I don't like how there aren't more buildings, I know many people have already done their islands and may not have left room for another building, but others have left room pretty empty specifically with the hope that a Roost or full post office will eventually make its way over. I am also tired of villagers sitting next to or in front of benches and chairs, like just sit in it, please I put it there for you to actually use lol.
I've made a bunch of extra accounts and put them in place of the buildings I'm hoping for in future updates. If they ever come, I can delete the extra accounts and place the buildings.
Personally, I just think unlocking content instead of getting it handed to you in updates feels more rewarding. It would also give you more reasons to play the game, if you actually had things to do daily or weekly that unlock more shops or whatever (like slowly filling up the main street in nl)
Exactly, you just have the build up to 3stars and getting K.K. Slider then that's basically it. Then a lot of the nook miles achievements end at a fairly low number for people who daily play or like to grind. They should have a prize other than nook miles (like how the more nmts you use to visit mystery islands unlocks the DAL items). I really wish there was a furniture catalog you could spend your house score pts on-instead the mechanic wants you to decorate your house but you dont get anything from it other than the 3 trophies (which is super easy to get).
yes, I honestly think this is why I don't feel as motivated to play :/ I see everything I can do in the update then decide if I'm interested, rather than play organically like in NL and discover "wow I unlocked a club?" or "Katrina's opening a permanent shop?". At this point I'm waiting for these things to (maybe) be added
I agree. Not to mention, with these updates there's no natural progression to unlocking things. I had a friend who just got the game, and you can get a wetsuit at the very start, making the vaulting pole useless at the beginning, or the island being segmented.
100% this! We are practically left waiting for the developers to 'give' us a new feature on a random basis. That's no fun, I would like to unlock the things by completing tasks! And I've made this list for another comment, but I'll expand on it here: Post Office was replaced by a card stand, Dream Suite was replaced by a bed, Shampoodle was replaced by a mirror, Club LOL is gone, Tortimer’s Island is gone, all of the shop upgrades are gone, Katrina’s fortune telling is gone, the Cafe is gone, the Police Station is gone, the Reset center is gone, perfect fruit are gone, exotic fruit are gone, gyroids are gone, Re-Tail is gone, gems are gone, mini-games are gone, town ordinances are gone, golden tools break... WOW what a list :(
If it was DLC packs that'd be acceptable, like if they do collaborative work with other games/businesses and add extra items/furniture/clothes/diys. They could easily do 4 $20 DLC packs a year which would give three months for proper development of them. The DLC wouldn't affect how you play the game and you'd be able to get the items from other players who buy the DLC but you wouldn't be able to purchase it in your catalog.
@@scottdixon2505 Thing is though, the game is incomplete. It's effectively a 60 dollar early access game. Until the game actually gets all the content it's supposed to have, I really don't think DLC is a good thing.. If it happens though, the community will eat it up, since a lot of people in the community told me that they'd rather have the game now, then have it delayed again so that it could be complete on launch.
@@voidoflight2420 it isn't though. That's a complete lie. The game absolutely is complete, what we're getting is simply more on top of the complete game.
She also keeps losing socks and can never guess the twist of a film she's seen multiple times. I think she might be overworked! No wonder she keeps sleeping at her desk!
same!!! i wish she was more in the game and tom nook as well!!! the resident services building is basically useless after you get your island to 5 stars, which i did pretty fast
I don’t think so, because if you look at datamines, they keep adding and removing and changing stuff constantly, so it show they are still working on the features they add
If the game was complete at release they wouldn’t need the updates to supplement it. Obviously it’s lovely that we do get updates. But a game shouldn’t be reliant on updates to make it good. Can you honestly say that you’d have been happy with your “complete” New Horizons game if they weren’t going to release regular updates? New Leaf never had regular updates and yet it was still a big seller 5 years later. Yet the only reason players keep coming back to NH (and it’s not even been out for a year yet!) is the hope that something new is added in the update. Simply put, this game relies heavily on the updates to keep it relevant and players playing. That to me doesn’t sound like a complete game 🤷♀️
@@cuddleswithcavies9969 except it doesn't. The updates mainly add the seasonal events, which doesn't impact the game at all unless you time travel, which is cheating anyway. It doesn't rely on updates wtf
I think updates every month is better than the game being released complete because the developers can listen to the feedback and the wants and wishes of the audience and tailor future updates based on that information. This isn’t something they could do if they released the completed game
Literally all the feedback they are getting now is that we want the features that were in all other games. So that’s kind of a pointless method, because fans had been talking about their wishes for this game long before it was even released. They could’ve listened to that too.
Taking away commodities we have gotten used to just to drip-feed it to us isn't listening to feedback, it's withholding the game in hopes of making it last longer. I stopped playing after a month and a bit because it got boring - why can't we play at our own pace? Isn't that what the game is about?
