Thank you Zakk, for, your sincere Elvis reaction. I'm 78 and was 31 when Elvis died. His music, from gospel to rock has brought so much pleasure into my life. Your dedication to him in this video speaks volumes.
You have to remember Elvis was kissing women and dancing, so it was pretty fluid considering the antics. He did a lot in 42 years. Saw him twice in concert and I can't tell you the aura this guy had, not only his looks but he had this way of personally touching just you, it was so personal. the lady back up singers were "the sweet inspirations' that he had heard that were backup for Aretha Franklin, he loved them and believe it was quite unusual for a superstar singer to pick a black group, in that era. He did the Beatles, to show respect you know they went to meet him in the 60's and they just stared at him for a while and then he said "If we aren't going to play, I need to go to bed". Then they all laughed and Paul and he did guitar together. Elvis sat in a chair and they sat on the floor circled around him like he was God. Funny. those to this day among many say Elvis was their influence, Bruce Springstein , Bruno Mars, Garth Brooks, Elton John, Jimmy Hendrix, Britney Spears, Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, Bono, Cher, Mick Jagger, Micheal Bluble', and on and on. Sometime you need to react to what his TCB band members said about him. They said he always had a joke and a smile never hassled them, but joked all the time. Especially funny was the time John Wilkerson said he and James and Ronnie in the middle of a Vegas show, rolled some marbles across the stage, Elvis laughed harder than anyone else. he thought it was hilarious. His poor father who handled finance nearly had a heart attack when he threw the gem studdered cape out into the crowd in the Hawaii special. It was estimated to be worth around 20 grand. He didn't care about money and gave a lot of it away. See" Elvis Presley 200 Cadillacs" that was insane. Thanks for this great reaction, so enjoyable and do many great comments. I appreciate you.
Led Zeppelin visited with Elvis at the International Hotel, after watching his concert. They all loved Elvis & were in awe of him. They had a good time with him & have said it is a highlight of their career that they met & spent some time with Elvis.
Well done Zak - I really enjoyed this. This show was captured as one of the ten shows that RCA recorded in order to achieve material to compile what would become the In Person album. All ten shows were finally released in their enirety on the superb 2019 box set - Elvis 1969 - where all shows were wonderfully remastered. Just a wee nudge here for a future reaction - as sublime as these August 1969 shows are, his greatest ever show is widely regarded as being 12 months later - 12 August 1970 Midnight show - for a variety of reasons. The majority of the show was filmed by MGM and is avalable on UA-cam and the show is also avialable in audio format too. Keep up the good work.
@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon hi leon:) thank you for all the incredible elvis content you put together for us seriously one of my favorite elvis ch's first take to masters series **chef kiss**
Thanks Leon. I'm intrigued by the "from first take to the master" series you've got on your channel. Gonna have to peak around and try not to spoil myself!
@@zakkthrowback if you do zakk pls record any of them you listen to so you can share it with us the series is great because you get to hear elvis being himself in the studio and his input on some stuff :)
no one has "watched" this show unless you were actually in the audience aug 25th 1969 no video exists except possibly in some private collectors vault that is yet unseen or known
Its great to see the younger generation enjoying Elvis's music. Can I just point out without disrespecting your enthusisum Elvis never shoved anything up his nose. He was totally against street drugs. Anything Elvis took was prescribed by a Doctor. He didnt even drink alcohol. He was so passionate about his music and putting on the best performance for his fans. Iam surprised and upset that the older generation in your chat never explained this to you. When he gets tongue tied thats not the effects of drugs thats pure raw nerves. Hope you continue to enjoy Elvis's music and his performances. Take care
@@zakkthrowbackAs said above, Elvis Never used illegal street drugs. He sadly had an addiction to prescribed medications, as many others have had, & many are suffering right now. Even more sad is that the Dr who travelled with him & cared for him at Graceland, was only too willing to hand out medication to Elvis, because he had taken personal loans from Elvis. Addicts crave what they are addicted to, & Elvis was no different to anyone else who has an addiction. From 1974 until his death in 1977, he was suffering from several medical problems & was in pain, & was using more prescribed drugs than previously. His heart failed him in the end, just as it had done to his mother, who passed when she was 46 of a heart attack, & he father who died of a cardiac arrested 18 months after he lost Elvis. He was in his early sixties when he died. And Lisa Marie also died of a cardiac arrest … in fact she had three cardiac arrests on the day she died. She was also addicted to prescription medications. Elvis’ on-stage persona was extrovert, but off-stage he suffered badly from anxiety about performing, even though he loved it. Before his concerts, he would sing gospel songs with the Sweet Inspirations. His father usually travelled with him, as an emotional support.
