In this lesson, we shall learn about the Japanese Verb 'imasu', which is from the root verb 'iru' meaning 'to exist' (used only for animate objects). How does it differ from the very common 'desu' verb since 'desu' also indicates existence. In which scenarios, 'desu' and 'imasu' can be used interchangeably? In which scenarios, 'imasu' must exclusively be used? What happens when both animate & inanimate objects are present in the same sentence? Learn about two more prepositions of place - hidari (to the left) and migi (to the right).
