    I have a dynatrap that I use at the cabin we rent. It works great. One tip I discovered is to NOT put it near the area like a deck but further from the house as it attracts the mosquitoes. Also you run it 24/7 as it works by interrupting the breeding of the mosquitoes so it may take a bit to see a zone where they aren’t. We love ours.

    Thanks! I’ve had my new one running for about two weeks and it’s about 1/4 full (one acre machine & I live on a lake). I tried to empty it today and couldn’t. I’m a widow and not terribly strong. I will need to get someone to hold one section while I turn the basket counter clockwise...Just an FYI! It truly does work, though...

    I love your yard, but I love having a very small front yard, in the city, and a larger back yard. I don't miss all the yard upkeep. I am in deep South. Bug city!!!! I have bloodbath and wall fountain in back yard, and a small in ground pond out front, so, my two birdbaths are stagnant water. My house is 128 years old,in a historic area . I bought this trap,like mine, for my mom and brothers. It keeps our animals safe,too from nasty bug bites!!

    Thanks for the review. I’m in the market for a mosquito trap and i will add this one to my list to traps to review further. That was a large amount of skeeters in the bin, thats about how many are on my back porch right now.

    • @BuffaloBeerReviews
      @BuffaloBeerReviews  5 років тому +2

      Any amount in the bin helps disrupt the reproduction cycle. You catch them now, they don’t reproduce, the next couple weeks are better, couple weeks after that even better.

    Does the house create a barrier to stop it from working in the front yard? We are on acreage also, so I was wondering if it would be possible to put it at the side of the house and it would pull from the front and back yard. Or should I just get 2 separate units?

    Hi. We have a unit just like yours. We have it next to our patio so hoping it would take care of the mosquito bites. I haven't run mine 24 hours and maybe that's the problem. I really can't see a big difference in it taking care of our problem. In the evening and when it gets dark, we are still getting bitten by those little varmints. Do you have any suggestions? Do I need to move it further away from my patio or maybe something else would work. Not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

      I'd say no to zero mosquitoes. But I'd say you'll see a dramatic effect from the dynatraps. It's the first thing I unpack from the shed each spring. Place them a little bit away from where you sit, it will lure the mosquitoes away from you a little ways.

      Hey, I found a info. video dynatrap did with someone and they did list fruit flies in their short list of insects.
      And the smaller (300 sq. ft.) model(s) are actually listed as indoor models and it says that outdoor models can be used inside with no issues, but that the other way around isn't advised - I guess more to due with the finish or materials maybe.

    That is way more than a few moths. It's the reason I haven't bought one of these sorts of traps. Moths are needed as food for many different species of birds, especially when they have chicks. They provide much-needed protein. Beetles are a food source for toads and frogs, too.
    It's discouraging to me that nobody has come up with a solution that doesn't entail killing off every other flying creature unless it costs more than $500. I guess it's a testament to the power of the tiny mosquito to wreak havoc on the planet.
    I've tried the fans but I've never been successful, as they need to be so powerful. But I guess I'll try one more time, if it ever stops raining, as I don't want to get electrocuted using the extension cord!
    I live not too far from your area, by the way.
