Great job! I’m so lame, I’ve lived in California all of my life and I haven’t even visited Yosemite yet. I’ll visit soon but I’m too old to go on that hike lol. Great footage.!
Thanks for the video. I just did the math and realized that I did that hike Memorial Day weekend 50 years ago. Great memories. Tough hike but well worth the effort. No way my old body could do it again but dammit I did it then.
Amazing! Thanks for this video ! I’m sure you won’t have done this less than 5 hours if it wasn’t for the snow and filming . So rewarding being on top of the mountain 🏔️! 🫶🫶
Yes! I have hiked this trail years ago, and made it to the top with a friend! It was the hardest hike I have ever done. Slippery rocks, sheer drop next to the falls, but wow, what a view, and what a memory! Thanks for bringing it all back.
Lovely me and my friends just done half dome trails and cable climb July last years during summer and hard and so beautiful inside. Yosemite is my favorite park in California ❤
Thank you for giving us a beautiful view of the trail to Yosemite falls I am 63 years old and know that I will never make it there I love Yosemite national park we try to go every few years, thanks again,.
Great video ! You took a lot of efforts in the video shooting. This is the only video I found on youtube that clearly shows the last section of the trail, especially the switchbacks through the rainforest. We hiked the trail this weekend and turned back at that point.
Even though it has been 58 years since I did that hike, I still vividly remember it. In all my many adventures since, I still remember how epic this was, and thanks for bringing it all back. Truly a magnificent waterfall in a breathtaking area.
I'm so glad to see your video. My friends and I are going to Yosemite this weekend and I liked how you shared about the weather conditions and things to look out for on the trail. We have microspikes just in case. Your video helped inform us. We feel ready for the trip!! Thank you for every detail you included including how long the hike takes, the sketchy parts, and the temperature/weather and date at the beginning. With the changing landscape, all of these details are helpful!
I did that hike years ago, in dry weather and I've never seen water like that over the trail! One thing I think that is important when doing this hike is to remember to wear sunscreen and also wear sunglasses. The reflection off the snow can really bother your eyes, especially at the end of the day. Thanks for taking us along!
Great hike! Way more accessible this June. Interesting to see the conditions just a few weeks earlier. Have you been to the ‚oh my gosh‘ point? We missed it. Would love to see it featured in one of you future videos. Keep on hiking! ✌🏻
The one time I wanted to do the Yosemite Falls trail it was closed because of rock slides. I've done the Mist and Glacier Point trails but maybe someday.
Early spring is the best time for the Upper Falls. Accross the bridge and further up the trail is worth the extra effort. Please Panorama. Great stuff. TY
Did this hike on Friday 7/14/23. It’s a brutal hike that’s for sure. But the view when you get to the top is amazing but the way down was brutal on its own. Never will forget this hike
I have a trip planned to Yosemite next week and have been nervous about trail conditions with all the flooding. Seeing your videos has made me much more excited about hiking opportunities with all this snow melt!!
Thanks for this video! I did this hike in 2000 (when I was alot younger) and wanted to try it again this fall..you gave me the burst of enthusiasm to see those views again!
I also did this trail a few times in my 50s. and then on to the trail past half dome and then the trail to 120. I long for hiking as challenging as this again
Hiked the same trail to Yosemite Point back in October - slightly different falls! Just a trickle of water and young folks swimming in the pools just above the falls! Thanks for taking me there again in spectacular conditions!
I am so glad you filmed this. I have been wanting to go to Yosemite, but didn’t realize it was open again. I’ve not done that hike, but would love to. I’m glad you have done it before so to be able to maneuver the trail properly. Well, mostly. You do a great job with the videography. I enjoyed the camera being facing Half Dome during your passing by. Yosemite is nothing less than spectacular at all times. I especially enjoyed the view from the top. Wow! Amazing and spectacular. Thank you so much for this! I won’t be able to go this year because my cat now has a medical condition that will prohibit me from being gone. 😔 So this was really a blessing. Thanks Rob. You gave me a dream come true vicariously. Stay safe out there. Great job. Alicia
Last time I was up there, 10 or so years ago, I was able to swim and lounge in the stream before the falls drop over the edge. That was later in the summer when it was drier.
Awesome 👏 waterfall! We did this hike last year in May and the flow was good, but nothing like this. I believe this is the tallest waterfall in North America. One of the great places in the USA 🇺🇸
I appreciate your video. What a professional video. I felt I was walking along with you. When you reach the top of the falls, it brought tears. What an amazing sight. I will never, at my age, be able to hike to see this. You made it possibly for me to experience this magnificent part of Yosemite. Thank you
I did that hike back in 1976 when I was in my 20's and in great shape...and it kicked my butt!!...hardest hike I ever did....better do some serious workouts on stairclimber before attempting it. Not sure if the trail has changed after rockslides a few years back..maybe easier...maybe not..
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve wondered what the conditions are like up there and I’m looking forward to getting up there again. IMO it’s a pretty grueling hike in hot summer weather.
I did that loop in the summer of 1974- the entire thing back down to my car, in one day. I notice those same cheap-ass flimsy railings are still there. There used to be all kinds of signs telling people not to go under or over the railing because you will slip (from the spray) and go over the falls.
Fifteen years ago I developed an auto immune disease that made me gain a lot of weight and left me perpetually exhausted. Thankfully I’m working with a new doctor who is helping me to get my energy and strength back, but I doubt I would ever be able to do that hike. Sad because I never got to do it when I was at the height of my health. I am living vicariously through you and your hike. Thank you, thank you!❤
In August of 1972 I hiked down the Yosemite Falls Trail from Tioga Road. As we looked from the trail over the mouth of the falls, there were people swimming right to the lip of the falls. The water was so low the Falls was barely a trickle. Quite the contrast from this week.
Did this 5/15/23, just a week later, much less snow and many more hikers. 76 yrs old in and in reasonable shape but it still was quite an effort for me. The toughest part was the decent with VERY tired thighs. Advice to my contemporaries, the first portion(40%?) of the hike-climb to Columbia Rock will tell you if you can get to the top, listen. The view of the base of upper falls is just a little farther up and is spectacular. A great alternate final destination.
Great video! I've been camping in Yosemite with my parents since I was a young kid (I'm now a septuagenarian😂), but I've never hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls. I think starting from the valley might be too steep for me now, but I'd like to try backpacking from Yosemite Creek trailhead.
Beautiful views 💟
Cannot wait to visit!
Superb great job
Thanks for sharing ❤
Wow beautiful view with the waterfall 😳☺👍🙏
Great job! I’m so lame, I’ve lived in California all of my life and I haven’t even visited Yosemite yet. I’ll visit soon but I’m too old to go on that hike lol. Great footage.!