I agree ! I know a lot of people don’t like it but I really enjoy having to look forward for the next update. In the meantime I can just enjoy the slow pace of life on my island, do daily little chores and sometimes I even have a brand new idea for design and decor just wandering around. I get that for people who time travel and played through all of the seasons in just two months that may not be fun but hey, that’s your way of playing it so don’t hate on our way !
Exactly! And imagine how precious it would be if they could actually use the tools properly to catch bugs and fish 🥺❤️ instead of just always missing or not getting anything
@@umbraangell6274 Even though at the end of both the Bug-Offs and Fishing Tourneys, villagers always talk about their large haul of bugs/fish and the prizes they'll get from it?
DLC isn't always a bad thing? The Sims has always had DLC and I can't imagine playing The Sims 4 base game because its too bland and boring, if Nintendo do it right it may be a good thing.
@@missawsum4918 I don't think the point is that the DLC for The Sims 4 is bad, it's that the game ended up being super expensive for players. The base game being too bland is the prime example of a bad way to do DLC: the game doesn't feel complete without it and the team behind it is rushed to produce pack upon pack upon pack
@@Artistic_Beans Yeah it is quite expensize, I don't really see Nintendo doing that anyways maybe some DLC but yeah I agree that it shouldn't be as expensize.
@@missawsum4918 The DLC in that game is bad though. The base game is bland and bad without it and the packs are full of problems. They are way too expensive for what they provide. Many of sims DLCs are things that should be in the base game especially the stuff packs.
@@iCandyBunnyMadness I don't know, with how they're doing Labelle with the fashion tests in a similar way to how they did Gracie I definitely think this is a replacement, or successor type situation. Which has been a pattern. Daisy Mae replaced Joan, CJ replaced Chip, Flick replaced Nat. I really don't think she's coming back, and if she does I don't think it'll be permanent.
The museum, Resident Services, Nook's Cranny, and Harv's island (to an extent) can be upgraded. Gracie unofficially exists in New Horizons as a character who can be summoned to the Roost (I've heard she brings Label along), Photopia (at the aforementioned Harv's island), and the Happy Home Paradise DLC (a vacation home can be done for her).
With the New Leaf Halloween one, I think they were talking about how you had to play like Rock-Paper-Scissors or Charades with the villagers for trick-or-treating to see if you get candy or lose some.
In my opinion, the new horizons one is MROE realistic and I like that. I liked how it was really Halloween and instead of playing charades it’s just trick or treat! Also that some villagers would be the ones giving out candy instead. New leafs felt a lot more childish
@@kayladeer9644 In new leaf you had to put thought into the event. You could only scare certain villagers with certain masks or they wouldn't be scared and instead would just trick you. You also had to run away from your villagers if you were out and about and didn't have the candy. There was just so much more going on and so many more furniture items as well.

really wish there were more shops than Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters. They might give us more shops but by this time people will have to renovate their whole island to figure out where to put them.
I miss resetti and Don. I used to reset my old game all the time so they’d yell at me because I thought it was funny and they’re surveillance center was super cool in City folk and NL.
@@maxpowers6738 I know that when you call the rescue service their voices briefly appear but other than that they’re pretty much erased from the game like the pelicans
they don't owe you anything past the game you bought XD if anyone is greedy its you for thinking you are owed more just cause old games had it, like old games didn't have terraforming or placing furniture outside, but your gonna complain about a furniture set that would prob sell for $0.50-$2
I think they should take a little bit of dialogue options from Wild World where your villagers would ask stuff like "hey what's going on between ... and ... ? are they dating or something? I think that it would be cool if there would be rumors and stuff kinda like in real life but far more nicer . I also think the player should be more involved like in Wild World where you could have a dialogue where you would have a scale thingy based on a question from a villager :) I also think every character should have kind of a unique dialogue and stuff because if you have two jocks they are basically going to tell you the same stuff over and over again... Yeah I just played Wild World before but it was wow in terms of how many times I got called ugly x)) They were so sassy in acww I can't x))
I don’t really like the “burnout” conversation. I mean, if you get bored, at least try to do something fun. From the way that everyone complains about it, they just do tasks and that’s it. There’s a lot of things you can do. You can complete the museum or do a fashion show with your friends but if you get bored, that’s on you.
@@sadrackfav them they shouldn’t play the game, just come back when you feel like it. No use whining about how bored you are, it’s a video game lol just find a new game
LOL so you’re saying that when a game lacks features that have been in every other game of the franchise, it’s the player’s fault because they should be planning their own activities (that generally don’t move you forward in the game’s progress) while the game itself offers nothing new anymore? I love people’s enthusiasm to find things to do in this game, but if you have played the other games in the franchise, you will understand that it’s a very sad situation when you’ve basically completed most of the game’s unlockable content after only 2 months (without time travelling)
Ngl, I think the Halloween event is better in new horizons. I was so happy when I saw villagers actually wearing costumes instead of dressing up as a dollar store version of jack
That last sentence made me cackle! Yeah, they looked boring costume wise, but the gameplay for halloween seemed more intricate and involving in my opinion.