Loved little extras in Heart Break Hotel and his laugh in beginning of the last line. Hound Dog is faster and better than usual with a great blast off. Fabulous voice and energy of Elvis with fun comments and laughter -great show
Elvis played piano He played guitar. Watch it live in 1970 You're such a lovely person, thank you for playing Elvis the most iconic man in rock n roll. You brought a lot of memories back with these songs, my Nan used to play Elvis as well. I'm not surprised he was nervous. He was in the film contract for too long. 33 films were really not necessary and his manager should never have signed him up for so long.
He didn't feel threading of the Beatles he just didn't like it when John Lennon said that he was bigger than God, or something like that. SO, 1970, he went to visit President Nixon, and told him that the Beatles made a lot of money here in the USA,and that they were influencing the youth. SO, in turn the FBI, started a file on the Beatles❗😊I've read almost all books on ELVIS‼️😊
Unless you watched Elvis in person and saw his moves, you have no idea how GREAT he was. Please watch Suspicious Minds from 1970’s That’s The Way It Is. You’ll understand what the hype was all about. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Thank you.
1935 on January 8 a huge star was born, but sadly in 1977 on august 16 we lost a great musician, a amazing singer, but we also lost a amazing humanitarian that helped so many people that he did not even know. Today over 46 years after his death, people are still calling Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll (Elvis said that Chuck Berry was, if any human could be that). Elvis didn't like that title and he said several times: The only true King is God Jesus Christ, he said this several times. I think that Elvis is a MASTER not only of Rock'n roll, he is a MASTER of many genres of music because he can sing very well in any genre. What do you think, is he good enough to be called a music King, or Master? Elvis was really in my mind, a MASTER of GOSPEL and other music, in my mind no one does it better then him, but he is best known for making Rock'n roll famous. He was called The King of Rock'n roll, but he never liked that people called him that, he repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them: I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King (sometimes he also said Jesus Christ is the only King)... He also never liked the "so called joke" Elvis the Pelvis, he loved Jokes, but that was for him very hurtful to hear people say, or write that. Did you know that Elvis was a Sandy Blonde with Blue Eyes, if you go to Graceland, at the stairs leading to Elvis and Lisa Maries room, there is a painting of Elvis with his natural haircolor. Elvis was born in the poor part of Tupelo Mississippi (in a shotgun houses) and it was mainly Afro Americans living there, at the place where Elvis family lived there only lived couple of more white families, the rest was mainly colored people. Elvis family was dirt poor until he became an artist, he started singing mainly in colored peoples church during his childhood. Did you know that he had some colored friends (not close), one of his friends where James Brown, yes THAT James Brown (The King of Soul). James sat for hours by Elvis coffen at his funeral. Another artist that he sometimes talked to was Sammy Davies Jr that came and listened to many of Elvis performances in Las Vegas... Elvis had some sort of friendship with Jackie Wilson that lead to him paying for Jackies medical bills to he passed on according to Jackies son, listen at 07:15-09:55 is it true: ua-cam.com/video/hvurXJE-tgw/v-deo.html He also was a friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight. Elvis admired Martin Luther King, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortunately he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time. He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, (Insomnia) sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome, things that affected his real life and made him needed medication to function. Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people. At this time they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects). He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it. Many out of his relatives died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age. He could never really be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life. There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time ! He is the only person to have 60 records gone to sell Gold since he died. Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres. Not bad for someone who failed in his music class (in school, he got a F), he also never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right? Something else that people tend to overlook: He always conducts his musicians and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to doing that. Imagen you are a singer, you have great Musicians, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Auto tune, no Lip singing and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure? At the time when Elvis started to perform, Auto tune did not exist yet and when it became available, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you ! That is what Elvis did in over 1 600 concerts (during his 20 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy. He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never wrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self. The fact that he had Glaucoma must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting! This unfortunately made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car. Members of the Memphis maffia hava said so in interview's, but that is something that not many people knew about Elvis. I have read that Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit (GI), it was very light, but it was hot. That is one of the reasons that he sweat a lot, but some suits was heavy from all the jewelry on them. He got some bad press about sweating, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right? A important fact about Elvis success is his guitarist James Burton's sound, it was a big fact that made him sound different. Naturally his voice is the main factor for his success to, especially his fast and natural vibrato, I think both things played a crucial role in his success... About the deep base voiced JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps and sets Quartet) he is a Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base. A video about him helping others, look at this: ua-cam.com/video/CrJ1c9tm-C0/v-deo.html Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbor, he talked to the nations about taking the Polio vaccine, Elvis took the first injection himself. He also helped by donating a big amount of money to St Jude hospital, they fight against cancer (especially children with). During the years he gave away loads of jewelry, he gave away cars, he even gave away some houses to total strangers. Elvis started an organization that helps people to get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation), this organization helps people even now close to 50 years after he passed away. A thing that you perhaps did not know: Elvis ALMOST NEVER did a show OUTSIDE OF USA, yes he did sing a few times in Canada: 4 concerts, 2 times in Toronto, 1 time in Ottawa and 1 time in Vancouver (during the 50:s?). When the Aloha From Hawaii (Live in Honolulu 1973) was showed it had over to 1 Billion viewers from around the whole world and 3.7 billion people lived on earth at this time, so it was close to 1/4 of all of the population on the earth that viewed the show, it was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the globe. Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died: ua-cam.com/video/PO8Kq_3KTyI/v-deo.html I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the shotgun house in Tupelo Mississippi where he lived in his early years, he was born there ! You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realize that from the front of the house. I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/the person/the man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music. So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about. GRACELAND should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come ! Elvis did lots of things for the people in America to, he helped in a big way to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccine in a TV show and that made the interest for taking the vaccine to go up from 0,6 % all the way up to 80 % in 6 months). So in 6 months he got 79.4 % more of the American people take the Polio vaccine and shortly after it was said to have been eradicated from USA. Elvis also helped in the fight to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St Jude's children cancer treatment clinic by donating a huge amount of money to them. He also helped to raise money to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbor and many other things!
......................... this is so overly dramatic & full of inaccuracies sorry but its way too much especially for someone just beginning their elvis discovery
@@belinda35_77I agree. Elvis actually said that if he had to choose who the King of rock and roll was, he said it was "Chuck Berry." But that there is only one King and it was Jesus Christ. But you are correct in your opinion regarding the inaccuracies. ❤
~ magnuslofgren, you forgot to mention that Elvis and his parents lived in a rental house on Getwell Road in Memphis during early 1956 when he made his very first national television appearances and when "Heartbreak Hotel" was released. -- You also didn't mention that Elvis Presley's 1960 album "ELVIS IS BACK!" was never ever released by RCA Victor on cassette tape in the United States... (before or after his death). -- And you didn't mention that "ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM" was retitled to "ELVIS SINGS SONGS OF CHRISTMAS" when RCA Victor issued it on the 8-track cartridge format, because at the time (mid-to-late 1960s) an 'album' was considered an LP vinyl record only. -- And doggone it, you failed to mention anything about SONY Music needing to issue a CD titled "Taking Care of Unfinished Business ~ ELVIS' GOLD RECORDS, Volume 6" 📀🎶 😃
@@Allen-vl7zq Thanks, but I must say that I did not know that much about the other houses, so thanks for that info, besides I was afraid to put in anymore.
I have never heard this album in its entirely, Thanks for this. You have my full attention. One of the backup singers is Whitney Houston's mother. I love them❤
Regarding the Bestles .. they did meet, they visited him by invite on 27th August 1965. They were terrified, Paul McCartney said, here we were "4 lads from Liverpool about to meet the iconic King of Rock n roll" They had sung some of Elvis's songs. He told them he liked Hey Jude & Get back .. they said they'd be honoured if he sang them. Afterwards, he told Sonny West, ^I like those guys but what the hell is wrong with their teeth" lol They said that without Elvis there would be no Beatles. John Lennon said, " Nothing affected me until I heard Elvis. Quote from John Lennon "Before Elvis, there was nothing"
just wanted to thank you again for doing this im so happy you seemed to really enjoy yourself!! love watching elvis make you smile! it was a blast & can't wait to continue on the journey with you ♡

Oh crap, I see that you did this live! Sorry that I was commenting here, instead of live. But I enjoyed it anyway! I have this album. I liked seeing your take on it! Loved your head bopping! RIP Elvis.
