Glad this option exists, I honestly just wanted something I could use to stream my switch games to my friends on Discord but $100+ didn't seem worth it for that.
Lucas Pontes hey solved the issue. It was just a dumb mistake. I had plugged my headphones straight on the Switch, whereas we’re supposed to plug it on our computer. Then of course make sure that the sound input and output settings are correct.
I ordered one of the "USB 3.0" models and I'm sad to report that it's just a blue colored USB 2.0 connector. It only has 4 pins instead of the 9 required for 3.0 speeds.
Can confirm, mine also has 4 pins and checked with USB device tree viewer the type and it is indeed high speed, so only usb 3.0. I'm keeping it because it surprisingly works with my 50fps camera but obviously has to do frame skipping Edit: the video signal is a little bit soft, but good enough for me
Yeah also got this one. The ebay page makes a lot of noise about being USB 3.0 and therefore being so much faster, but yeah as the commenters here say it is a blue colored USB 2.0 plug. Did only tested with my small notebook yet where it did very bad, but this could also be a limitation of my hardware, will try it again on my PC. I also ordered the other ones with and without loop, will see how well they work.

*Here's how to get the best visual quality out of this capture card, (ive spent a good few hours experimenting to find this out)* Ok so I believe this capture card only outputs at a LIMITED REFERENCE RANGE (16-235), Which means on pc the image will be washed out, or darked out. *HOW I FIXED IT!:* - Put my xbox 360 "reference levels" display settings to STANDARD (limited) - Then in StreamLabs OBS, video capture device settings I set COLOUR RANGE= FULL - Then add colour correction filter to Video Capture device - Gamma= -0.07 / Contrast= +0.02 / Brightness= -0.01 Now the colour and brightness will be PERFECT! Now on your pc monitor the video capture card shows black=0 and white=255. *No longer washed out 16-235 range. Now full 0-255 range.* You can test if you wish by going to your in game video calibration settings for brightness, and take a screenshot and import to photoshop, the blacks = rgb 0, and the whites = rgb 255 here is the visual quality i get on Forza Motorsport (also stream is only at 3500kbps bit rate) www.twitch.tv/videos/712149036?t=00h02m08s *Update: just for a touch of extra brightness i now set the filter at:* - Gamma= -0.06 / Contrast= +0.01 / Brightness= -0.01
What set up do you need for this to work? I bought the HDMI Capture Card, and an HDMI cable. But I have no clue what combination to get it to work. All I am seeing on the display on SLOBS is colored bars.

Been eyeballing this for a while. For the record, you can use multiple of these cards at once, however they have to each be on their own dedicated USB input (ie you can't put multiple on one USB 3.0 hub). I was curious and they were only $27 so I thought why not? I was VERY excited to see that it works. I use two of them, with two Sony mirrorless cameras and an Elgato HD60 S+ for Resolume graphics, all going into OBS Studio. There's no visable difference between the Elgato and the generic HDMI ones, and they all work at the same time. Simply fantastic.
I can get it to capture console, however my integrated webcam then doesn't work, it gets stuck on a freeze frame. Is there anything special I need to do. Its as if it won't accept the two video feeds at the same time. Any thoughts?
The first 7 Amazon affiliate links listed in your video description don't work ("Whoops we can't find that page") (Feb 19th, 2021). The last few do, but a few are no longer available. Any chance you could update? From what I hear the BlueAVS one works the best (and is still available).
Just wanted to say I bought this capture card back in October 2020 and it JUST broke last night. Plugged it in and the connection finally just stopped working. For $18, it was absolutely perfect for my needs, which has mainly consisted of streaming Switch gameplay through Discord and a few speedruns. I'll be buying a new one soon, but I'm honestly not even mad. I've made great memories in calls with friends thanks to this little thing, its been fantastic.
That's how I'm using mine too. Setting up the delay for my mic was surprisingly easy too after seeing the latency breakdown. Wish it did 1080p60 but I can't complain for $17.
I just bought it around $10, the updated version can support 4k input but outputs 1080p. EDIT: found out that I bought it from a sale. :( the original price is $20 It can do 1080p60, 1080p30, 720p60 and 720p30... though the build quality is not that much to be expected for. But damn! The price really got me. The color, the sharpness the resolution. EDIT: YES, it can input 4k BUT it can only output 1080p60 at maximum. At first, I can't use 1080p60 but restarting obs seems to work. I can now select 1080p60. Idkw.. EDIT: I just check it from amazon, but I can't find the exact item I bought. Maybe the price got a little bit higher since internet people knew about it. Will post the link once I saw it again posted on amazon. ~ I saw some people having issues with usb 3.0 overheating, I am still using the usb 2.0 version, no overheating at all. Will test it next week with a higher caliber camera. Maybe Ursa pro 4k just to test..

