I enjoyed your reaction! People new to Elvis are always surprised by his versatility. Name the genre and he could sing it from rock 'n' roll to country to blues to pop to gospel (his personal favorite) and beyond. Over the years his suits became more and more ornate. They weighed from 30-75 pounds. The one you just saw was probably the heaviest. You can't go wrong with Elvis. Even almost 47 years since his passing, he's constantly gaining new fans. I guarantee reacting to him will be an exciting experience and will help to grow your channel. His jumpsuits were made by Bill Belew & Gene Doucette; they began fairly simple (see Concho jumpsuit & Chain jumpsuit from Vegas 1970) & became more intricate w-more design, detail & jewels (see 1972 Hampton Roads, Virginia & 1972 Greensboro, North Carolina concerts). The Aloha concert was for charity for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. Elvis bought his own ticket for $1,000. It was supposed to raise $25,000 but it raised $75,000.
If you truly want to understand Elvis’s career, you should start out watching his earliest raw performances. During his life, he went from a truck driver , to a national sensation. After serving 2 years in the Army, he had a successful/profitable movie career. He wanted to get back to performing for live audiences, so after the tremendous success of his 1968 TV broadcast..⭐️🎵 Well , check it out yourself. There is plenty of video on YT. Thanks for sharing!

@Dan - I saw Elvis LIVE at Notre Dame, the year before he died…I was only 8 and I’ve been to maybe 1000 concerts of various bands over the years…Elvis was an unforgettable showman!
thanks for your great reaction but you need to see some of his grand early stuff. Especially the 68 comeback on NBC. He wore black leather and was beyond wonderful songs like "Trying to Get of You'.. and "If I Can Dream" his tribute to MLK who was killed 8 miles from his home. You haven't even scracted the surface he had a 23 year career, he recorded over 700 songs, from gospel to opera, he had a three octave range. He started his career in 54, I flipped when I saw him on Sullivan in 1956, I was 12, he was so sexy he made me blush. Now 80 I realize after seeing him in concert twice he is the greatest performer of all time. be Blessed.
This is a song written for Frank Sinatra by Paul Anka. My opinion this song described Elvis' career more than Franks and it was broadcast via satellite to over 1.5 Billion. no artist has ever even come close to duplicating this feat.
As a solo artist? For sure, no one has topped this! I do know certain performances by Queen reached this level of viewership worldwide, but that's all I can think of.
Amazing reaction. Feel the passion and emotion of his voice. Please try American Trilogy, Bridge over troubled water, You’ve lost that loving feeling. Thanks 💕💕💕💕

He was an incredible human, so generous, kind and loving to everyone, no matter who you were. He had a beautiful heart and soul, and fans.....real fans.....love him for the music, but more importantly, for who he was. I would be more than happy to send you links. Elvis is an icon! He has a very awesome voice. There are many more songs you can react too. Check out How Great Thou Art. It is a masterpiece. Love your reaction!
(new sub -- Thank you.) BACKGROUND INFO: The original song is the French song entitled "Comme d'habitude" & composed by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version (My Way) was written by Paul Anka who re-wrote the original version for Frank Sinatra. Anka changed the lyrics & subtly altered the melodic structure. The original French song has nothing to do w-Paul Anka’s written version as we know it, for the translation of "Comme d'habitude" meaning is “something that happens regularly” or “that isn't surprising.” There is a video of the original French version w-English subtitles on the internet. Sinatra’s daughter Nancy said Sinatra did not like the song to the point of hating it. Sinatra said it was "self-serving" but performed it many times anyway. Elvis did it all regards types of music -- country, gospel, r&b, etc., etc. -- there wasn't anything he could not do -- can't say the same for most singers.
Interesting! "comme d'habitude", is what I would say as a French speaker when someone asks how my day is going "like usual". Not at all similar to the "My Way" title, so I could definitely see how they changed it up, didn't know that! Thanks for subbing and tuning in, I really appreciate it.
@@DanCanReact I have a comment re: what looked like you closing your eyes. While Elvis was tame & subdued in Hawaii, you can't take your eyes off of him when watching a live performance. Elvis was very spontaneous, he could do something totally unexpected, a hand motion, a swirl around, etc., he even flubbed a few lyrics & you'd see him laugh to himself all while singing right along as if nothing happened; he even very subtly "gave the finger" to someone on stage as a joke, all while going on w-the song. Elvis never repeated himself -- he would do 2, 3, or 4 versions & performances of the same song & they were all different -- not like now where everything is perfectly rehearsed. Once he did something, that was it -- he never repeated himself. So eyes open at all times. Thanks.
If you think his voice was powerful in this performance, and it is, but you are going to be floored when you react to some of his other live performances. OMG!!! You have no idea what you are in for 😂. I can't wait to see your other Elvis reactions. I sent another comment further down regarding links. Please let me know. ❤
Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis. One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.
A correction. Elvis was king of rock'n 'roll. Michael Jackson was king of pop. Great video Look at Elvis performing American Trilogy or unchained melody. (From his last live performance)