His moves in this show was great like his voice.❤ it. You need to watch this. He was a great entertainer & performer. He was trying to be funny & he was.
Whitney Houston's mother Sissy Houston is with the Sweet Inspirations during this engagement, her last performance with the group, where she went after that and why she left I don't know, maybe someone out there can fill the rest in, and thank you for playing this show for Elvis week. 🎉🎉🎉
cissy houston left the sweets after the 69 engagement because she had a solo career of her own & she didn't like being away from her children for months at a time but myrna smith, sylvia shemwell & estelle brown stayed with elvis till his death estelle brown is still alive and still speaks about elvis at cons all over the world i believe her & jerry scheff were in germany last yr or year before for an elvis festival estelle never missed a show over a thousand times elvis walked on that stage she was there she truly truly loved & still does love that man i believe her & james (only living members of tcb band & her of the sweets) & john (deceased ) were the only ones to never miss a show they where there from 69-77 every single time elvis walked on stage other living members are glen & jerry :)
Hi ❗I'm new, I love ELVIS and I've been watching you for the past hour. Idk why I feel asleep and you still on. I guess from listening to you that your new too❓I'm glad your liking ELVIS. I'VE LOVED HIM SINCE I HEARD SUSPIOUS MINDS. I'M SYRE I'VE HEARD HIS MUSIC BEFORE BUT SUSPICIOUS MINDS, WAS THE ONE I SEEM TO REMEMBER BEST. I MET ELVIS IN VEGAS IN 1973.
This is my hope too ….. it is Always best to watch Elvis perform, because you don’t get the passion & emotion that Elvis puts into his music in his live performances, & you just don’t get that listening to audio.
Elvis was such a singer that by just listening to his songs over Radio or a Record or a cassette people all over the world because his fans. Publicity was not at all a concern back then, only his quality music prevailed!
It was Elvis, Scotty Moore and Bill Black on bass when Elvis started. No drums until later and Burton joined the team in 1969 with the rest of the TCB band.
@@zakkthrowback Live? Please do the ‘68 Comeback Special ….. Elvis in the white suit with his name in red lights 40 ft high behind him ….. he does the most wonderful tribute to Martin Luther King Jnr after his assassination ….. & Please do Elvis’ 1970 Las Vegas concerts Live.
Suspicious Minds was one of his best songs without a doubt. So dynamic. It seemed to stop time when it came on the radio...and his voice rang out like a god (of sorts) :)
Jane H ….. I watched one of his 1970 concerts in Las Vegas, in which he was talking about his Gator ade. At another of his 1970 Vegas concerts, he spilt his Gator ade & then spent the rest of the concert with his feet sticking on the sticky floor. Enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing it with us.
What I'd Say was a Ray Charles song and clearly chosen to end the concert on a "high" (speed, energy soul).... right before the lasttttt song...his most popular ballad Can't Help Falling in Love... I think it is the most played song at weddings.
First, remember the Life Story Monologue was done 50+ years ago. We might know all of that stuff now because of the massive number of books written about him since his death-the audience needed to hear it from him. Second,Elvis disliked giving speeches and talking about himself. He got very nervous (cleared his throat a lot, etc). Not only that, he had a speech impediment (stuttering). So cut him some slack.
HAVE YOU WATCHED THE '68 SPECIAL⁉️ HE WAS GORGEOUS IN THAT, AND HE SANG EVEN BETTER I FEEL. HIS FIRST LIVE CONCERT AFTER DOING 7 YRS OF MOVIES. ITS A MUST SEE‼️ I HAVE IT ON VHS, AND I TRANSFERRED IT TO GOLD CD.😊
Elvis never did encores!!!😊 You have to watch him perform this live in 1970. Unfortunately his performances from 69 were not professionally recorded which is a travesty 😢
He did encores mostly in the last couple years of his life semi-frequently. Mostly they were the songs Hurt and How Great Thou Art. But, he sometimes would only re-do the last big notes of the songs.