I got this card on eBay for like $8 without watching this video and I'm glad I did. I'm very happy with the results and although it's not named brand it still does its job very well. I stream just for fun so I'm also not too strict with the frames and resolution.
@goldenhenproductions8051 No. Bought a computer that was good enough for streaming instead of using my switch capture. I still plan on using the capture card for other game I don't have on my computer. After 9 months of use, it still works good but does have some glitches with specific games. But it's a pretty good starter.
Great review. I have one of these but it shows up as USB Video when I try to open Sparkocam, which I use for my Canon M50 to avoid it shutting down after 30 min. Because of this, I can't open the Canon option, only USB webcam, so the benefits of Sparkocam are pointless. Any idea around this or do I need a better capture card?
It worked just fine to use in one of our multi cam live concert streams. We even tested it out as the output capture card for a Roland V1-HD switcher and it worked seamlessly. We used it with OBS and it picked it up as a webcam without any issues. While this won't be a part in our professional streams, it's perfect for beginning streamers and anyone who has to work with a tight budget. Thank you for making this video!!!
I always wondered why the price of HDMI capture hasn't gone down after so many years. I mean HDMI is technically pretty old in the tech world and as we all know: The older something is, the easier and cheaper it is to produce. So I guess this was a long time coming.
Several points I would like to raise here (please don't be offended, I am not trying to be a d!ck, just want to maybe bring your attention to a few things) 1. HDMI has gone through many iterations, we are on HDMI 2.1, this supports HDR, 8K 120FPs etc etc. 2. Every time you produce something, you pay a royalty. This gets expensive (this is partly why HP etc invented Display port, to avoid royalties) 3. Yes, hardware costs come down, but the software that is developed costs way more, and this development cost has to be recuperated. 4. CODEC support generally has associated licensing costs also, codec's are generally not free. There are probably other reasons that i have not considered, but the HDMI element is a very small part of the product. Yes I would love an elgato style product for $30, but I think I might have to wait :)
I bought it and followed every step to set it up as this video. It works!!! What sorcery is this!!! Tested it on my asus laptop with a simple dual core and 4 gb ram with my nintendo switch with pokemon. Still testing!

