After so many noise bands on the late-nite shows, what an aural relief to again hear R&R with a melody and harmony and a reasonable SPL.

Colbert has amazing musical taste. He has introduced me to so many bands I never would have heard otherwise.

You're gonna have a good time going into the death cab rabbit hole. I've been listening to them for like 5 years now. My favorite song from them might be you are a tourist but they've been putting out bangers ever since the early 2000s

Favorite band of all time! Their new song is awesome!
Their last couple albums were good but didn't hit me much on an emotional level. This song however is amazing, their most affecting in years. Brought me to tears, that first verse is something else.
Kintsugi was not good at all, but Thank You For Today was actually great and had a lot of emotion. I'm excited for this new album!

Kintsugi was great. No Room In Frame was peak Death Cab IMO. New album is definitely more complex than the last for sure!

Hearing this immediately after listening to Rep. Raskin relate Tommy Raskin's craving for "more democracy, not less", and knowing he was also a young man who lost his battle with illness, touched me deeply.
To Mr. Raskin, You are for me one of the reasons I haven't given up ALL hope in the avoidance of a theocratic oligarchy.
That's why we need to get everyone out and involved in voting.

I introduced my wife to Death Cab for Cutie in the car. When she saw the name of the band come up on the screen she was horrified, convinced I was about to play some hideous metal band. She loved them, of course.

For those saying they haven’t heard Death Cab in forever, check out 2015 Kintsugi and 2018 Thank you for Today. They’re pretty good.

Man this is the best band on the planet atm. Ben’s incredible singing is backed up with some of the best guitar I have heard. Northern Lights was my favourite song but this new one up there with their best work.

I often feel a Gord Downie vibe when I hear them sing. Am I the only one? It's a smoother flow, but the same passion is there.

Seeing them live at The Paramount Theater in Seattle was exhilarating.

I saw them perform in Auckland at the Civic and it was the best concert I've ever been to! The sound and light show was incredible and I wasn't even a fan then! I just got a ticket on a whim.

"According to the band’s frontman, Gibbard took the band name from the song of the same name, 'Death Cab for Cutie,' which was written by Neil Innes and Vivian Stanshall. That song was recorded by their group the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. The song appears on Bonzo’s 1967 debut album, Gorilla, and was performed in the 1967 movie, Magical Mystery Tour.
But even before that, the title of the song came originally from a story in an old pulp fiction crime magazine that Innes found in a street market some six decades ago." - Jacob Uitti.

Ben is the lead singer and dave is the backup singer. Not everyone in the band can sing as well as they do. That’s why they have people to sing, people to play the drums, people to play bass and such.

What is with this revival of Gen X bands? I am in no way knocking it. I love it. But I wonder what is going on? It's very much an alternative rock/post punk revival.
I’m not sure, but Death Cab has been releasing new stuff pretty consistently every 3-4 years.
Yeah bands like Death Cab and Jimmy Eat World never really stopped putting out great music and touring.
This is much less DCFC reviving themselves and moreso continuing to make music. They've released new records consistently every 2-5 years ish since the late 90s

All the guitars are live, the fake bit you're hearing is that sample being fired in the outro, that's coming out of a Macbook somewhere, probably also piping the click to the drummer.