I think they should have them, but more so for extra dlc like furniture/clothes that doesn't actually change or affect the gameplay. And you'd still be able to trade items with other players just wouldn't have those items available to buy on your catalog unless you buy the content.
@@Firepaw20011 No. they shouldn’t not be included. People pay $80+ for the game and the money on top of an online membership. Nobody wants to pay for furniture or clothing when they’ve already spent $100+ just setting up the game so it’s able to be played the way it’s meant to be. (Online is important).
I think it sets it up for failure a little bit bc new players are always looking for an update now, and they don’t get the chance to get to know the game as a relaxing, fun, chill exp.
@@_rebecca. I lost interest as half the features from the base old game were used as content updates. if it was new never before seen features my opinion would be very different though
Unfortunately I've been in and out of doctor appointments and surgery this year so I only have like 400 hours at most...gotta love having a failed surgery and a successful surgery a month apart to keep you from doing things But in most communities there's a trend for a month then people just move on to the next big game. Animal Crissing was the most talked about game in the community I was in, but once a new Hyped game came out that game took over . I'm not saving it'll fall 100% irrelevant, just most people stop playing, talking, or posting about unless a group, an amino , etc exists for it exclusively. The updates seem to spark excitement and people get excited I've played the series since age 8 and I turned 26 this , after playing New Horizons I can't really go back to New Leaf tbh , it feels so weird going back to the 3DS games Yes we each have an opinion and our own thoughts
I agree but usually big fans can find something to do or there’s another thing to loom forward to. That’s what animal crossing is about. I played it for 6 years, and had 4 towns, 1 was to dupe and mess around on, 1 was when I first got it and it was a used copy, 1 that I used for maybe 3 years, and another one that I used since the start of 2019 until the release of new horizons
I don't think it makes sense to call the game "incomplete" just because its missing features from previous games, it is a different game that adds new mechanics its not trying to be a clone of previous games, and a lot of the "missing" features are in the game files already they are just trying to make content last for a few years .
so you like to be gatekeeped. You like that you paid 60 instead of 30 dollars for a game that has been loved by me and many others for years because it improved on each game that came out Not cloned its not a REMAKE. You paid 30 more dollars for content thats IN THE GAME but locked. So you can trick yourself to be happy everytime they give you a present that YOU know what it is. Instead of ACTUAL updates with NEW things. Lmfao.
@@tyrues1682 well, most long term fans didn't get what they expected to pay for. In comparison to previous games new horizons simply feels incomplete. It is missing basic features that we are now getting as “big new updates“.,
Ok here's my unpopular opinion: I dont find the villagers boring. I mean yes, they repeat dialogue sometimes and having 2+ of the same personality type would mean 2 villagers have the same dialogue. But even if they have the same personality, I find them to be different than their other personality villagers. They have their own things to say instead of the repeated dialogue, and for that I love the difference we do get from them.
We should have all the staple furniture sets that were available in past animal crossing games without having to pay for it. If nintendo ends up putting these staple furniture sets as additional paid content, I won't be happy. That would be really sly and greedy in my opinion.
I'd take a new leaf remake, but other than that, the others really aged poorly, and have less features compared to the other games. There's no real reason to go back, other than nostalgia..
@@voidoflight2420 the others didnt age poorly, and they are still very fun to play, more than new leaf a lot of times. gamecube and wold world have a lot better dialogue and music than new leaf, and there are also a lot of features that didn't make in from population growing and wild world to new leaf, just like new leaf has more features than new horizons. Compared to the nl, population growing and ww have more charming graphics, while new leafs look kinda eh. not to mention new leaf resetti isnt as good as the past games. population growing and wild world are still very fun
@@voidoflight2420 The other games didn't age poorly though. Gamecube has a lot of stuff that never returned like balls or the sports festival. Also all the games before New Horizons had way better dialogue and villagers in general. An Animal Crossing Gamecube remake would be really cool, but people would get it and see how much they messed up New Horizons.
Has crossing channel forgotten the games you would play with your villagers and not just get tricked if you refused candy or am I getting games confused?
He totally forgot. The villagers would all dress similarly to Jack too. Halloween was more challenging in New Leaf. You also had to guess what masks your villagers inside were afraid of so they’d give you lollipops.
Personally I like the seasonal updates. They get me excited to start playing again just as I start to run out of new content, and it removes the temptation to time travel like half a year.