can u make an update video with you guys testing multiple units from different distributors and seeing how durable they are in terms of recording? Do they heat up? Will they fry due to long term usage? etc. The price for what it offers is amazing but it would be a shame if the majority of units are prone to frying after a couple of uses. Just some thoughts. Great Video!
Great idea. I was wondering whether all these units -- which look identical -- might share only the unbranded external housing but have different innards. If that were the case, the $50 ones from Amazon might actually be worth buying over the $17 ones from eBay.
I bought the MavisLink one on Amazon before I knew they were less than half the price on eBay. It gets warm to the touch, for sure, but nothing hot. I generally stream for 2-3 hours at a time and don't feel like the heat is abnormal. Maybe over time it will become an issue. I've been using mine steadily for about two weeks.
A version with HDMI passthrough also popped up. Would be interesting to see if this one performs like the one your presented just with an HDMI out. Maybe even worth a little update video? They go for 20 Eurobucks on ebay.
Hey I need some help. I got this capture card and everything works perfectly but one thing. Whenever i record/livestream i can't get any in-game chat audio. How do I resolve this? I play on ps4.
i got mine today for 5 euros from amazon. as some people already stated it's a little hit or miss. i personally have no issues AT ALL. i use it to capture my macbook where i produce music on and send it to my pc to stream it. video quality is absolutely decent. not the darkest blacks but easily improvable in obs. i'm currently still use the hdmi audio from it. sadly (as far as i can tell or change) it's only mono. for the beginning of streaming music production thats fine. i'd probably wouldn't use that audio at all, rather upgrading my audio interface later. i'm very happy with it!
A heads-up regarding something never mentioned in all the reviews I've seen; all these cheap capture cards output at a fixed framerate, 30 or 60, whereas a Cam Link can sync with the input framerate. If you happen to want to capture 24 (23.976) or 25 fps, the output of the former will suffer from motion judder (and conversion back to 24/25fps in an editor will not correct it, in fact probably _worsen_ it ). For streamers and game-play capture it's moot, but if you're capturing (and editing) from a 24/25fps camera to create TV/broadcast compatible material you'll need the Elgato or something similar. Also, the cheap cards all output mono audio, the Elgato will pass-through PCM stereo (and likely keep it in sync within a frame or two, which makes life that bit easier for editing).
You seem to have a generation 1 capture card, which is explained by the color bars with no input. What do you mean, "cannot connect to tv"? I've never seen that error from my switch and it's worked fine with all three generations of these capture cards. Can you specify a bit?
@@8bit_coder Turns out it was because i was using an offbrand charger with my dock. simple as that! Although i cant get it to capture sound from the switch, only video.

Same here. Tried piggybacking another post on here. But no one responded to me. I have no idea what combination I need. I have the colored bars issue. I have the card plugged in and an HDMI plugged into the Xbox.
Jack Of Shades what do you mean by combination? For me, I’m using my switch. Here’s what I’m doing: 1 hdmi cord goes into console, and into the “input” on hdmi splitter. Then I have the hdmis splitter cord that it came with also in the console. Next I have 1 hdmi going from my monitor, to my hdmi splitter, and then last, my hdmi cord going into the capture card and is also plugged into the splitter. I plug my capture card into my pc. Open obs, and add source: capture device, and name it something ex. USB capture. And it worked for me doing all that.
When you say: “with a raw access to the feed it can have even more of a preview latency”, what exactly do you mean? I’m very interested in seeing exactly how low you can get the preview latency to go. What exactly would I have to do to get “raw access” to the feed?
He actually said "to a more raw access to the feed it can an even lower preview latency". Maybe he means OBS has some processing that it does to the feed before sending it to the preview. Things I can think of are color filtering, overlays, converting the resolution and FPS values, downscale filtering. Or maybe since OBS has all of these other features, it's running tasks alongside feeding the video, such as recording/streaming and audio mixing, that may contribute to increasing the latency in the preview. I don't know if any of this is true, as I don't know how OBS works precisely. Perhaps a more raw feed would mean whatever signal you get from the capture card, you feed it straight to a monitor without doing anything to it. I don't know what programs can do this though.

I also got one from AliExpress and thankfully for them, they changed the product description to USB 2.0 after some time. The blue USB connector doesn't mean anything indeed. I also posted a video with my first impressions of that little thing. It's actually OKish for 720p60, but still the latency is visible - with it I can use my Sony a5100 as a quality webcam
Great video. I’m looking into this for live streaming over obs with my Sony a6000. I have some questions I was hoping you could help me with 1) do you have any suggestions on where’s best to get a cant link which has the low latency like ur version? Or it’s not really seller specific. 2) our goal is to live stream our music concerts from home. I have a Sony a6000 and video lens. And I’m concerned with the mjpeg compression being that the can’t stream only streams in compress mjpeg, how much is that downgrading my cameras quality would an iPhone X hooked up directly over usb to a pc, stream higher quality video, than a Sony a6000 with a good video lens, which is being downgraded to mjpeg through the can’t link? Thanks again for your in depth videos. Awesome !
I bought one of these, but I can't get an input signal from any device. I just see the coloured bars whenever I play something into it, which apparently means it's not getting signal. Have tried PS5/camera/laptop etc... Does anyone have any ideas before I return?

