I love your 5 second rule, just used it to get up this morning 😆 Thanks for your self-dev content, Mel! I make videos on the same topic and you've definitely informed my worldview.
Shortly after I graduated from college, in 1989, my dad gifted me The Dale Carnegie Course, which was an in-person class that met every week or two, for a number of months. Much more than just teaching public speaking (which it did VERY well, by the way. I watched some serious transformations happen in a short period of time.), it was really a fantastic course about living happier, healthier, with less worry, and in better community with those around you. We read all of his books, did a lot of interesting assignments. Now, I loved my college experience, but The DCC gave my life much more value than most of the classes I took in college. If it's still a thing, I highly recommend it to all. If not, second best would be reading all of his timeless books. Particularly "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living".
I also love to read, but never have time. Audiobooks from my library is my go to, but somehow not as satisfying. I often have to listen more than once to absorb everthing though which makes sense. But... I can listen while walking. My mom always said, where there's a will, there's a way. 😊
Thanks, Mel! BUT . . . I bet Buffett has STAFF to do ALL household chores, like shopping, cooking + cleaning. MY reading comes AFTER my HUGE list of "MUST DOS", is done . . . I listen to experts as I do my "must do" things.
Awesome video! Thanks! I’m currently working on reading more. I check out a bunch of books from my library and try to read them at night instead of scrolling my phone ❤
So interesting. I have an unhealthy fear of making telephone calls. I would rather drive to a place of business than phone for an appointment. It is the impersonal nature of using the phone. A zoom call works so well for me because I can read my audience. I have been trying to use to phone once a day until it is no longer such a big deal.
This is right on time Mel, I've been trying to express the importance of reading to my college bound teen. I've sent him this particular info from you and Warren B.
Seriously, why is no one discussing 'Hidden Manifestation'? This forbidden book is a goldmine of knowledge that can sincerely change your life

I use it to get out of bed too...

Totally. Unrealistic.
I was thinking the same thing
Yeah, his mind is not burdened with mundane tasks and decisions. Sure we might not become the next W. B., but reading is still a good tool imo.
Great advice! Then move along & "Let them!" 🎉
Omg L❤VE the heart on your nail! Precious!!!

He still lives in a modest home, in an average neighborhood, not a mansion in a gated community (I think he's stayed grounded and humble)
I 💙libraries!

Warren must follow your 5 second rule 👍🏻🙌🏻
I appreciate it very much 🙏 😊 ☺️
My interest in investment is nil as I have no money to invest
IT makes me feel good your Pod thanx a lot mme
If most people read for 6 hours after work that would be it for the day then bed 😆
He said he has some filters in his mind.
The best way to speak well (besides practice)? Read good books. Absorb the rhythm from the world’s best communicators.
At the end of his day, He still takes his pants off the same way as I do.
Love u
... Probably the same amount of time people doomscroll online....
