Hey bud, I’m a 40 year old dude who is really just in the last year getting into all things mechanic fixing and upgrading. I just wanted to let you know I’ve subscribed, and liked many of your vids. But more so I think it’s impressive how much you know already to Be so young! Impressive. About to do these very things on this vid to my kid’s buggy and I wanted to thank you for making such detailed Vids available! This is such a resource. Thank you buddy!!
The aircleaner is something that bigger is not always better. Air velocity has to be taken into consideration. You could use a 3inch flanged airfilter, but you need to start stepping down the Inside Diameter of the airintake immediately. You can probably neck it down to 25% larger than the carburetor airhorn (air intake side) and still maintain air velocity to operate the engine. You may be able to get more velocity by putting the fliter inside of an airscoop facing forward. Air does not like 90° right angles. It hits 'the wall' in the 90° bend and tumbles. That's not what we want. We want the air to be traveling as straight as possible when it enters the carburetor airhorn. You can use a 90° bend, but you have to have sufficient velocity and the 90° bend as far from the airhorn as possible, right at the filter, to get the tumbling straightER as it enters the carburetor. A flexible accordion hose used for RV septic tank is a standard 2.5 inches and comes in 10 feet length. Use it for no 90° bends. A flexible straight 2.5 inch hose is even better. PVC can be used and make your tirns with the hose or use 22° or 45° PVC or radiused Turbo silicone connectors. Use 3- 4 inches of 2.5inch PVC pipe and connect a Spectre or K&N with a 2.5 inch flanged filter. Spectre can be used with no filter oil. I recommended a pre-filter for K&N. High flow comes at filtration cost. You can step the ID of the RV hose down with 1 or 2 PVC adapters to get it to your carb or TBI Outside Diameter. Use a piece of old bicycle innertube for a connection. Both K&N and Spectre make silicone sleeves to step down from 4 inch in .500 inch increments to 2.5 inches. If you use the above ideas, avoid 90° bends and keep velocity in mind any engine will run better with a good air intake system.
Definitely a nice muffler. They have 5 different styles and the carbon fiber one looks best IMO. I believe they cost 39$ from china. Only problem is the Outside diameter is way to big for most pipes, so there will be a gap when welding.
i know this is from way back, but the bigger intake could work if you, when the engine is warmed up, fiddle around with the air screw, that is located on the side of the carb ;)
That sounds nice! Found your channel from a comment you left on "John Wheels", wish I would have found it sooner since I was trying to decide between the RLV muffler or a motorcycle style muffler. Got the RLV in the garage waiting to go on... nice channel, subscribed!
Me and my dad actually cut out a center for the rear wheel after it fell apart too, and it was a complete pain in the but to cut it out. The welding part was easy though. If it happens again, I'm going to the machine shop. But these are the wheels and tires I'm looking at for the power levels I will be running next year rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332760438422
Awesome!! Gunner at the rev is hilarious 😂 sounds great with the new exhaust tho! Just slap some duck tape on the wheels, I wanna see some offroadin rite nie! 😁
Just wondering the 2 hoses that have vacuum which are the crankcase hose and the I would say valve cover hose at the very front what did you do with those hoses being you have a aftermarket filter cause those hoses went to the old air box.
Just wondering the two hoses that I have left over after putting a aftermarket filter which are the crank case hose and I think valve cover hose at very front… they were both connected to old the airbox I have a 169cc “150cc” go kart
i mean you wouldnt be pull over that fast cause of the licence plate. i did run my licence plat of my other quad on a other quad i had cause one wasnt registered. so it would look less suspisious
In case anyone was wondering. This is a BMS Sand Sniper 250. Also, if anyone has one of these, are they good quality? Reliable? Thoughts? I'm seriously considering one

ill never forget the 1st time my dumb ass tried welding and i looked at the FUCKING ARCH!!!! 3TIMES!!!! just a peek, a tiny glance to make sure i was in the right spot, MY EYES WERE ON FIRE THE NEXT MORNING! so when someone says dont look at the arch... DONT! then i see the camera angle and an arch nightmares come back to life. the horror
No, the 150cc gy6 is a four stroke single cylinder cvt scooter engine. I have one in my quad. Hauls ass pretty good so long as the vehicle and rider weights don't get nuts.
I hope by now you learned how much that air intake hurt your performance. Always gotta think of air like you would water...and the path of least resistance.
This video was posted 4 years ago. IDK what state you live in, but in Texas the police would confiscate your go kart, or anything you have that has a license plate that doesn't belong on the vehicle, trailer.
Hey bud, what is that buggy called? I just got the same one and I dont know anything about it. It's a 150cc right? What's the name of the buggy called? Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Take the restrictor out of the muffler