I can't say for sure, but keep in mind that with a low-bandwidth USB 2.0 interface, it has to compress the video on the card before sending to the computer, and video compression is not a trivial operation. A Thunderbolt interface can send high-quality video without compression.

I can confirm this also. No performance difference between this and the USB 2.0 one either (as expected)
Can confirm, mine also has 4 pins and checked with USB device tree viewer the type and it is indeed high speed, so only usb 3.0. I'm keeping it because it surprisingly works with my 50fps camera but obviously has to do frame skipping
Edit: the video signal is a little bit soft, but good enough for me
Yeah also got this one. *Here's how to get the best visual quality out of this capture card, (ive spent a good few hours experimenting to find this out)*
Ok so I believe this capture card only outputs at a LIMITED REFERENCE RANGE (16-235), Which means on pc the image will be washed out, or darked out.
*HOW I FIXED IT!:*
- Put my xbox 360 "reference levels" display settings to STANDARD (limited)
- Then in StreamLabs OBS, video capture device settings I set COLOUR RANGE= FULL
- Then add colour correction filter to Video Capture device
- Gamma= -0.07 / Contrast= +0.02 / Brightness= -0.01
Now the colour and brightness will be PERFECT! Now on your pc monitor the video capture card shows black=0 and white=255.
*No longer washed out 16-235 range. Now full 0-255 range.*
You can test if you wish by going to your in game video calibration settings for brightness, and take a screenshot and import to photoshop, the blacks = rgb 0, and the whites = rgb 255
here is the visual quality i get on Forza Motorsport (also stream is only at 3500kbps bit rate)
www.twitch.tv/videos/712149036?t=00h02m08s
*Update: just for a touch of extra brightness i now set the filter at:* - Gamma= -0.06 / Contrast= +0.01 / Brightness= -0.01
I will try this with my Xbox One, I've been trying to correct the colors with color correction filter, without a good result.
Thanks

For the record, you can use multiple of these cards at once, however they have to each be on their own dedicated USB input (ie you can't put multiple on one USB 3.0 hub).
I was curious and they were only $27 so I thought why not? I was VERY excited to see that it works. I use two of them, with two Sony mirrorless cameras and an Elgato HD60 S+ for Resolume graphics, all going into OBS Studio.
There's no visable difference between the Elgato and the generic HDMI ones, and they all work at the same time. Simply fantastic.

I always wondered why the price of HDMI capture hasn't gone down after so many years. I mean HDMI is technically pretty old in the tech world and as we all know: The older something is, the easier and cheaper it is to produce. So I guess this was a long time coming.
Its becos of stupid marketing
Several points I would like to raise here (please don't be offended, I am not trying to be a d!ck, just want to maybe bring your attention to a few things)
1. HDMI has gone through many iterations, we are on HDMI 2.1, this supports HDR, 8K 120FPs etc etc.
2. Every time you produce something, you pay a royalty. This gets expensive (this is partly why HP etc invented Display port, to avoid royalties)
Thanks, any feedback on cpu usage?

Man I can’t thank you enough for taking the time on making this video, it’s baffling how all of the very well known brands are just sold out everywhere, and those resellers with stock jacking up the prices like crazy, leaving folks with a need of one with no obvious options. Can you plug 2 of these in to stream to mirrorless cameras at the same time?
can u make an update video with you guys testing multiple units from different distributors and seeing how durable they are in terms of recording?
Good Idea! Well I got the GOODAN one on Amazon and so far it gets pretty hot not going to lie.

