Personally I rate the John Lewis one a little higher as it seems better value, and the bacon was a stock issue. They also do tomatoes, which M&S don't seem to. Personally I think tomatoes belong on a full English even more than beans. The fact that you can keep going back and getting whatever you prefer on the JL breakfast is always great too, especially if you're a fan of tea.

Ever tried a BHS breakfast? Remember going to Edinburgh on a very early flight once - too early to contemplate breakfast. flew up, landed and got taxi to guesthouse to drop off bags (too early to check in but they were happy to hold them) - walked thru the gardens/parks to Princes St and had a top brekkie. Gave the energy needed to go explore.
@@everydayimeating3407 Yes Indeed, I highly recommend you do, I've been a loyal shopper there for most of my life simply because their food quality is excellent and consistent.
Tough call here. Overall, both are top-tier frying. I suppose my only quarrel with a pot of beans in these establishments is that sometimes the bean to bean wet ratio is outweighed by the bean wet. In all fairness, there's a time and place to eat a wet bean, but a supermarket is not one of them.
Perfect poached eggs like the ones you had today at M&S Place the bag over a bowl or ramekin and crack an egg into it. Remove the the bag from the bowl and tie up - you can use pretty much anything from a simple knot to a sandwich bag tie, or even a hair clip. Place the bag in the water and cook for 3 and half to 4 and half minutes, depending on how firm you like your egg. 🍳 ✌🏻👨🏻🦰✌🏻 Okay, so I know the emoji has a Fried egg in a bun, No poached egg emojis .
@@everydayimeating3407hey're either very fresh eggs or they buy them ready poached and plunge them into water for a few seconds like the Wetherspoon ones. These wouldn't be cooked in a plastic bag. A very fresh egg will easily poach like this anyway though, as they only start to spread and get messy when the whites loosen up as they get older. Try an egg fresh from a farm and they can be poached perfectly every time, just by dropping the egg in hot water.
Marks like the qualify food they sell. The breakfast comes out on top with two great poached eggs. Many folk have their preference how cook them. I do my poached eggs for years now, in small bowl hot water with few dashes of vinegar. I break the egg into hot water. Lightly prick egg yolk cover bowl cling film lightly and micro wave according to choice, runny 40secs, firmer 50secs. Comes out perfect. As for John Lewis, a nice breakfast but no bacon not a true English breakfast IMO where was black pudding and tomato. My preference to heavy sauced baked beans. I do find your videos enjoyable to watch to compare the many great breakfasts you review.
M&S all the way… the toast was a Tiger Loaf as well…I was actually disappointed with the John Lewis offering. M&S Food is very good in my opinion. ….Smithy
You can get poaching pockets so that your poached eggs look like those in the M&S breakfast. I prefer proper rosti to what looks like a hash brown in the John Lewis breakfast. If there's no bacon it's not a full English.
They more than likely use their own instore cheap bean as that's how they make maximum profit. Another more famous UA-camr who swore he could tell Heinz beans from any other was put to a blindfold challenge , he chose the cheaper bean every time 🤣
£11 for m&s with that quality of food is amazing .. john lewis brecky looks abit to dry and clean for a full english if you know what i mean and no bacon whats that all about there letting themselves down abit there
M & S Cost £ 11 7 different items. john Lewis £ 9.50 plus tea cost £11.85 7 different items. there is more beans here just most does not look filling, since the plate with amount of items on it just does not look much for the cost. for 9.50 for 7 things is £1.36 each which is quiet a lot of money for what you are getting. may be find the place that offers the best value.
M&S hands down but even saying that they were clever to call it a Big Breakfast and not a Full English as there were items missing from the meal....no black pudding or fried tomatoes.
M&S by a mile on cost, presentation and quality, I'd be very disappointed if served the John Lewis breakfast and surely they could find bacon in the store or even go out for some.
John Lewis doesn't really have a food department, so I guess they have to order things for the restaurant separately, rather than being able to pick from the shelves anything they may be short of.
If a cafe said no Bacon today, it would be an instant exit for me and i probably wouldn't return and in this case they most likely sell it in the shop part.
Which breakfast would you choose?
Locations in description 😀
M&S wins in my opinion. Easy win.
MandS for me!
M&S looks miles better, and having no bacon is completely unforgivable
I can't believe they didn't have any bacon on the day I went! It was a bit of a disappointment
One wonders if pork products are being fazed out to appease you know who. Only to be replaced by the dreaded ‘turkey bacon’

Not seen that one yet, (gasps in shock at no Bacon).
@BlowinFree I think meat in general - bastards.
The M&S looked best to me, I love a poached egg on a breakfast, and the streaky bacon was a nice change.
The poached eggs at M&S were great!
I've got a real.hankering for streaky bacon not had it for ages.
Definitely M&S.
Im a chef and can tell that the poached eggs are bought in ready poached. A company called Just Eggs prepares them for the catering trade
Now the question is...how does the just eggs get them so perfect to look like boiled eggs?

M&S looked the best, however the Sourdough bread from John Lewis looked good 👍🏿

there is no way I would have had the breakfast without the bacon. I would have gone back the next day.
I was thinking about that but that was the 3rd John Lewis I went to, to be able to get a breakfast. Not all of them do one
