I upgraded mine yesterday but haven’t had time to mess with it yet. I also upgraded my Mac version which cost $99 under upgrade pricing. I use Gadget for everything at this point. The workflow is amazing and I can work across devices which means I can create any time I want. FYI for anyone that doesn’t have Gadget... discounted pricing is going on until the end of March. Huge savings on the Mac version.
Dean W. Thomas I missed the first Mac release price. I finally committed and got Gadget 2 for mac. Your right every platform holds value and great workflow. The sounds out of the bag are banging. Defo gonna mix this up with maschine, maschine jam and kontrol s61 mk2.
@@BurstupTV I'd skip the PC/Mac version of Gadget. I have the Mac version and only use it really for the Audio Units in Ableton. I don't think the workflow is utilized very well without a touchscreen like the iPad has.
@@Arperture Agreed. I have Korg Gadget for the iPad and for the Mac, but no way I´m going to pay another 99 bucks for a program they charged me 299 bucks for only a few months ago.
I managed to send midi to AUM to different channels, which is great, because then you can play any auv3. Just set the output to AUM, then channel. You can sync with live, but does anybody know how to sync start/stop. Great video
Some good things about the iOS version: the drums have a new option to trigger different grooves, which is an awesome feature, also on Bilbao. There are some cool presets there and also lots of variations within the same ones and you can edit of course the beat as usual. But... you don’t have the possibility to embed the korg modules or the iM1 as it did on version 1. So, be careful if you wanna update and you make music with those gadgets.
woah! did not see grooves yet! THX what do you mean "don’t have the possibility to embed the korg modules or the iM1"? M1 seems still there, but was always dissapearing for me lately, talking about "remote install and such? i like to know what's going on there, as liking to use the tool often. Also on embedding module. I was never able to figure out how to play in-app Module sounds in Gadget. Some can find, but don't know f can use 80's pack or Ivory in the Gadget harness.
samprock usually you could see the in app gadgets such as the Montpellier or the M1 but for some reason they are not shown, on the other hand some apps lowered the price...
samprock I manage to fix it! You can adjust the view of the other gadgets on the settings-utility and then select the other gadgets that are available as in app purchase. So...
@@PabloDeModeOfficial You mean the basic buying M1 and enabling as Gadget in DAW? yes.... I don't see prices. Always buying any sht they release first day LOL
That would be awesome. And also I would like to have the option to export 24bit 48000 wav file... anyway this app still is one of the best for musicians, period!
I do Cubasis as an alternative to play all other Moog and Arturia synths, but blocking us to have straight AU3 is plain stupid and act of greed. They should not be having issue implementing all that for sure. "market strategy" ... which is lame. We can decide what is best and what want to pay for, not by market strategy, but what we WANT to play musically
You can actually send control to different channels in AUM, witch means you can use any auv3 in any combination, just tried it. I’m not sure yet how to route the audio back thou. To be continued
I’ve been using gadget for a few years on iOS. The synth sounds are phenomenal. A well rounded music making tool. Will check out this iOS update. I just purchased Gadget 2 for Mac. Already hyped on it.
I find that Taipei is fantastic. Next step should be to make it easier to record that stuff into Zurich, currently is possible but not very user-friendly
I concur! I played with it more, see lotsa the potential with control provided in Taipei. I was driving iSEM with it last night. Very creative flow. But how is it possible to pick the audio back? Recorded into external app and copy into Zurich? Or you played with external hardware synth? In that flow I seems cannot press record midi on one gadget and audio rec on another. I am still missing an elephant here :)
samprock I recorded an external HW synth with Zurich ... and yes you have to be on mixer view and set rec active on the Zurich channel, if you go to another channel then you loose the sound. I guess that to record an auv3 instrument you might need to use something like AUM and record there and then import to gadget
Yes the update is free for iOS but $99.00 for Mac OS owners and if you already own the Polysix and MS-20 soft synths you are getting very little new utility for you money. MIDI out is not a big deal if you already have a DAW on your computer. I’m glad they updated my iOS version for free but not happy that they are charging me so much for software that I already paid more for in the first place. I can’t at this price for so little.
Couldn´t agree more. Cool update for iOs but they really try to rip off the Mac user. Not me. Stop loss! Paid 299 for Korg Gadget on Mac only a few months ago but I´m out for good and all. (A donkey does not hit the same rock twice.)
Apparently it depends on what date you brought the original Mac version of Gadget. Korg have multi tiered the discount so people who have brought the software a month ago will get a bigger discount to upgrade than someone who brought the package the first day it came out. So early Adaptors pay the full $99!

Nice presentation, Todd! One think not that killer release. All cool i don't have to pay for polysix and ms20, great synth to get into our favorite DAW. Sadly I was expecting an AU3 plugin option so as to add my fx/instrument to gadget making my Korg Gadget a full DAW like Cubasis/BeatMaker