Did you get it working? Isit still capturing video?
i got mine today for 5 euros from amazon. as some people already stated it's a little hit or miss. i personally have no issues AT ALL. i use it to capture my macbook where i produce music on and send it to my pc to stream it. video quality is absolutely decent. not the darkest blacks but easily improvable in obs. i'm currently still use the hdmi audio from it. sadly (as far as i can tell or change) it's only mono. for the beginning of streaming music production thats fine. i'd probably wouldn't use that audio at all, rather upgrading my audio interface later.
i'm very happy with it!
I can’t hear the audio for the gameplay on my stream can you help with that?

King Vinny no, mine eventually worked, for some reason, it worked for me after I gave it a custom name, like “usb capture” maybe try that?
I would love to know this as well, I had to add a 120ms offset on my mic to get everything synced on mine.

2) our goal is to live stream our music concerts from home. I have a Sony a6000 and video lens. And I’m concerned with the mjpeg compression being that the can’t stream only streams in compress mjpeg, how much is that downgrading my cameras quality
would an iPhone X hooked up directly over usb to a pc, stream higher quality video, than a Sony a6000 with a good video lens, which is being downgraded to mjpeg through the can’t link?
Thanks again for your in depth videos. Awesome !

Should i use this capture card for console gameplays?
Im looking for a capture card to stream switch games. If latency is no issue woyld this be appropriate?
So I got a question for. Y’all if I was looking for a affordable capture card to record gameplay on my Nintendo switch for this channel would this be a good option?
Did you get it?
Hey man any HDMI splitters you'd recommend for this? Ive been wanting to record some smash from my switch and don't wanna pay an arm and a leg for the other capture cards at the moment.
@@thias1 He didnt say that? He asked for a HDMI splitter
@@thias1 They deleted their comment so
Oh yeah I saw these months ago when I was searching for Linux compatible capture cards. Some of them apparently work out-of-the-box.
masterneme well yeah I sure hope they do
UVC is standard my dude
heck UVC out is even support by the PS Vita using a plugin made by xerpi, no drivers needed
Did you buy one and try it on Linux? I am trying to get it to work with FFmpeg and failing.
@@thenetimp Does it work in other applications or is it just FFmpeg that's finicky?
@@thenetimp You've probably figured it out by now but I got one and "ffmpeg -f v4l2 -input_format mjpeg -i /dev/video2 -c:v copy output.avi" (without the quotes) works for me. You'll probably have to change the device number but that should get you started.
When using my Son7 A7 camera, it shows big black borders with some of the screen information on the bottom part. Basically it records what the screen sees including the information on the screen, does anyone know a workaround or fix? Thank you in advance!
Soooooo buying this now is a good move??
I tried this and it works perfectly with a go pro hero 4. Don’t hesitate and buy it ASAP
I just ordered mine for $4.44 with free shipping... Now the month-long wait begins. Can't wait!
did you get it? lol
@@trashcant4678 tracking said it arrived at my country just yesterday and I haven't heard anything more because of the coronavirusss
It arrived. I finally got it. *Exact* same like in the video. Connected my RX100 m3 to it and BAM it shows up instantly, no setup, literally plug and play. Mind blowing piece of tech for $4 lol. Perfect for someone who just wants a quality webcam without spending more. Thanks Adam!
I bought this in hopes to play my switch on my pc and stream to my friends on discord. The latency is too much for the types of games I play (rhythm games such as Taiko, Muse Dash and Xonic)
If I get a hdmi splitter would it let me play directly on the tv with no latency but also allow footage to be recorded on obs? I don’t know how people use this card by playing looking at the preview only
Thats correct, you can see in “real time” the game on your end, but i can recommend you to buy the video capture with loop, which eliminates the need for a splitter
@@MiguelFloresC1 In hindsight, I probably would have. But I've already bought it, so I'm gonna get a splitter to solve the issue, thank you :)
hi, i bought this capture card and tried to use it with my nintendo Switch. When plugged to my monitor my switch outputs 1080p signal, however when plugged in the capture card it only outputs 480p, is this normal? How can i fix this if it's an error?
That’s weird...are you just recording or streaming?
mijo , that happens with both, even in the OBS preview I can see the TV output of my console being just 480p
Dose this work for Nintendo 3DS/2DS Consoles???
So it can't output 1080p60? Also do we know if you can use multiple at once?
Unless you're doing a lot of full-face content, 720p60 is more than enough for streams where you usually put the webcam as a small picture-in-picture in a corner. :)
And for skype meetings, most ppl only have 30 fps anyways, so...
I just read another person's comment here where they said the most they could get working at one time was two of these capture devices hooked up to the same computer. Three or more would fail.
I'm only repeating what I just read here.i can't vouch for the validity of it. But I have no reason to doubt it being true either. Just saying.
Anthony Goodley how are you ferified
@@Qtclips I'm verified through Google's defunct Knol website over 6 years ago. No longer possible