Oh, with 'Love Me Tender', Elvis would typically use the song to give scarves and to kiss the girls; shake hands, etc. The great part about it is that there is about a 4 minute clip of Elvis doing this and then spontaneously deciding to come off the stage to go through the crowd. So, there's a lot more out there!
No, not walking through the audience during Love Me Tender. Going up and down the stage shaking hands with guys and kissing women. I was there in '69 and have never witnessed anything like this charismatic man. He lit up not only the room, but all of Vegas. Most excitement and fun in my life going there through the years.
Jane H …. My husband & I are new to your channel (since yesterday …. We are watching from New Zealand) … & mostly enjoying your videos, but we would love to see you doing his Live performances which are great.
This is better in person-you understand more when you see the interaction with the audience. I don’t think Elvis was “on” anything, although he did use uppers at this time-more than anything, this is just Elvis’s sense of humor. If you watch his cousin Billy talk on his channel, he is always cracking jokes. Elvis has very self effacing sense of humor and also a bit British in that he loved Peter Sellers’s--if you watch those it may explain his humor. He also was from the South, and he makes a lot of references “woolly booger”, “fool”, that are southern.
I think for his big concerts, there was a comedian while people were waiting for Elvis to come out. Other than that, just his musicians & his back up singers. Elvis adlibs at times & Are You Lonesome Tonight is one that he adlibs to at times …. Well, he did it one time & someone in the audience did something in response, & Elvis started laughing & he just couldn’t stop through the whole song. It was being recorded for television & so they put it out as a single & people loved it. The songs Elvis did in the late 60s & through the 70s are Amazing.
Elvis didn't walk in the audience until 1970 august, please see the Elvis mgm movie 🎥 thats the way it is from las Vegas and the outtakes on the 2 dvd set
Sweet Inspirations were his backup singers, same as the Imperials. Tom Jones & Elvis had become close friends & Tom used to join Elvis & family on vacation in Hawaii. In the Ghetto was written by the songwriter Mac Davis that Elvis introduced. He had offered it to Sami Davis Jnr who turned it down, saying he had not grown up in poverty. He suggested that Mac offer it to Elvis, because he knew his friend had grown up in poverty & would do the song justice. Elvis’ manager said it would destroy Elvis’ career if he recorded it, but Elvis wanted to draw attention to the plight of thousands of poor people living in America, & he went ahead & recorded it. It was a Number One Hit for him … & of course that put a lot of money into Mac Davis’ pocket too
According to what I’ve seen on the internet, from several sources, Elvis did 636 SOLD OUT concerts at the International Hotel up until his death in August 1977. Every concert he did there, was Sold Out. I know the three concerts he did in 1972 in Madison Square Garden, New York, were Sold Out … he was only supposed to do two concerts, but they were so quickly sold out, that a third concert was put in …. Each concert had an audience of 20,000 & Elvis broke the Record for those Sold Out performances, & held it for a number of years. I think his biggest concert was to an audience of 60,000 …. Was that at Omaha in 1975 or 76?? Not sure where that biggest concert was, or what year it was.
