    I love how you can bezel a stone and with very little effort, end up with something fit for royalty. Id like to turn those upside down and add a drop bead to the bottom. Thanks Stephanie !!!

    Thanks for the review, I’m sure many of us were wondering about the new dragon thread and appreciate the honest review. I think it will be great for those small bezels because it is more like a soft thread and molds to the beads better than the thicker threads. So I’m definitely going to get some dragon thread. As far as more videos with this bezel, I think it would be great to see what you come up with. Love all of your designs 💜

    I haven't had Rivolis to do any of these type products until I found an old antique looking flower necklace in my stash, found at a thrift store, so I took it apart. I think I'll try this simple pattern an then connect them for a bracelet...they're a pretty apricot color!

    Perfect timing! I just got some of this thread and thought I'd try to make a bangle with it just for a small project to test. I like very much the concept of smaller packaging along with the thought that it may have a nice drape for necklaces. Thanks so much for the preview and the instructions for the beautiful earrings :)

Thank you for the all the effort you put into sharing your expertise. I truly feel your love of beading continues to spread the interest for the advanced and beginner beader. A Tivoli Bracelet! Thank you Stephanie I appreciate your unbiased opinion of the Dragon Thread. I personally do not like Fireline and would not try Dragon thread as it is even thinner then the Fireline. I am a Wildfire thread person as I like the feel of the thickness and makes my pieces feel more substantial, but that is me. It does look like it works nicely for some things as you said. Love the earring and they are nice size and yet no heavy looking.

    I bought the Dragon line and it's too soft for me. I have spools and spools of Fireline which I used for years, and then saw Allie at Potomac saying she uses the green Wildfire most of the time. So I tried it and I absolutely love it. I have two spools of the Dragon thread and will save those for fringes.

    I do hope you do a bracelet and pendant (perhaps a necklace/collar) in the Tivoli Rivoli pattern. The original was one of the first videos of yours I watched and I was instantly charmed. On the subject of thread, have you ever used One-G or Nozu Sonuku to bezel? Jean Power had recommended it for bezelling a 27mm round fancy stone that needed a very specific count and the One-G / Nozu Sonoku gave the bezel just enough stretch (I likened it to putting on a pair of Spankz). Not only do these threads create amazingly supple bezels but the thread has an unsung bonus property - they are extremely compressable, letting you get more passes through your beads with larger needles. I can go through a 15/0 5 times with a size ten needle without the least bit of strain, which makes doing stepped bezels and fully covered backs and decoration on a finished bezel so much easier. The thread doesn't fray BUT it splits very easily and that can be frustrating. It's definitely not great for structural work and it's slippery, so if you're a beader who likes to knot, this isn't a good choice (it doesn't kink either, so maybe that's a bonus).

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому

      Aww thank you Lita! Tivoli Rivoli bracelet and necklace will be coming up in future videos. I have used both One-G and Nozue Sonoko. I use Nozue Sonoko mostly for bangles as the stretch allows for a good fit over the hand. I love your Spanx reference 🤣 This new Dragon Thread bezels very well. No stretch but thin enough to get the needle through the beads several times and the suppleness makes the bezel curve beautifully. It'a a nice addition to the thread repertoire.

      When I was learning to bezel my problem was that while I was adding the second (third, really) row of Delicas I was somehow twisting my thread inside the starting ring. So that caused my ring to go all wonky instead of staying nice and round. Make sure you're putting your needle in on the outside of the beads, not the middle so you don't catch (go under) the thread already going through the beads. Hopefully this makes sense. Once I learned where I was going wrong it clicked and no more problems. Good luck! 💗

    Thank you for the thread review. I'm always up to hear more about thread. Also love Crystals too. Got a square pair I want to try like this.
    One thought . ....when will they start making the holes LARGER?? especially with ladder stitch, the thread has to go thru at least 3 times on some beads, then later on if you add beads. I am so sick and tired of planning a project only to have beads with irregular holes, and smaller holes than neccessary. Surely I'm not the only one that has an issue with small hole beads?? Even the Czech beads holes are irregular.

      You're welcome Zilren 😀 I find the Japanese seed beads to be pretty regular in hole diameter. Try a thinner thread for the smaller holes so you can make more passes through he beads. Nozue Sonoko thread or this new Dragon Thread. One G is also thinner.

    I am wondering if there is a calculation for the bezel. I have 12mm Rivolis, and would love to try this, but need to figure out, how many to start with. any and all suggestions would be great. Thank you and love sent to you, for I am a huge fan and love your tutorials!!!

