i bought a hawk250 for exactly the same thing.. it was cheap enough that if i messed it up, it wouldnt hurt my feelings.. i got to build it, so it helped me understand the workings of a motorcycle as well.. i still have it, and i bought it in 2017. i still will pull this one out over the harley sometimes.
Funny how quickly learning to ride goes from scary to so fun it's all you think about.

Same thing I bought cuz I'm a girl and this is less heavy compared to other bikes. I love it but it's very scary starting out, and if you're short, buy or lower the shock
Thank goodness you were there to tell him "You stalled it" right after he stalled it, hearing that he stalled it with his ears, and feeling he stalled it with no more vibrations but, there was nothing that sealed the deal until you said "You stalled it"

Enjoy man make sure to put locktight on all the bolts and make sure to hook up the rear brake correctly. Hawks are awesome

I started on flat ground and would kind of push off from the ground a little bit, helped me get the feel of it, the bike is heavy as hell imo, more than I expected and I’m a large person. I have the dlx the throttle is ultra touchy right where it doesn’t need to be, the first 1/4 inch of travel or so
I love the hawk engine and transmission. Very easy to ride. I wish it was a six speed tho
I completely agree! A six speed would be awesome. Although, the sprocket change improved just about everything about the capabilities.

I think you would be fine on one. The rear shock is adjustable, so you can lower it an inch or two if needed.

Hey man i have the SAME exact squeeking sound when going slow. Is it the bearings or the brake pads causing the sound?
I'm thinking it is the bearings. I'm going to take the rear wheel off and re-grease the bearings to see if it helps. I wondered if anyone else was having that issue.
What size bark busters are you using?
My electric start went out ..can you do a video how to fix it and where to get the parts
Is it for the Hawk 250? If so, I would check the button housing first. I had a bad ground in the switch because the housing was loose. You can also jump the starter solenoid and tell if the button is not working. Let me know if that does not work.
