- KrisMotorSportVideos present the Lancia Stratos Wrc with pure engine sounds drived by Sandro Munari & Piero Liatti. His first race came in 1972 Tour de Corse, which was entrusted to the best driver available then, the "Dragon" Sandro Munari, and where he had to retire for the rear suspension failure. He got his first win the September 8, 1973 Firestone Rally of Spain in 1973 with Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci. To date, only lacking in the world rally honors are the Stratos Safari Rally and the RAC Rally, where Munari in 1975 came only second. In all other races, only successes.

Italians have always been something else. This car is a masterpiece.
This takes me back to my childhood in the 70's, watching the safari rally. No other rally car has such a distinct sound, maybe also the Audi quattro which had an iconic sound. Fantastic.

Love it! Remember standing a couple of feet away from one of these as it waited to start the Sutton Park Special Stage when I was just a nipper, loved it from the moment I set eyes on it and that was before I heard the engine :0)
What an incredible vintage video! The sound alone from the Ferrari V6 is intoxicating, as well as knowing the drivers had no "electronic" assistance, people were standing alongside the road course, etc. These were raw cars, and they required great skill and talent.
The car and the way it moves are so gorgeous.
Lancia is the manufacturer with more titles won in world rally championship yet. 11 titles (Fulvia+Stratos+037 and Delta Integrale)

Btw Senna thought Rally racers was mad he drow a 1400hk qualif set up F1 car at times, He did test`s in England i think.
These cars now fetch $200k+ and rightly so, they're a legendary milestone in the rally world.

Lancia=rally. From the Fulvia to the Integrale, no one else really matched them (OK - I'll give a grovelling wave to Ford with the Escorts). But overall, Lancia knew the rally game better than anyone. To have Group B taken away (the S4), and almost immediately start winning Groug A with the Delta HF and then the Integrale - what a team!!! It's tragic we lost the firm the way we did :-(
+marsvltor2 You're right. Lancia and Ford were some of the best rally car makers. Stratos vs. Escort MK2, Delta S4 vs. RS2000, Delta Evo vs. Escort Cosworth... they were are amazing cars.

Stratos had sam engine of Ferrari Dino. Won 3 world championships and was one of the best cars made by Lancia.I m so sad don t see Lancia racing anymore. Bad group fiat very bad.

this comment is pretty old.. but yeah, RWD+short wheelbase made it very agile, yet very twitchy and tricky to drive
Shame that we won't have any of these once the future goes electric and boring, but I guess that's also for the best