elvis did 4 consecutive/back to back sold out shows at madison square garden he was the first entertainer in history to sell out 4 consecutive shows at the garden those shows were filled with celebrities some of the beattles, elton john, robert plant..tons of rock royalty were there and i believe his biggest audience was when he played in canada i believe his largest audience in the states was new yrs eve in pontiac michigan 1975 over 60,000 people
Here are some of his spiritual songs: Amazing Graze, How great though art, I found this version of this great song: How great thou art A Capella: ua-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/v-deo.html You'll never walk alone, Crying in the chapel, Take me home precious lord, Why me Lord (written by Kris Kristofferson), I'm not sure if it's a gospel song Help me and many more, he also made several Christmas songs, also some type of Blues songs. . Here are some ballads and other songs: Green Green grass of home, Devil in Disguise, Softly as I leave you, Tomorrow never comes, An American Trilogy, I Was The One, Snowbird, Blue Christmas, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words he says in the beginning), Love letters, Devil In Disguise, My Boy, Angel, Don´t, Heartbreak Hotel, Old MacDonald, Crying in the chapel, Moody blue, That's Someone You Never Forget (tribute to his mom Gladys), Please don't stop loving me, Oh happy day, Music is the food of your soul, Don't, You gave me a mountain, Unchained melody, My Way, Suspicious minds, In the Ghetto (written by Mac Davies), Memories (written by Mac Davies), If I can dream that is a tribute (parts of it is taken directly from the I can dream speech by MLK) to Martin Luther King JR and senator Robert Kennedy, What now my love, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words in the beginning), Welcome to my world, Make The World Go Away, I'll Remember You, Let me be there, Bridge Over Troubled Water, It's Now Or Never (O Sole Mio), An American Trilogy, Hurt, Sweet Caroline, Just Pretend, What now my love, Are you lonesome tonight (laughing version, or not), Oh Danny Boy (for you Irish people), a song that many might not know that he sung it is this one, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Blue suede shoes, Hound dog, I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water, My Boy, Solitaire, well remember that he sang over 800 songs, yes most of them Covers, but that made the artists that he covered more popular and they also got some money from it... Have you heard Elvis and his backup singers A Capella (without instruments) before, otherwise listen and enjoy this one and you will finally find out how GREAT his voice was: ua-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/v-deo.html Some a bit unusual, songs people might have missed: Stranger in my own town (Blues jamming X rated), Lawdy miss Clawdy, He Touched Me, Let it be me, Blueberry Hill, Turn around Look at me, A mess of blues, Pledging my love Another video you might want to see is Elvis a Generous heart, or Elvis Presley The king of kindness, ua-cam.com/video/GLzGS3qKZbk/v-deo.html (Elvis won a Grammy video) !! There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time! If you like to listen to tributes, then these might be good: The Memphis Lallaby (If you love Elvis music and story, this might make you cry) ua-cam.com/video/xBZoj1gf_VQ/v-deo.html Love Me Tender (James Brown): ua-cam.com/video/zrBk0WErpHU/v-deo.html Walking in Memphis (Marc Cohn): ua-cam.com/video/PgRafRp-P-o/v-deo.html The Letter (Wayne Newton) This might even contain Elvis written chorus, I don't know if it was his words, or not: ua-cam.com/video/zB2xKw7V46M/v-deo.html . I came up with a "fantasy" concert, I could really imagine myself watching and listening to Elvis and these artists: Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Freddie Murcery, Bob Marley and Elvis Presley (if I could hear Elvis sing some duets with Lisa Marie to). Would you go and watch them perform if you could, or who would you like to see and hear if you could choose anyone???
He's not on anything!! I was there all through those years. This '69 engagement in Vegas brought people from around the world to see what were phenomenal shows and magic! He talked and cut up all the time. One thing that made him so beloved 47 years after he's gone. No other like him. He was all over that stage and up close the audience. No one worked harder.
You have to remember Elvis was a country boy, raised in poverty. Some of his expressions come from his southern, country past. He always was that person. He did not forget his upbringing. A wooly booger is a southern expression that refers to guy you might say is a bum, an unkempt man. Elvis used the expression in jest but, as a child, was probably called a wooly booger by more well off people.
Please .. give me more.. (original = Sal Schannon) your comments are llke a gift to the experience .. he was only a god given portal... i must see it this way, because what else whould be made off be my live of my live !!
Elvis , The Best !
To bad you young people didn't get to see him live he was fantastic in concert he was the greatest Elvis is so loved ❤❤❤❤❤
I saw his last two Concerts ❤ he was Awesome
Thank you Zakk, for, your sincere Elvis reaction. I'm 78 and was 31 when Elvis died. His music, from gospel to rock has brought so much pleasure into my life. Your dedication to him in this video speaks volumes.
Thanks Zakk: you can't go wrong going down the Elvis rabbit hole! You're a fine young man!!!
I love that you are doing this for Elvis week
Thank you RIP Elvis😊
Elvis Presley The King of music forever,, Elvis The best singer on artist all times,, Elvis The voice of God 🥇👑🌟♥️
You really had to see him doing Suspicious Minds. He was moving in time with the music. Incredible to see in person. Awesome!!!
Made my day
None of his songs end in a fade out. This is the way he orchestrated it.