Thanks for watching Loris! 40 pounds is insane for a bodysuit 😅 I wonder if throwing that would hurt some LOL!
Some of the suits weighed Considerably more than 40lbs!
REQUESTS:
ELVIS PRESLEY - You've Lost That Loving Feeling (Las Vegas 1970) 4K (4:15)
Johnny Cash - A Boy Named Sue (Live at San Quentin, 1969) (3:20)
John Denver - Annie's Song (from The Wildlife Concert) (3:02)
Wow 75 pounds?? That's like something I'd wear during my workouts at the gym, that's extremely impressive, how could he move with that 😲
@DanCanReact Sheer determination and grit. And, when performing in Vegas, he did 2 shows a night 7 days a week for a month straight with no days off.
75,000 back in the 70s is a lot of cash!
@@DanCanReact Approx. $530,700 now, give or take.
If you truly want to understand Elvis’s career, you should start out watching his earliest raw performances. During his life, he went from a truck driver , to a national sensation. After serving 2 years in the Army, he had a successful/profitable movie career.
He wanted to get back to performing for live audiences, so after the tremendous success of his 1968 TV broadcast..⭐️🎵
Well , check it out yourself. There is plenty of video on YT.
Thanks for sharing!
And thanks for watching! Elvis is so multi talented it's actually scary 😱
Aloha From Hawaii is one of the best concerts EVER, by anyone.
Two other standout songs from the concert are American Trilogy, and You Gave Me A Mountain.
Great reaction brother. Thanks, from Ireland.

He could reach in and touch your soul with his songs and his charisma.
Ayy, nice to see you on another video Todd, thanks for tuning in!
*SUBBED BECAUSE I LOVE ELVIS FOREVER*
That's much appreciated, thanks for watching!!
@Dan - I saw Elvis LIVE at Notre Dame, the year before he died…I was only 8 and I’ve been to maybe 1000 concerts of various bands over the years…Elvis was an unforgettable showman!
You went that long ago and still remember it? That must have been a crazy show!!
thanks for your great reaction but you need to see some of his grand early stuff. Now 80 I realize after seeing him in concert twice he is the greatest performer of all time. be Blessed.
700 songs is a feat! How many artists can say they made that many songs 😮

Will do more in the future, maybe after my next video :)

First, thank you for reacting to Elvis, and I've subbed for that reason. ❤
I see that a lot of people are requesting performances for you to react to, but have not provided links.
It's important to get links so you react to the correct performance.
If you would like to continue down this Elvis journey, and I strongly encourage you to do so, because I swear, you will NOT be disappointed. Elvis has a massive amount of live performances that will no doubt blow you away. This performance is just a small taste of what is to come. I promise you.
Elvis was so much more than just the music. He was an incredible human, so generous, kind and loving to everyone, no matter who you were. He had a beautiful heart and soul, and fans.....real fans.....love him for the music, but more importantly, for who he was.
I would be more than happy to send you links.

1970...live
Thanks.
do more elvis please
Will do! This did very well :)
If you think his voice was powerful in this performance, and it is, but you are going to be floored when you react to some of his other live performances.

Listen to the impossible dream by Elvis. He has sooo many songs
You're right, he has hundreds of songs 😵
👑✌️
👑👑
Elvis Presley fue el 1 y el ultimo, nadie como el , solo sus hijos musicales, Freddie mercury y Michael jackson.
You're right!
A quintessential rags to riches story! I'm very glad he was alive, to produce such amazing music that will be listened for years to come.
If you look up the word BLING in the dictionary you'll find a picture of Elvis
😂💯

Elvis.. the first King of Bling.. not doubt. Elvis I think sang it best.. Better than Frank Sinatra.. but did you just call Elvis the King of Pop??? Sweetie.. Elvis was the King of Rock.. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop.
It's not completely wrong to be fair, cause pop encapsulates music that is popular over a broad audience, and Elvis was appreciated by billions of people. So I could argue he is the king of Pop as well!
You have to listen to Frank Sinatras singing this.