hey! you completed it be proud!

Yosemite is my favorite National Park, great hiking video with views of the valley.
Yes! I have hiked this trail years ago, and made it to the top with a friend! It was the hardest hike I have ever done. Slippery rocks, sheer drop next to the falls, but wow, what a view, and what a memory! Thanks for bringing it all back.
Thank you for taking me on a hike I was not capable of doing myself. Love Yosemite
thanks for watching! :)
Dream!
Steepest hike of my life!! Awesome video!
It's insane isn't it, but worth it at the top! Thanks for watching and happy trails!
Lovely me and my friends just done half dome trails and cable climb July last years during summer and hard and so beautiful inside. Yosemite is my favorite park in California ❤
me too!
Thank you for giving us a beautiful view of the trail to Yosemite falls I am 63 years old and know that I will never make it there I love Yosemite national park we try to go every few years, thanks again,.
I really hope you get to visit again soon, thank you for watching :)
Great video thank you so much for the beautiful scenery shots
Glad you enjoyed it

OH WOW! You really made my day with this video...I'm obsessed with the falls this year. THANK YOU THANK YOU for making this amazing video.
You are so welcome!
Awesome video!! Water everywhere!
You got that right!
Oh it looks so beautiful! Definitely on my bucket list...☺
It really is!
Even though it has been 58 years since I did that hike, I still vividly remember it. In all my many adventures since, I still remember how epic this was, and thanks for bringing it all back. Truly a magnificent waterfall in a breathtaking area.
Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful scenery, very peaceful forest and great trails. New sub, thanks for taking us there. Hope to visit Yosemite some time! 😍🥰👍
Thank you so much for watching :) Hope you get there soon!
Wow, housebound and sick for years, thank you for this.
wishing you good health. thanks for watching!

Very good! The last time I went to the top was Easter of 1967. Thanks for showing your adventures for all to see. 🤙🏻👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the trail report going there in 3 days and I can't wait.
hope you had a good trip!

Sketchy trail is a huge understatement. Congratulations.
Great hike! Way more accessible this June. Interesting to see the conditions just a few weeks earlier.

