If she was healthy, why did she wrap herself up in that hideous oversized coat?

@@lysmykyta1199Cold air can exacerbate muscle spasms. Her disorder is all about involuntary muscle spasms. She wore the coat to ensure her muscles stayed warm, to ensure she could do her part that night without issue. If something seems out of the norm, there is usually a reason for it.

Joni is one of the greatest artists we’ve ever had. Hejira is my personal favourite project of hers. Her music is honest, intelligent and complex with the way she composes with the various instruments she plays and she way she sings. I’m glad to see her being embraced even if it’s just her folk material that gets the attention. People criticising her vocal performance don’t understand. It was an honest performance and only she could sing it.

Joni Mitchell is one of my favorite artists of all time. Her debut album and “Court and Spark” are among my favorite albums of all time. The pure beauty of that moment, never having performed on a stage such as the Grammys, and getting to do so at 80, even though she knew she would face undeserved and irrelevant criticisn, Even though I'm sure her body wasn't comfortable at times....
She got up there and created pure magic for all of us that love her. For those of us whose lives she changed everyday, and whose lives she continues to change. She is the embodiment of peace, love and what I consider true spirituality to be. She radiates pure love and joy.

Joni is and always was great! But I must say that she did make one recording that like a spikemin the ears. Her recording of "In the garden" ,it played on the musak w years ago when i worked for Marshalls, even customers would complain! Its funny now but at the time it was awful. Just goes to show you we all can make mistakes! Love Joni!❤❤❤

Mitchell doesn't need the Grammys, the Grammys need her. And no disrespect to Mitchell, but I'm so glad I'm a lifelong Metalhead so I don't have to watch that crap.

When a musical artist performs music publicly
    why do they do it?
When a musical artist records and publishes their music,
    why do they do it?
Is it done because they want to win a Grammy?
    Some perhaps.
Along with that will most certainly come disappointments and let downs.
I recall a famous musician who won several AMA awards and Grammy's.
During ome interview he was asked why he doesn't hang or feature his awards on the walls of mantles in his home.
    Here was his answer:
"Without a doubt it was thrilling for me to win those awards and to be acknowledged by those committees.
But that thrill fades rather quickly. And everytime if I was to walk into my home and see those things hanging on my wall or on my mantle, it won't recapture the initail excitement I once had in that moment. So I just store them away in a box in my home in one of my closets. No big deal.
But the bigger thrill for me, that last longer, is when I am out doung my business shopping or running around and I hear day to day regular people singing my song, bopping their head to my music, truly enjoying what I created.
This reminds why I do what I do. Making something that others can enjoy."
Drake aluded to the same thing in his pre-Grammy speech to offer encouragement to his fellow artists to remember what was should be of utmost importance to them. To keep creating these gifts in music for the people,
and not for a few mystery individuals who decides what trophy you should get.

Facts! I’m sure most musicians/artists cherish the fact that ppl enjoy and listen too their creative art….. that’s what it’s really about

The grammys do not determine if you’re good enough or a great artist. Many of the artists today who are winning Grammys were influenced by those who never got a single one biggie and 2Pac never got a Grammy but they’re considered the greatest rappers of all time even though it sucks I hope people don’t use this as a way to determine who’s good and who is it because it really doesn’t determine that.

That Joni MItchell has one Album of the Year Grammy to Taylor Swift's four merely tells us how utterly impoverished today's music landscape is. Back in Joni's heyday TayTay would have been lucky to even score a nomination.

Listen, if Killer Mike needed to be taken in handcuffs, he broke the law. It doesn’t matter when they grab him. The guy broke the law. Period. I don’t care if he’s a nice guy or or what. He broke the law. so they picked an appropriate moment to grab a rapper, maybe this will send a signal to others not to break the law.