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому

      Thank you 🙏 You would start with 30 Delicas for a 12mm Rivoli. However, the embellishment around the Rivoli will be different. You’ll just have to play with the bicones and 11/0’s for a good fit.

    I have used Dragon thread several times & I have decided I don't like it. It frays on the ends & it splits very easily. If I make a mistake & have to take my thread out it frays & splits & then knots up. I have not been beading very long but long enough. Maybe for more experienced beaders it would be fine but for me its a no go. Unfortunately I bought some so maybe some day I will try agin when I have been beading for more than 3 years. I think my 3 years experience is not long enough

      Try waxing your Dragon thread. It definitely helps. It is a bit fussy but I do like it for tight bezels. Fireline 6 lb is my go to but I keep Dragon thread in my stash as well😃

    I make a lot of brick stitch and dangling fringe earrings with delica beads. I would like to know if this thread would work good with that. Also if I should get the white color instead of black.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому

      I think it would be perfect for dangling beads as it is soft and supple. I generally use black or dark colors which recede into the background of a piece. Unless of course it’s a transparent bead.

    Stephanie, can you tell approximately what pound weight the Dragonthread is?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому +2

      Beading thread doesn't give pound weight. Fireline does because it was originally a fishing line so 8lb. is the weight it holds I guess when catching a fish? Most beading thread goes by diameter 😃 Were just used to referring to Fireline's pound weight but its not actually relevant in beading thread.

    I only had 12 mm raviolis What is your recommended amount to start beads for 12 mm

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому

      I start with 30 11/0 delicas for a 12mm rivoli. however, the embellishment (bicone and 11/0 combination) around the 12mm will change from the original 14mm rivoli.

    HELP!!!!! I am so frustrated. I am making my 13th and 14th earring in several colors, I am working on a Capri Blue set. both of them are not staying in the bezel! what am I doing wrong. I noticed that you are using 8 pound line. I am using Fireline 6 lb., could that be the problem? I did have a problem with a few others but if the rivoli pops out when the bezel is done I don't know what to do. any ideas? Thanks Stephanie, I love your videos and really want to continue beadweaving, This one has me stumped. I have rewatched the video to make sure I am using the correct size beads. So, I am wondering if I need to use the 8lb Fireline. Thank you in advance for your response.... Rosemary in Hawaii

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  2 роки тому

      You have made 12 and they are fine? If that’s the case then maybe it’s just your tension or the stones are a little different? Are you using Miyuki ? If you’ve done so many and they came out good then I’m stumped! You can send a few pictures to Bronzepony Facebook page and I’ll see if I can help. 8 lb Fireline might help or try Wildfire.

      @@BronzeponyBeadedJewelryThanks for tge instant response, Stephanie, I so appreciate it. I am trying 8lb now and will let you know. Some of the others were looser than I thought they should be and others would almost snap in place imediately. I did had to undo some stitching and redo, could that of stretched the thread? I will get back to you which you will probably not get until tomorrow since your on the east coast. Thank you again!

    • @rosemarycooper7857

      I think I just found the problem. I thought Delicas were all 11/0. I am glad I keep the description with the product like you do. I just read the container and the colored Delicas I was using are 15/0. I kept thinking it was almost that the bezel was too small and the Rivoli couldn't sit in it properly, that's when I thought to check the description. So pulling everything apart, again and taking a break. Maybe try later.

    • @rosemarycooper7857
      @rosemarycooper7857 2 роки тому

      A bit of an update, after my previous post I corrected delica size, and yes I am using Miyuki beads. The Rivoli fit better but still moving way more than any other ones. For the sake of my sanity, I gave up on the current one I was having trouble with and made a different color one and it was fine. I believe it's the Rivoli itself. The back wasn't foiled it was painted blue (front color was Caori blue) and after looking at the edge, it appeared a bit more rounded than the other foiled back ones. I either bought it at Fire Mountain or Potmac beads, awhile ago and I did not transfer label to the actual storage bag.
      I also watched 2 other Rivoli earring videos you did. One where you mentioned you sometimes have to play with the fitting of the Rivoli as you do the two rounds of the 15/0's, which was very helpful to me. Thanks so much, Stephanie! Keep posting your beautiful videos.

    I haven't had Rivolis to do any of these type projects until I found an old antique looking flower necklace in my stash, found at a thrift store, so I took it apart. I think I'll try this simple pattern an then connect them for a bracelet...they're a pretty apricot color!