For someone who i just starting out 720p60 should be enough i mean hell alot of the BIG time streamers dont even push 1080 60
Cam link is priced for demand. Not component cost. Just like a bottle of water.
"720p60" is all i wanted to know. Well, besides "UVC" :D It's ordered.
There are now newer versions using the MS2130 chipset, which can do 1080p60 YUY2 and the audio bug isn't present.
Do you have the link for it? Please, or also how can I check this?
I dont have external gpu. So I want to buy this so that I dont lose the performance while recording/streaming . Also, can I record/stream with 60 fps? For example ..I get 50-56 fps in a game. But when I record it I get like 30 and sometimes it drops to 15 for a few seconds. So if I buy the capture card and then record with it, wont I get 50-56 fps like I do without recording? Also plz tell me the how to set it up.
Mine overheated and died after 3 days. Might depend on how well they assemble each of them.
I worried about this setting on fire lol there has gotta be a catch. Did you have any issues getting the audio to work on stream lab? I can't figure out how to do it lol
@@DRUNKENATHEISTSTUDIO I remember it being complicated, make sure to disable time stamps in some properties, add the sound as a separate source in OBS and try different options...
I just bought it was perfect for what i needed such as streaming and video conferencing, Found out that it is great if you have older computer specs that cant handle the Cam Link. The cam link i have would freeze every 10 to 30 minutes using different USB 3.0 ports.
Keep up the great work!
Hey man - can you help me understand this? I need to stream from a JVC ProHD camcorder with SDI out, so can use a BlackMagic SDI to HDMI converter to get a HDMI signal. With one of these capture cards, would the USB output be seen as a webcam by my laptop, which I can then select to stream via UA-cam or Facebook Live?
What would you suggest to substitute the cam link from legato?
I buy this one but never seem to make it work the audio on OBS from my Switch :(
Same issue. :/ keep trying to add the usb audio but it's not working. Tried the monitor audio part too, still no luck
Grabbed one of these (not based off this video, just found it online) and it appears to only output audio in mono? Kind of makes it useless for game streaming imo. Honestly surprised no one else has mentioned this.
I don't understand how to use an Hdmi splitter to be able to have my gameplay on my monitor. Can anyone help me with that?
Im having the exact same problem!! I dont know if im dumb or the splitter I have is not good.
Just confirmed that it goes all the way down to $4 (philippine peso converted to USD) but it only ships to SEA countries
Watching this was like seeing the opening scenes in "This Island Earth" where Rex Reason goes through the catalogue with metal pages of impossible equipment. Of course it turns out to be a trap from alien invaders intent on using his skills to save their planet from destruction in an interplanetary war. Later on Faith Domergue turns up.
Wtf are you on about? I must be on the wrong channel
Dude you just saved me so much money, I was about to purchase a HD60s to just record retro game footage for speedruns
i have a version of this which has a passthrough and the thing completely sucks. When it does work it has a weird chromatic aberration effect. And only does 1080p30.
90% of the time it doesnt work or has artifacts and glitching
have you tried the new capture cards that are powered by the ms2130?
Does it also capture Audio by itself? Or will I need to buy something else for that?
can confirm it does capture audio
@@souldew2 can you hear ur own voice in the clip because I want to start a UA-cam channel
just got mine in, ran it with OSSC 5X with my Sega Saturn... holy hell, this is pretty impressive
when you think about it, they shouldn't cost much, all they are doing is turning a HDMI output and making it seem like a webcam
It works, but when i'm streaming my switch to discord my friends complain that it has very low fps. Could this be an internet thing or is it the card?
Might just be a internet thing
Hey I just got mine and I'm so confused on how to set it up can you give me a hand please. I'm trying to get vids for my channel
UPDATE: It worked for 3 weeks. Mine started getting so hot I could have fried a tiny egg on it. It stopped working as a capture card, but now I have a tiny USB hot plate.
Hi, Andrew! I’m working with 1080 25 FPS for 2 months already. No problems with this chip capture card. Maybe your signal was 4K 60fps, or something like that?
I got it 9 months ago and my wife use it everyday up until now. When I first got it it feels very hot if used for hours. Adding thermal pads to the dissipate heat to the aluminum casing significantly cooled it down. Even when its connected to the USB port for the whole day it just warms a little. You can check my cooling mod here @ around 3minute mark: ua-cam.com/video/waLs0SkEbqw/v-deo.html
Damn, 7 years ago I was doing UA-cam on a cheap VHS to DVD adapter from a 360 component cables and it was HORRENDOUS
Hey quick question: Will this capture card work on older devices such as the Wii U or Xbox360? Been thinking about speed running lately and wanted a cheap capture card that doesn’t require to be hooked up to a PC the whole recording.
pretty sure it would. i have one of those sketchy retro handhelds and even that works on it. Im just not sure about the sound, yet.
@@FrogFraction ive never used a capture card before so i was just wondering, if i get this i'd have to connect it to my ps4 and also my pc? If i wanted to stream and use obs as well.

