Thank you for your comments. This is also a reflection of the increasing difficulties of supplying figured walnut at a time when the increasing importation of mahogany reflected in the price led to changes. Demographic changes also played a part in the evolution of styles. David

The first one was clearly the nicest followed by ever simpler cheaper styles.