One thing I hate about the villager dialogue is that they keep saying my face looks "different" just because I have an unusual eye or skin color. Like no. I'm not trying some new look. I've literally had this same look since the beginning of October! Just shut up already! And some of the villagers only came in or after October so it doesn't even make sense for them to acknowledge there's something "different" about my face. But one thing I like is the custom catchphrases (though it can be annoying to think of a catchphrase) and I like to think of the different catchphrases as teams competing to see which catchphrase can get the most villagers saying it.
Wait it's literally just because I'm green? I thought maybe one of the Halloween tricks changed my actual face somehow. And it's interesting to look at the catchphrases that way, I'm actually the exact opposite because I like to personalize them. If I catch a villager using someone else's catchphrase I snitch to Isabelle IMMEDIATELY
My favorite villager interaction so far was with Phoebe. She was sitting under a tree and when I shook that tree wasps fell out. A dialogue box popped up and said something along the lines of "Oh dear! We should split up and run so they can't catch us! Ready...GO!" And just as I pressed A and prepared to run she hauled butt out of there and I got stung. xD
I hated bunny day, but looking back it wasn’t that bad. The event wasn’t bad the timing was. It came out in a time when people were still gathering materials and catching fish. If it came out now when people aren’t collecting resources then it would age been great!
Hello! I am an avid player....have played each version. Yes..wish so e items were in this version as in New Leaf. I find this game a break from dealing with ugliness of the world. New Horizons is a island.....fun time!! Keep up good work!!
Whell in New leaf you got to spend the time waiting buying candy AND finding out what you villagers are afraid of, and I personally miss that, I think it was fun finding out their fears
People can say Raymond isn't cute and be angry about him, I don't care. I find him adorable, and he's a cat. Also he thinks it's thanks to destiny that we are friends, so there's that.
I think I get what that person met. The way to get lollipops in new leaf was that if you wore the costume of the monster they were afraid of (werewolf, skeleton, etc) they would give you the lollipop for the good scare. That Is what they miss and even I missed that I do like that the characters dressed up but that was all we got which was pretty lackluster in my opinion. I kn this IA late and all but I only just started watching your vids when on a huge Anima crossing kick. I also watch mayor mori as well and that's how I found you if I recall.
Where New Horizons does dialogue better than New Leaf: the Museum, big time. I've played New Leaf and the villagers tend to only have one line for each of the four wings of the museum there. Meanwhile in New Horizons they'll have a few more lines to talk about the museum wings in general and they'll have something to say for every individual thing in the museum.
Idk if this an unpopular opinion but I like having random villagers move to my island. I never use Amiibo or go on mystery island tours searching for favourites. Having an island full of dreamies is so boring to me. To clarify, I think it's good that the option is there if people want to choose all of their villagers but it is not for me.
I was SOOOOOOOO disappointed with the halloween furniture..... I missed bunnyday but when seeing how much furniture there was I got a bit excited that halloween would have as much! And then we got basically jack all... what we got was okay... but seeing what pocket camp got and the fact we only had pumpkin stuff i was kinda sad.... I wasnt expecting insane amounts just more halloween stuff as apposed to pumpkin stuff. Id happily pay for furniture sets especially if it was hard-core halloween or goth stuff. But its a whole new world for animal crossing and they'll learn from peoples reactions to stuff like they learned from bunnyday I guess.
It was nice to be able to actually customize the event furniture. People probably would have like the bunny event furniture more if you could customize it.
You want to pay for furniture when you paid 60 dollars for this game? You know what will happen right? They will make garbage furniture and all the nice furniture will be locked within a pay wall. Lmfao thats why Free to play pocket camp has furniture you can buy because its a f2p game.
I think that Orville gets a lot of undeserved hate, he's just doin' his job. My impression is that Orville's like a nice old guy who wanted some adventure, but couldn't fully fly a plane and stuff.
First statement: I like the New Horizons soundtrack, but I like the older soundtracks more just because I seem to groove to them more than the New Horizons soundtracks. Second statement: I play New Horizons not as consistantly as I used to but I play without time travel. The updates always make it worth it not to time travel and it makes you tuned in for what might be two whole years. Third statement: Wait the villagers were just standing there all the time? What the heck!
NGL the music that plays while you participate in the bug-off or the fishing tourney (the one they used for the summer update trailer) is my freaking jam!
I love that someone else loves the soundtrack haha, I’m also a big fan! I’ve tried to use it to study but I end up just wanting to play animal crossing instead
I wish I could move the camera around a bit more. I'd like 360 movement but I don't think they'll ever do that. A bit of left and right movement would be really nice. I also wish I could move while looking at the sky, or that I could toggle some camera options to allow me to do that.
For the halloween one it was lackluster kinda boring😥. In new leaf you have to collect special masks to scare them and they chase you and play a trick on you whether you have candy or not In new horizons they can only trick you when you have candy and say no
I think in a normal year things would of been different. Many of us were locked down. I picked up the game and the Monday we were locked down. While Easter was different, I found Halloween hard as we don’t celebrate it, every day I got a diy I didn’t want and I would say I don’t want it, it would be offered the next day.