Any answers? Do you have an HDMI Splitter?
I have one, but I'm missing the driver disc, so I don't know what to do, because it's flickering or malfunctioning after a move and several months in a tote…
The recording/stream coming out of OBS looks fuzzy/low res whenever there's movement on the screen, but looks perfect on the preview. Any ideas how to fix?

ive seen reports of this burning out and i wanted to ask what exactly makes it operate at such high temperatures that it would burn out?
I can't say for sure, but keep in mind that with a low-bandwidth USB 2.0 interface, it has to compress the video on the card before sending to the computer, and video compression is not a trivial operation. A Thunderbolt interface can send high-quality video without compression.
I bought same card for about 9 usd with shipping. And it works same as my expensive HD60s.
So you are saying I can use my laptop screen for my raspberry pi zero? OMG that's amazing!

1. great for mobile gaming support in obs just plug and play

In obs add the source as a video capture device or webcam, same for audio.
Anyone here ever use this capture card for a long period time? Like 4 hours or more for streaming?
yes. I've run into a slightly different issue. I bought 4 of them and hooked up (or tried) 4 HDMI cameras to this thing. It didn't want to play above 2 - as in I could plug it in, OBS recognised it, but I couldn't get the feeds simultaneously. Best I could do was get max 2 streams in OBS at any one time and when I'd get the 3rd stream working, one of the other 2 would stop working. Was very frustrating. I've settled for 2 HDMI and some other video source for now. Also I'm not sure I'm even getting 30fps but it could be a bottleneck from running 2 of them via USB 3.0 - not sure.
@@RoySherfan how did you manage to use multiple devices on obs? i have 2 of these, when I add input device, I can add one, but when I try to input another camera, it just shows blank screen.. I am trying to capture my switch, but it does not seem to register via OBS. The display doesn't seem to leave dock mode.