Keep on hiking!

Awesome video, currently here in housekeeping camp and very xcited to try that hike..
Hope you had a great trip!

Thanks for the tips!
This was amazing! Thank you so much for your post! Thank you for hiking and climbing and the spectacular views.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Mist Trail going up to Half Dome is also a very good hike with 2 waterfalls, and stream access.
I agree!
Did this hike on Friday 7/14/23. It’s a brutal hike that’s for sure. But the view when you get to the top is amazing but the way down was brutal on its own. Never will forget this hike
Thanks for taking the time to video your hike. Been there, but not in these conditions. Good job!
This is a great hike and the waterfalls are amazing. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🙂🙂
Thanks for watching :)
Great video Rob! That was sketchy. Keep up your great content.
thank you so much! :)
absolutely breathtaking. Life goal to get up there, and away from the masses in the valley.
I have a trip planned to Yosemite next week and have been nervous about trail conditions with all the flooding. Seeing your videos has made me much more excited about hiking opportunities with all this snow melt!!

Go for it! It's such a stunning hike!
This was an awesome hiking video. Inspiring. I haven’t been to yosemite mist trail since 1995 .
Did this hike a couple years ago. Loved it! Thanks for this awesome reminder to, GO HIKING!
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and happy trails :)
wow what a beautiful view, I would love to try to hike there. I wondered if you have a company doing this journey.
I also did this trail a few times in my 50s. and then on to the trail past half dome and then the trail to 120. I long for hiking as challenging as this again
It sure is a one of a kind hike :)
Hiked the same trail to Yosemite Point back in October - slightly different falls! Just a trickle of water and young folks swimming in the pools just above the falls! Thanks for taking me there again in spectacular conditions!
It's crazy how quickly it changes! Thanks for watching and happy trails!

one of my favorite trails. I’m really missing the valley right meow.
its so beautiful!
💯💯👍🏻👍👍🏻👍👍🏻👍👍🏻
Rob, great video. Yosemite is an amazing place and you captured it perfectly. Be careful out there.
Thanks for watching :)
Stunning ~ Her water broke! ✨✨💦
I know!! It was so amazing to see!
great vid its gushing out there. the view at 12 minutes is one of the best of the route imo
thanks for watching!
Awesome 👏 waterfall! We did this hike last year in May and the flow was good, but nothing like this. I believe this is the tallest waterfall in North America. One of the great places in the USA 🇺🇸
Your right!
Very cool video👍
Thank you 👍
Great Video
Thanks for the visit
Great video, that was a historic hike. I have done it before but didn't have to cross the snow fields.
Last time I did it was clear, but that snowpack was heavy! I think its thawed a little since this video :)
Great video!
thank you!
I appreciate your video.

Have fun!
Bravo! I wanted to try that hike last year, but chickened out. There is no way I would have tried this year.
You can do it :)
I did that loop in the summer of 1974- the entire thing back down to my car, in one day. I notice those same cheap-ass flimsy railings are still there. Beautiful video. Inspiring for me. That's a bucket list hike I have for myself. How were the new Moabs on a dense hike like that?
You know what, they are holding up really well! Im so pleased with them. Thanks for watching :)
What a beautiful place! Thanks for the video. Have you done the half dome hike? Enjoyed your video
Yes I have, but not good a video yet. Maybe that's a plan for this summer :)
Brilliant video as always Rob. Hoping to do this walk this week and this a great help on what to expect! Can’t wait!!
Hope you had a good trip!

Yeah, I've swam in the stream before the falls once. It dries out later in the summer.
Great video! I really enjoyed it

Great review, Happy Trails :)
Watching you hike down that little tiny trail with the metal railing, I had a lot of puckering…😂😂
Haha its sketchy af!
followed you brother
thank you!!
Great hike! Beautiful scenery. Can hardly hear you.
Thanks for your feedback!
Anyone know where to park at if you dont have camping reservations? Preferably nearby.
I think Camp 4 has a lotto the day before, but its hard to get, reservations definite needed for other sites - or the backcountry....
This is why I love and hate the internet at the same time.
Why go past those points?? DH
Good job man, I thought you’d be looking way more exhausted after such a strenuous hike! All you ate was a cheese box from Starbucks?!?!
Honestly, I am a sucker for commercial snacks. I also took chips and guac from Chipotle to eat on a hike in Joshua Tree haha!
Hm. Very interesting...