I think people forget that because this game came out right as lockdowns started in many places you probably had much more time to play early on than you normally would have had and therefore became burnt out on the game faster
my average or popular opinion is that i wish the villagers interacted with stuff like in pocket camp. Villagers would go into tubs and such and i feel like it would be so much nicer in new horizons, especially since you can place rides and hot tubs outside
A lot of people forget that During the dodos airlines waiting screen the other player is watching your island, The screen goes by at the same time, the time is for the person that is coming not for the connection, I believe
Really? It’s the main reason I don’t play. I occasionally look at the directs and think “mhhh, there’s still nothing interested added.” That and Along with the god awful crafting system.

@@cuddleswithcavies9969 I get not being able to build in bulk, the seasonal DYI's and tools breaking, the ordering items from nooks shopping and it taking a day to arrive makes sense as you're essentially ordering something online, the grinding materials is just grinding some people like it while others might find it tedious, I think it would make sense if you didn't have to bring materials out of your storage to craft in your house but other its not that hard to carry resources to craft
As someone who started the day after launch, Bunny day was the bane of my existence. I just wanted to fish for actual fish! Also, I have Raymond on my island and I just really like him; I love the smug villagers and I love cats so having a smug cat roaming around just makes me happy
new leaf highkey outsold, idk if u played newleaf but i definitely think after playing both, new leafs music was so much more atmospheric in comparison to new horizons, it also sounds worse to most ppl who compare the tracks directly. but tbh i also dislike it and rlly struggle to play for too long bc the music makes me feel bored even quicker
Idk if its unpopular or not, but I wish there were better ways to get seasonal diys rather than just balloons. I know holiday ones you can get through villagers as well, but regular season ones like the mush ones I have to essentially spend hours grinding for at the beach for balloons and it really gets tiring if I dont exactly have any chores to do in the island while I wait.. (and if i do spot a balloon gotta pray i get a diy and not some junk)
I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t like crafting. It makes things annoyingly tedious. I’d just prefer more shops or some other additions. It was one of the main reasons I burnt out. It feels like an annoyingly large addition that removed tons of features I enjoyed. I wish I liked it.
I agree that the villagers seem more colorful in what they do outside. So they _look_ good, but interacting with them is beyond boring. Not only is their dialogue repetitive and stale, but you can't even run tasks for them or anything. I also just think that if we had more buildings (Roost, Post Office, Police Station) and the buildings we had were updatable and customizable, it would be a little less boring. We haven't gotten an update for Nooks since the beginning of the game, so it really feels like there's zero progression. Finding furniture isn't as fun anymore because you basically only ever get the same color variant in your town, forcing you to trade and buy it from other people (something I don't like doing). Getting new DIYs it too rare.
I think with the whole Raymond thing, I like him as well but I've grown exhausted of him because I see him every, all over twitter, tumblr, art sits, discord, etc. He does have a good design which is why he's popular. But his immense popularity is what put people off. So technically it's disliking him because he's popular, but there's more context to it than just "popular thing bad".
Finally someone else who loves the New Horizons soundtrack! Everyone seems to be complaining about it, but personally I don't get why. I know this kind of thing is subjective but I guess I was just surprised at how many people complained about it. The 8am and 2pm themes are the best! Wild World still has my favourite soundtrack though (and City Folk, since most of the soundtrack is the same).
The Halloween events in New Leaf and New Horizons aren't exactly the same. They're pretty similar, but there's a lot of differences. For one thing, in New Leaf you have to figure out which villagers are scared of which monster - giving candy to a villager has them tell you a clue about another villager's fear, go into their house, put the right mask on, and if that was the right one, then you get that sought-after lollipop. In New Horizons, it's just... Give a candy to a villager and then they give you an item or occasionally a lollipop. The villagers in both games chase you when they see you, but in New Leaf, you're forced to talk to them if they catch you, while you are free to ignore them in New Horizons if you want. In New Leaf you're also at risk of losing any items in your inventory or even ones you're wearing if you get tricked, which ups the scare factor and adds a little edge. Getting tricked in New Leaf could get you a whole other set of exclusive items like the Jack in the box, the patched clothes, a variety of different pumpkin heads and the old wall and floor. Getting tricked in New Horizons is safer, but also pretty adorable - they just mess woth your makeup which adds some extra flair to your Halloween costume. So yeah, they're pretty different. The premise is the same, but the small details make all the difference.
bunny day wasnt that bad firstly. secondly its going to be even LESS 'that bad' next year because at that point people arent likely going to be struggling for resources or anything so if you dont wanna participate you dont gotta
Included in the Halloween event in New Leaf was Jack going into your villagers houses and making himself look like them. You'd have to pick which was the real one, and in return for picking the right one would be a picture of the villager. That's what I miss in the NH Halloween event
I am not a big fan of Raymond. I simply don’t like his facial design. He seems a little bored and unhappy looking. I steer more towards the fun and cute villagers!😄
I actually really like Tom Nook. I don’t think he’s that mean. Personally, I see him as trying to help you. In the old games he gets you a job. We do also find out what’s up with him and Redd and I think it’s really interesting that he’s doing this kinda to protect you from being bad off like he was. Also he took in Timmy and Tommy
I find my fun in playing the game for about half an hour every day. I have a 5 star island, so I just go around catching bugs and fish, digging fossils, and talking to my residents.
