BEST CAR EVER. it has even more options that lots of new french cars (it is normal, they suck). drive is smooth, comfortable, no noise from outside thanks to double glass. and is's so big :) and even the V6 is quite good, but drinks a lot 15 l/100km, so imagine the v12 :)
what i meant is that the release of the ls set them back to make their cars more affordable since the ls was selling so well, so they had to redesign earlier than expected.

They can say anything in their ads. For example, when the C first came out, they said "We designed a car that can stop from 60-0 in 4 seconds" when in reality, the car was mediocre in braking tests. What they say about testing may be true, but what is inferred may not.
Well, with either the 500SEL, or later S500 you get a lot more standard features, not to mention the long wheelbase. And with 300+ HP it has adequate power whereas the S320 is working hard to keep the 4700+/-lb car at speed so Gas mileage becomes so close by comparison, and ends being determined on how you drive. S500s more often have power rear seats/headrests, and one that I was recently in had the suede headliner. And yes I'm planning on buying one soon.
mercedes is the best i drove this s-class w140 but with the v6 it still powerfull and fast for its weight and very comftable more comftable then alot of new cars. and lexus is a toyota with leather seats and toys that r taken from s-class
i obeyed big willie's advice at the end (i had however shut my finger in the window of my mum's audi 80 about two years earlier, where was he then). i did not however obey the advice he did not give, the advice about not attempting to get my parents to let me listen to "je t'aime moi non plus".

I think, that in the 21st century or thereabout they started making them to a price, rather than a standard as before, but they say, that on the 2005+ cars they have cut their profits to make them to a standard again... I don't think, that they were too expensive back in the 90's, but the profit was just not so big... I hope, that this answers your quenstion...
Well Maybach is a fine car very well made especially Brabus Maybach. But the problem with Merc is that they slap on the badge at anything and sell them at a high price

He mocks Mercedes quality as the worst in the business- his seat is broken and the headlight (not the bulb) is broken, among many other things. And remember his review of the CLS? His main criticism is the pointed star on the front. Know how he talks of his SLK and SL, and how they are awful because they are in the shop constantly?? If you are going to do this on a TG movie, know your stuff.
Mercedes is the best, but the design suggests that the owner is being driven. Whilst Audi and BMW suggest that the owner is the driver. That is why is would buy an Audi A8, even if it is not half as good.

My sister has a Lexus, been in the garage so many times, its a diesel & won't do more than 25mpg. Guess what she's planning for her next car? A C220 CDi Merc. You carry on with your Lexus love-in mate,bet you wear hush puppies&brown cardies!
It's a petty that there are so many trashy people driving a W140 nowadays. Many of these W140 are not original anymore, and have lot's of ugly aftermarket stuff.

The Mercedes S-Class AND The Jaguar XJ are the best luxury cars out there in MY opinion

I was commenting on jardonnour's comment, he speaks of a V6 which did not exist in this car. The lovely 3.2 was the "Six".

planning to aswell, a friend of mine has a black S500L, it has the two rear cameras that pop up. Trouble is finding a good example, not high mileage