Leon, it was 11 shows released on that 2019 box set, not just 10, but heck... you probably knew that.
all shook up oh man❤ this reminds me of helping my big brother on his paper round and listening to this on my little transistor radio ❤❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
I've watched this show. ❤ it
no one has "watched" this show unless you were actually in the audience aug 25th 1969
no video exists except possibly in some private collectors vault that is yet unseen or known
What a great evening I had with your Elvis music than you so much. Im from SA by the way.
Take care
That's a worthwhile distinction, thanks
He was really extremely nervous....and also he had sometimes a little stutter...
Fabulous voice and energy of Elvis with fun comments and laughter -great show
Best Rock n Roll ever!!! He can do anything. Love Elvis❤❤❤
I must say I love your ELVIS reaction videos you are so engaging with them very very refreshing DONT STOP,
Elvis on top of the world!❤❤❤❤❤❤
When u watch this in person you'll get it.
Thank you for your sincerity & please don't keep him in the genie jar 🙂
Elvis played piano
He played guitar.
Watch it live in 1970
You're such a lovely person, thank you for playing Elvis the most iconic man in rock n roll.
WHAT ⁉️You never hear of Mac Davis⁉️‼️❗❓😊 look him up, he wrote a lot of songs for many people ‼️😊
Unless you watched Elvis in person and saw his moves, you have no idea how GREAT he was. Please watch Suspicious Minds from 1970’s That’s The Way It Is. You’ll understand what the hype was all about. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Thank you.
By the way...your reactions are spot on. Keep going!🙏
Thanks for airing this. I seen one of the first shows at the international but don't remember much.
You’ve got to see him do this song live!

Loved this video, imagine beeing there when it happend...the energy....wow
You got to watch videos. Love❤ me Elvis Presley
I totally agree. You lose out a lot if you don’t see Elvis singing live.
Elvis didn't like that title and he said several times:
The only true King is God Jesus Christ, he said this several times.
He was called The King of Rock'n roll, but he never liked that people called him that, he repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them:
I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King (sometimes he also said Jesus Christ is the only King)...
Elvis had some sort of friendship with Jackie Wilson that lead to him paying for Jackies medical bills to he passed on according to Jackies son, listen at 07:15-09:55 is it true:
ua-cam.com/video/hvurXJE-tgw/v-deo.html
He also was a friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight.
Something else that people tend to overlook:
He always conducts his musicians and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to doing that.
A video about him helping others, look at this: ua-cam.com/video/CrJ1c9tm-C0/v-deo.html
Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbor, he talked to the nations about taking the Polio vaccine, Elvis took the first injection himself.
Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died:
ua-cam.com/video/PO8Kq_3KTyI/v-deo.html
I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the shotgun house in Tupelo Mississippi where he lived in his early years, he was born there !
He also helped to raise money to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbor and many other things!
.........................
this is so overly dramatic & full of inaccuracies
sorry but its way too much especially for someone just beginning their elvis discovery
@@belinda35_77I agree. Elvis actually said that if he had to choose who the King of rock and roll was, he said it was "Chuck Berry."
But that there is only one King and it was Jesus Christ.
They were terrified, Paul McCartney said, here we were "4 lads from Liverpool about to meet the iconic King of Rock n roll"
They had sung some of Elvis's songs.
He told them he liked Hey Jude & Get back .. they said they'd be honoured if he sang them.
Afterwards, he told Sonny West, ^I like those guys but what the hell is wrong with their teeth" lol
They said that without Elvis there would be no Beatles.
John Lennon said, " Nothing affected me until I heard Elvis.
Quote from John Lennon "Before Elvis, there was nothing"

I'VE LOVED HIM SINCE I HEARD SUSPIOUS MINDS. I'M SYRE I'VE HEARD HIS MUSIC BEFORE BUT SUSPICIOUS MINDS, WAS THE ONE I SEEM TO REMEMBER BEST. I MET ELVIS IN VEGAS IN 1973.
Songwriter Mac Davis wrote In The Ghetto for Elvis. It was a big hit. I don't believe anyone else recorded it.

This is my hope too ….. it is Always best to watch Elvis perform, because you don’t get the passion & emotion that Elvis puts into his music in his live performances, & you just don’t get that listening to audio.
He never treated a child with anything but respect and kindness.