I believe the big difference in New Leaf is that there was a few things you could do to prepare for the holidays, like Halloween. In the month or so leading up to Halloween you could have conversations with you villagers to find out what they were scared of and then buy those masks/outfits so when the day came you could spook them and they give you candy. So although the mechanics were pretty much the same, the lead up to it was half the fun in my opinion.
Maybe a little late, but there goes my unpopular opinion: I don't really want an upgrade for Timmy and Tommy's shop. We expect more upgrades because it was a staple in previous games, but we already have a huge variety of items on it and the quantity of furniture available becomes irrelevant over time, so it doesn't really have much sense to me anymore. It's a shame because we lack Gracie and Leif's corners, but I would prefer to have their own separated shops and I find the actual style of the shop a little more charming than the departament store look they had at the latest update in previous games.
Unpopular opinion: I would have preferred a wide variety of highly customizable shops with functionality that NPCs run (similar to how you could decorate buildings in AC HHD) than the non-functional areas that players have been designing for their island since they don't exist in-game (that villagers don't really interact with)
People are too dramatic when it comes to bunny day, I thought it was ok. Ps Helloween in nh doesn't have scaring villagers with masks and everyone dressed like Jack and if they catch you, the game forces you to talk to them(in nl)!
honestly i wouldn’t mind paid dlc! but for things that wouldnt necessarily ruin gameplay experience for everyone else. i’d love a dlc that offered more custom furniture, more custom slots or even more inventory to your home! something to similar to how sims dlc works it would be nice to just unlock crazy themed furnitures that play into the most popular themes (city, cottagecore, jungle)!
The only trick Villagers play on you is changing your skin. Then giving you a mirror to fix it. Then, they go easy on you if you dont have candy! In past games they would punish you!
I haven’t been super interested in playing A.C. In the last couple of months..I just log in check for DIY, do my chores and log off. Something I would really love to see in New Horizon is to have villagers come to your house. I just put Pocket Camp back on my phone because I miss just seeing the villagers hanging around and waiting to have a talk with you. Plus it’s never the same conversation. Also I would love to see villagers in N.H interact with more of the area you spent hours building. I feel like you go through so much just to make a nice area only to NEVER see a villager in the area...It’s just there untouched. They need to do more with that..It will make you feel that all your hard work is not for nothing.
I think what they mean by halloween being better in new leaf is that u could collect all the costumes they sold at able sisters and find out what villager was scared of what, it was a more interesting way to build up to halloween when trying to collect all the masks and things. and also jack gave you the creepy furniture rather than just the spooky
I LOVE the updates. Especially being a Sims player, where you have to PAY LOTS OF MONEY for evey new expansion to the game. So the free updates its always getting is SUPER amazing for me personally.
Honestly though, these free updates are supposed to be apart of the game anyway. They are part of what we paid £40 for the game. It seems that a lot of people who have been introduced to animal crossing with new horizons think that it's really great of nintendo to give these features in the updates, when players of past ac games expect these features in the new game, as part of what they paid for.
I hate how they did/are doing Halloween and the fall items! You want that sweet pumpkin carriage from Jack? You ONLY get it on Halloween, enjoy it for a few hours then it can just take up storage space for a year! The leaf crafting items? You start getting the leaves 2 weeks before December? They don't give you any time to enjoy the season! Sure the mushroom stuff goes all month but I play a lot and have still managed to only get 2 of the recipes. It all feels so rushed and like all its doing is setting up decorations for next year. It makes me think winter will be disappointing too
Bunny day was annoying but it wasnt that bad, the thing that just made it so unbearable was that literally everyone was playing the game the whole day bc of lockdown and everyone still was really going strong with the release hype and the first event was a little disappointing bc it wasnt smthg amazing/big. Also a lot of people have NH for their First animal crossing and arent used to the more slow gameplay
I have only played 180 hours since March. I do not like the game :/ but I have loved and continue to play every previous version since I was 6 years old and fixated on the GC version. I think it's a cumulation of things in ACNH that I don't like. ex: bland music, crafting at a freaking treestump, less npcs and lovable characters, bad dialogue,. I don't like a lot of the little features ex: tailor shop purchasing, dodo airlines taking forever, Isabelle's literal *uselessness*, HORRIBLE furniture sets!? etc)
I agree about the updates keeping people coming back, BUT...it took too long to get something really new (halloween, fall) and I got burnt out about the time october started. I was a daily player, but now find myself playing a few times a month.
