I own an old OS MAx 46 FX engine, which I put into a Carl Goldberg Eagle 2 more than twenty years ago. Runs and flies very nicely after more than 34 hours of running/flying (flightlog). I'm curious about one thing about OS engicvens in general: I never understodd the difference between the different types of OS engines: AX, FX, LA, and soforth. Can you explain the difference?
My 46SF sleeve came out easily, but not the piston. I came here to find the trick to get the piston out. There was no trick, yours almost fell out! Mine is not coming out, same type engine. Must be goop on the wrist pin?
Yes. So the piston can move fore and aft on the connecting rod pin AND the piston pin. B both need to be very clean and free moving to get the piston off .
Simply disassemble it and soak it it cleaner. Carbs are very simple devices. I am sure somewhere in my many videos I have disassembled one before. ua-cam.com/video/2MjVJrhsC50/v-deo.html This video shows one disassembled.
Hey David ,I have a k&b Sportster 45 .it's missing the needle valve ,do you have one?
No
Would you know where to get one??
Have you tried MECOA? They are the only place selling or servicing these engines.
how do you get the piston back in?

How about reading about them yourself.