Nice cover art..he looks good here

Suspicious Minds was one of his best songs without a doubt. So dynamic. It seemed to stop time when it came on the radio...and his voice rang out like a god (of sorts) :)
I have two Elvis tattoos. One TCB and one is his signature
I was 20 when he died hit me and my wife hard.

You should go watch the Elvis 68 comeback special you’d really like it
What I'd Say was a Ray Charles song and clearly chosen to end the concert on a "high" (speed, energy soul).... right before the lasttttt song...his most popular ballad Can't Help Falling in Love... I think it is the most played song at weddings.
Just think 600 plus shows at the International all sold out amazing.
elvis played 837 consecutive sold out shows in vegas between 1969-1976
and another 98 consecutive sold out shows in lake tahoe between 1971-1976
First, remember the Life Story Monologue was done 50+ years ago.
10000000000000000000nnnnn of like ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
See the live versions of Suspicious mind!
Suspicious Minds his last No 1 song.
Billboard
Oh, with 'Love Me Tender', Elvis would typically use the song to give scarves and to kiss the girls; shake hands, etc. The great part about it is that there is about a 4 minute clip of Elvis doing this and then spontaneously deciding to come off the stage to go through the crowd. So, there's a lot more out there!
Molto bello ascoltare sempre Elvis.
Bel lavoro , ma sarebbe ancora più bello vedere Elvis ! Non ci sono filmati di questo concerto?
The driving bass of Jerry Scheff!! FK YEAH! 👑✌️
No, not walking through the audience during Love Me Tender. Going up and down the stage shaking hands with guys and kissing women. I was there in '69 and have never witnessed anything like this charismatic man. He lit up not only the room, but all of Vegas. Most excitement and fun in my life going there through the years.
U couldn't always hear smootching. Sometimes( mostly they grabbed & give him a good one.❤
Jane H …. My husband & I are new to your channel (since yesterday …. We are watching from New Zealand) … & mostly enjoying your videos, but we would love to see you doing his Live performances which are great.
That’s correct ELVIS never did encore except what I say ? In ‘69
This is better in person-you understand more when you see the interaction with the audience.
In the Getto, was sang in the 70's. 😊
👑✌️
Reversal this album. Hot August Night was a Neil Diamond album recorded live in the Shell venue, in, I think, LA.
Elvis didn't walk in the audience until 1970 august, please see the Elvis mgm movie 🎥 thats the way it is from las Vegas and the outtakes on the 2 dvd set
I have a tcb tattoooo ahahaa
It was a Number One Hit for him … & of course that put a lot of money into Mac Davis’ pocket too
Note.EP white jump suit is not ready....he wore black here......but later he would wear the white jump suit
You really have to look at a video of Suspicious Minds to get why it keeps going. Look at a video from 1970 - his athleticism is mind blowing.
Not sure where that biggest concert was, or what year it was.
elvis did 4 consecutive/back to back sold out shows at madison square garden
he was the first entertainer in history to sell out 4 consecutive shows at the garden
those shows were filled with celebrities
some of the beattles, elton john, robert plant..tons of rock royalty were there
and i believe his biggest audience was when he played in canada
i believe his largest audience in the states was new yrs eve in pontiac michigan 1975 over 60,000 people

Some a bit unusual, songs people might have missed:
Stranger in my own town (Blues jamming X rated), Lawdy miss Clawdy, He Touched Me, Let it be me, Blueberry Hill, Turn around Look at me, A mess of blues, Pledging my love
Another video you might want to see is Elvis a Generous heart, or Elvis Presley The king of kindness, ua-cam.com/video/GLzGS3qKZbk/v-deo.html (Elvis won a Grammy video) !!
There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time!
If you like to listen to tributes, then these might be good:
The Memphis Lallaby (If you love Elvis music and story, this might make you cry) ua-cam.com/video/xBZoj1gf_VQ/v-deo.html
Love Me Tender (James Brown): ua-cam.com/video/zrBk0WErpHU/v-deo.html

I came up with a "fantasy" concert, I could really imagine myself watching and listening to Elvis and these artists:
Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Freddie Murcery, Bob Marley and Elvis Presley (if I could hear Elvis sing some duets with Lisa Marie to).
Vegas..