I love the updates! It’s like getting presents! Paid updates wouldn’t bother me either, I’m all for buying dlcs. Generally my most unpopular opinion is that time travel is completely okay. I can’t really think of any others.
About the updates, it is exciting to wait for them to be allowed to play. Some hate that, I don’t since I don’t time travel. Also, Raymond is just another character, not an extraordinary, just a cat. Halloween event was kind of short and in 10 minutes in I was just tired of all the robes and Jack’s masks.
I like New Horizons new soundtrack. It's a lot more upbeat that New Leaf's. New Leaf's soundtrack gets really sad sounding in the middle of the night. New Horizons soundtrack manages to stay cheery even when it's dark. Well, other than 7pm's music, but it's not as sad or ominous as the New Leaf's soundtrack at 12:00 and 1:00 am.
it would be cool if at least some villagers talked about something that has to do with their animal type for example, rosie can talk about how she used to play with yarn when she was little or fauna could say how she likes nature
Personally I've never been bored by NH in the slightest. I love my island so much, I just could spent hours just walking around doing nothing. But there is quite a lot to do for me every day. And yeah, I love that my villagers are running around or sing, or doing sports or eating sweets/sandwiches, or reading. I don't mind the repeating dialogs at all. In facts I alwayshear new phrases here and there. I just love this game.^^ Of course it's not perfect, but for me it's not far away from it and I'm curious what the updates will add every time.
Agreed
I agree
This is why I haven't been motivated to terraform.
I've made a bunch of extra accounts and put them in place of the buildings I'm hoping for in future updates. If they ever come, I can delete the extra accounts and place the buildings.
My villagers sit on my seats I put out. Right before I need to move them! 😂
Paid updates would kill the game for me. With the way the world is rn and not many people have the spare cash. I couldn't afford it
If the updates were DLC that wouldn't affect the game then all you'd have to worry about is feeling jealous that you dont have it. Lol.
@@Firepaw20011 But if they put furniture sets that we got for free in the previous ac games as paid dlc, that would be taking the micky.

I think they only say free to clarify and so people didn’t have to ask.
@@voidoflight2420 i completely disagree. The pole is a commodity: it's way faster than swimming, which makes it worth it
WOW what a list :(
They shouldn’t do paid updates. We have already paid for the game why should we have to pay for updates.
Think of it more as an expansion. Look at Sims
@@scottdixon2505 Thing is though, the game is incomplete. It's effectively a 60 dollar early access game. Until the game actually gets all the content it's supposed to have, I really don't think DLC is a good thing.. I think something along the lines of the sanrio amiibo collab would be totally acceptable, but dlc would take away the vibe of animal crossing
@@voidoflight2420 it isn't though. That's a complete lie. The game absolutely is complete, what we're getting is simply more on top of the complete game.

@@maduch1314 wtf? Just look at Pokemon Sword and shield and Splatoon. There is your example of drip feed content.

I think updates every month is better than the game being released complete because the developers can listen to the feedback and the wants and wishes of the audience and tailor future updates based on that information. This isn’t something they could do if they released the completed game
wtf? Lmfao you like Pokemon sword and shield. Because they cut that game in half and drip feed the players.
@@themoo_spl Exactly, having to wait months for the next thing to be added to the game isn’t exactly a fun experience.

I liked the Halloween feature in New Leaf where you had to find out what scared them before Halloween and buy the right costumes
Ironically, a few of the wolf villagers were scared of masks that looked like wolves!

I dont find the villagers boring. I mean yes, they repeat dialogue sometimes and having 2+ of the same personality type would mean 2 villagers have the same dialogue.
Also running away from them was actually terrifying because they'd force you into a conversation if they caught you.
The 5am music is great
Where New Horizons does dialogue better than New Leaf: the Museum, big time.
@ANEESA DAVIS Exactly, and this way I end up falling in love with villagers I never liked (like Pietro ❤️ 🤡)
I would prefer that if the villagers in New Horizons weren't so bad and repetitive.
Haha “Jack all” nice pun
It was nice to be able to actually customize the event furniture. People probably would have like the bunny event furniture more if you could customize it.
We got the dressers and stuff traded for pumpkin stacks. Dissapointed. Harvest might be even worse than it already is.
I don't think we should have to pay for furniture that came with the past animal crossing games. That's insane to me.
I actually like Isabelle's morning announcements, I find them kinda wholesome for some reason.
I also really like the acnh soundtrack bc they’re super chill.
In new leaf you have to collect special masks to scare them and they chase you and play a trick on you whether you have candy or not In new horizons they can only trick you when you have candy and say no
You could still scare villager by wearing jack costume
I think in a normal year things would of been different. Many of us were locked down. I picked up the game and the Monday we were locked down.
