  • $1500 Amazon motorcycle, 2020 Hawk 250 Enduro! I had a few issues getting it to run and I explain what was happening in this video. I ordered a new petcock to hopefully fix the problem. On the other hand, I really love this bike so far. It has manageable power, it's light weight, and it's smooth! Upgrades and title coming soon.

I have had mine for 5 years and love it! things I've done to it. 1) bought a cheapo Mikuni knockoff carb and jets 2) set valve lash 3) ride the crap out of it. I also upgraded the cluster to a tach and digital. And yes tighten everything and locktite what you don't want to fall off and change the shipping oil!

Nice. Pennsylvania rider here as well, considering getting one this week. Still on the fence but if I do, I'm going to mod it out immediately. Cool thing is the upgrades don't cost too much. I'm thinking $3-500 in upgrades should make it really nice. Safe riding.

The little bowl on the petcock is a sediment bowl to catch dirt. You check it every so many miles and clean it if there's dirt in it. Old school fuel filter.

Petcock reserve position draws from the bottom of the tank. On position has a short tube that draws from a little higher level in the tank.

ChopperFett Ive had mine for 2 years just rolled over 7400 miles. About 60% on road 40% off road. Pros the 229cc honda cg clone is reliable. If you have the time it will get you where you need to go. I ride mine a little over 70 miles round trip 6 days a week to work.
Cons: Vibes alot of vibration (thumper life)
      Stock cluster is junk
Out of the box it is to lean to run right down here in Texas
      Plastic is brittle
Bolts rattle loose see vibes above.
Fasteners are sub par replace with quality ones.
Stock tubes won't take much abuse.
All and all I am very happy with my chonda. She runs good. She does what I need her to do and if I take my time she will take just about anywhere I have had the guts to put her. Best $600 I've ever spent on a mode of transportation. Got mine used. Gonna hit the trails in the morning in 35° weather and she will be ready to go.

@chopperfett I've had mine for about 5 years and love it. I would not hesitate to ride this thing anywhere. Very reliable. It is 3rd world technology. My wife and kid have Brand new Honda's (CRF 125 & CRF 50) and by no means is the Hawk comparable to those. Think of it as a really cool/capable scooter. It is not a whoops and triples basher, get a KTM if you are at that level. But it will eat up logging roads and light offroadin' like a champ. LMK if you have any questions.

I got mine about a month ago. I didn't get any major issues with it. The fuel gauge isn't that accurate for me but everything else on it works fine. A lot of people have rejetted the carburetor on theirs but I haven't had to do that. I can get it up to 60 MPH but not without some struggle. I did change the front sprocket to a 17t instead of the 15t. I rode it heavy up a mountain nearby going over large rocks because I really wanted to push it. Some people have more issues with theirs and I'm not sure why. Its not a bad bike for the price but it's not gonna take you on a highway for more than a few miles.

So, I haven't confirmed it yet, but I'm pretty sure that the main fuel stem (on position) is really tall. Therefore, it takes over a gallon of fuel to measure over the main fuel stem. So, that means the reserve fuel will last something like 70+ miles? If that is the case, it is way too much for the reserve in my opinion. I will let you know.

If you run out of gas, you should THEN switch to "reserve" which will get the remaining tank fuel and should get you at least a few more miles to fuel up.

While it is pretty tall, I think you would be able to ride it. I think there are some aftermarket setups that would lower it a bit and not break the bank. How far would you be commuting?

Yeah. The carb is usually the first thing to go on these bikes. When I change the sprockets, I'll be replacing the chain with something beefier. The stock chain looks like it would fit on a bicycle haha.

Yes I am aware. I addressed the issue in my mods video. I show how the petcock is designed. The "on" fuel stem is really long and requires almost gallon of gas to be in the tank. For testing purposes, I didn't fill the tank up past the "on" fuel stem.

I've had it up to 55 mph and ran out of road. It claims 60 to 65 as a top speed. At 65mph, the bike would be at the rev limiter. A sprocket change would make 65mph more smooth.