That's great advice James. I'm just about to do this on my buggy so will try and do it as you've described.
that buggy sounds good
👍👍 love the muffler. Can’t wait to use it on one of my projects

Is the rear axle wheel spacing stock? Alot of the chinese karts have the back wheels so close together. Drives me crazy
Take the tire and tube off and make a new center out of say 1/4 or 3/16" plate. Then keep your eyes on CL for new wheels.
Me and my dad actually cut out a center for the rear wheel after it fell apart too, and it was a complete pain in the but to cut it out. The welding part was easy though. 😂 Exhaust Fell Off... nice welds 😂 glad you got it fixed 👍🏼
Awesome!! Gunner at the rev is hilarious 😂 sounds great with the new exhaust tho! Just slap some duck tape on the wheels, I wanna see some offroadin rite nie! 😁
Alright!! Ill see if i can find a trailer wheel with the same bolt pattern..
That would work!
That exhaust turned out awesome! Nice work!! Buggy sounds great.
Thank you sir!!
Another great video!👍
Thank you !!
I've got a fang dong 169cc buggy. Its all factory , any advice on some mods?
Use 10gram roller weights. They're good for getting torque to the ground.
8grams make them climb like goats, but take topend off.
I prefer sliders to weights, they perform a little better.
What size tires and wheels are you running
Great video! I really think some bigger intake pipe would help though! The muffler sounds awesome!
Thanks John! I wanna try those
Also would be cool to weld some jerry can holders on the side
Whats the model or name of this thing? Would like to try and find one around me. Thanks.
Is that the stock exhaust pipe? I want to mod my exhaust on my 150cc kandi but can't find a pipe for it. Everything I've found is for a scooter
BDX Performance
$150
i like your buggy and HAYABUSA Exhaust
Great video I never seen the dune buggy :3
Thanks!! I had made a video of it back in November 2017
@@VasilyBuilds oh well I'll check it out :)
Where can you find wiring harness for these types of karts? Can you do video on how to wire?
My least favorite thing to do lol
Lol that's how I ride my go kart. A straight pipe and same engine.
I cant get my clutch and variator off of my 05 gy6 150cc crossfire , any suggestions ?

Thank you!
Nice editing
Appreciate it bro!!
Killer dude
Good work
Get a pit bike foam air filter they alow a lot more air flow
What is the HP@rpm and NM torque @rpm ??
What’s the top speed on this?
Running a liscense plate not registered to vehicle is illegal.Better off with no liscense plate.
Vasily Custom Builds but I would say it probably stands out more because of the license plate so I would take it off
Just asking for a big ticket if you leave it on.
i mean you wouldnt be pull over that fast cause of the licence plate. i did run my licence plat of my other quad on a other quad i had cause one wasnt registered. so it would look less suspisious
What exactly did u do to the rollers? Just take 3 out and leave the others in?
yes correct
@vasily thanks bro
1:35 look at that big steaming pile of dog poop on that tire lol

What is the brand of that gokart?
BMS sand viper 150
Is that a two stroke engine
No, the 150cc gy6 is a four stroke single cylinder cvt scooter engine. I have one in my quad. Hauls ass pretty good so long as the vehicle and rider weights don't get nuts.
Cool cart but needs a gsxr 600 motor
Dude you really need to put them weights back In you’ve gotta rev the crap out of the engine to make it move now
Its not bad. I am going to try to order some waits lol and tune it.
O ok I guess It just looked like that on camera
I hope by now you learned how much that air intake hurt your performance. Always gotta think of air like you would water...and the path of least resistance.
How many times do you get the cops called on you
Damn when I had my motorized bike running I would be the cops called all the time and I ran from them on a 40mph riding mower