While Easter was different, I found Halloween hard as we don’t celebrate it, every day I got a diy I didn’t want and I would say I don’t want it, it would be offered the next day.
I doubt it was due to lockdown. I took my time, and finished everything in the game in about a month or two. It's.. not really that much content.
I think people forget that because this game came out right as lockdowns started in many places you probably had much more time to play early on than you normally would have had and therefore became burnt out on the game faster
YES finally someone who LIKES the soundtrack. 11am and 8am are my favorites
my average or popular opinion is that i wish the villagers interacted with stuff like in pocket camp.
I can see it now “Animal Crossing the new pay to play game.”
For real! That's one of the main reasons why I stopped playing the Sims 4. I cannot keep up with all the paid updates. 👎🏻
@@digitaldiana
I absolutely agree with you on that. Please AC do not go that route!
I think if New Horizons came out with more features from the beginning, it would have lost popularity faster, but it’s a good point tho
You guys are making pretty good points and even though I made that opinions I still agree
I think for the first one, The monthly updates are what keep people coming back. I love waiting for a new update 😁
I personally disagree. Since so many of these features aren’t new, I don’t want to come back. I don’t want to return the game anymore.
Really? It’s the main reason I don’t play. I occasionally look at the directs and think “mhhh, there’s still nothing interested added.” That and Along with the god awful crafting system.
@@cuddleswithcavies9969 What’s awful about the crafting system?
@@larsspargur97 No being able to bulk craft, search specific items, tools constantly breaking, having to carrying around tons of resources and a crafting table in case you need / want to craft something, having to grind to collect those resources when you run out, not being able to craft certain items without ordering a different item from nooks and waiting for it to arrive first, villagers handing out the same DIY recipes over and over again, having to grind to get the seasonal recipes.... do I need to go on?
I love all the tracks for different reasons. I don't get why people hate the NH track.
new leaf highkey outsold, idk if u played newleaf but i definitely think after playing both, new leafs music was so much more atmospheric in comparison to new horizons, it also sounds worse to most ppl who compare the tracks directly. but tbh i also dislike it and rlly struggle to play for too long bc the music makes me feel bored even quicker
@@Matthew-sl8dx I do listen to the NL soundtrack more than the NH one and I like the holiday music more from CF.
The thing with crafting is that you can actually make bells with it by picking up resources and sell your crafted items
NL halloween event is way more intricate and engaging than the NH Halloween event because of these differences.
@@quriOusmOOn agreed
@@quriOusmOOn Yeah the holidays in new horizons are just worse versions of the New Leaf version.
My most unpopular opinion is that I absolutely love sparro, the jock bird. He is one of the least known villagers in the entire game.
Me toooo! He is so funny and cute.
bunny day wasnt that bad firstly. secondly its going to be even LESS 'that bad' next year because at that point people arent likely going to be struggling for resources or anything so if you dont wanna participate you dont gotta
The rainy day or night music was amazing.
Included in the Halloween event in New Leaf was Jack going into your villagers houses and making himself look like them. You'd have to pick which was the real one, and in return for picking the right one would be a picture of the villager. That's what I miss in the NH Halloween event
Idk if this is unpopular or popular but cherry blossom and maple leaf season is too short they should last 20 days instead of 10
Cherry blossom season the past game was 5-7days in NH it's greater 😂
i like raymond because i share the same eye colours as him
I am not a big fan of Raymond. I simply don’t like his facial design. He seems a little bored and unhappy looking. I steer more towards the fun and cute villagers!😄
He probably looks bored and unhappy because he works in an office
Omg my favorite hour is 5 pm too
I actually really like Tom Nook.
Maybe a little late, but there goes my unpopular opinion:
I don't really want an upgrade for Timmy and Tommy's shop.
That shit was so annoying honestly and a bit too harsh for new players as well.
I think that Jeremiah is sooooo very underrated
Everyone in November: Where's Brewste-
Nintendo: Here
Everyone: **shocked reaction**
Edit: NVM
I was a daily player, but now find myself playing a few times a month.
i loved bunny day, kept me moving
Honestly I love Raymond like why do people hate him just cause he’s popular? That’s quite unfair
Then your opinion is overrated. He doesn't deserve the hype. He's just a basic cat.
@@lefaboo3941 Well that’s YOUR opinion and some people have their opinions but just because it’s a popular opinion doesn’t make it bad. ;-;
@@lefaboo3941 and also maybe he doesn’t deserve to be super hyped up, but I personally like his character so.
Halloween event was kind of short and in 10 minutes in I was just tired of all the robes and Jack’s masks.
unpopular opinion - barold is amazing
YES
I just love this game.^^
Of course it's not perfect, but for me it's not far away from it and I'm curious what the updates will add every time.
