Solid review bro!!! I definitely smashed the like button for that UA-cam algorithm. LOL!!!
I was sent the MOVO DoubleMic and it's the exact same as this Boya Dual Mic. My found similar results with my iPhone X and iPhone 11 Pro. I even tested it on my old school Samsung S7 to plug directly into the 3.5mm mic jack. Result was good, but the audio sounds boosted and not really provide better quality sound. Like you, my overall impressions is to buy this for indoor use only. I don't recommend it outdoors because of the wind factor.
Note: I tested this on Sony ZV-1, Panasonic WFX1, and GoPro 9 too. Like you, I cannot record to dual channels for flexibility in post. The only dual mic that can separate the audio is the Deity D4 Duo. But, your camera or audio recording device has to be able to record stereo, not dual mono.
Again, great review and keep it up!!! Your b-rolls are solid and relevant. Unlike, many reviewers who shoot b-roll just for the sake of showing b-roll.

The external mic produces a higher signal than the iPhone supports, especially when it's windy or when you create plosives. That's why it cuts like that.

Interesting that the BOYA mic was picking up more "rumble" if that's the right way to put it. I thought the audio was clearer and deeper like you said but the micro-bumps were a bit much. Nice review, Ibrahim! I liked it.
Yeah, it did picked up more "rumble" indeed when recording on my phone. I think it has to do with the fact that I used the camera app on my iPhone, which doesn't let you set the recording level manually. But like I said, I'll have to do some more tests tho.

Ibrahim, I bought this microphone and doing tests (thanks to your video), I discovered that the front mic produces a lot of interference, the rear does not have that problem. When you shake the stick on which he had a phone, saturation occurs. Try the Godox Shotgun Microphone VD-Mic under the same conditions and it does not present any problem. For me, I can use this microphone on my DJI osmo action since it's only one signal on the audio, for having different audio signal, the Diety Duo can do the job.

The app to monitor while recording is called Cinema FV-5 by FGAE. I am not sure if it available for Apple iPhone or iPad.

Mobile phone mode is for recording with a mobile phone and camera mode is for recording with a camera
If I put dual mode in my mm1 pro, only F side audio is being recorded, what's the problem with that?

Hi Alfred, do you mean before you record or after you have recorded?
Because like I mentioned in the video, a solution is a bigger windscreen. If you have already recorded and there's a lot of wind noise there's not much you can do in post to fix it.
Yeah there's a tad bit of distortion when using it outside, hella lot of wind tho. I'd say it's definitely an indoor microphone.

Hi Azan! Yes, you can use it with laptop for voice over.
Remove the inner BLACK foam and install only grey furry dead cat, than it wont distort the voice. Lets try that, hopefully it works, it worked with my mm1.
When you are using this mic on smartphone, you should turn on airplane mode. If you dont turn on airplane mode you will have some niose on voice.

Why mixing both mics into a single audio channel? Because physics. Let's focus on how TRRS connector (audio jack for your smartphone) works. You have Ground, Stereo Channel Left (used for headphones = audio output), Stereo Channel Right (used for headphones = audio output) and Microphone Channel. Audio in "Camera" mode (when TRS audio jack is expected) should however provide 2 separate audio channels.
That's also the reason why Headphone jack works only with Smartphone. You could be playing music into your headphones connected through the mic while filming...

I know that it’s possible to record them separately, because the Deity D4 Duo does this. That’s why I asked why mixing audio from both mics into one single track. It’s not that I don’t know why. It’s because I know it’s possible, but can’t believe Boya didn’t add that feature to this microphone.

I cannot get over how terrible this mike is. If you were in a studio and the mike was static, it could be ok. BUT as soon as you introduce movement or wind it is SO noisy. The cell phone was better without it. - Rode micro for me.
