hope you are save in this pandemic?
I adored them all. But, those Toraja panels and the paper mache bowls are my favorites. Pretty close to the expensive originals. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! So glad you liked the RH dupes especially the bowl and panels! 😊💗
