Great idea! You might want to use stainless steel wire instead of silver plated because the silver plating will come off and it'll look coppery and it's also not very strong, whereas stainless steel is harder and will hold up longer. TFS 💖🦅🦅
Yay Steve!!! I actually saw a video suggesting washi tape in resin about a week ago... it works out GREAT!!! So now I have all kinds of "new" projects in mind because I have a RIDICULOUS amount of washi! This gives a whole new twist to resin!
I very much appreciate this episode because I am starting a small business soon and letter key chains were on the list and you just showed me how to go about the jump rings and key chain fob - very much appreciated... instead of washing tape though we are going to do vinyl cut outs like names or monograms. Thanks so much for all you do from Florida, USA
And your videos continue to be timely. I have been playing with washi tape and found it lifting on wood blanks. So YES! leave room on the side so the tape can be sealed in.
*GET OUT OF MY HEAD STEVE!!!!* 🤣💖 Seriously, I literally JUST ran across a bunch of old fabric washi tape from my scrapbooking days-and I was looking at them, wondering if I could use it in resin!!
Thank you for talking about that you have a tremor. I have a tremor also and it makes me think i can't do certain things, but seeing you do it and the way you make it easier for yourself makes me try too! Pipettes are the bomb!
I've seen a few crafting accounts using washi tape in resin and it does give some nice touches to some resin work. I've seen some used in coasters to add some extra patterns.
Very nice Steve, I'm waiting on some washi tape now. I hadn't figured out what to do with them yet. That's a good idea to use glitter in the resin background. I also have some nail transfer foil. I used it once, looks good.
Love this experiment, I will run and get some washi tape, but I was wondering how much would you sell these? Hello from Quebec ! Take care and never stop crafting you are great!
They turned out very pretty, and I agree you should have used an opaque background for that “M” instead of making it clear, for two reasons. One, because it will make it more colorful. Two, if you use and opaque white on that one it will enhance the coloring in the actual washi tape and make the pictures stand out more. Whatever the background of the washi tape is should probably be the opaque color you use on it. Although I do think if you also tried an opaque black background on that one if might be very pretty.
Thank you for showing the home made jump rings. Ive had problems with not having the right size. I dont know why I didnt think of this but its one of those forehead hitting moments for me. lol
Hey I didn't see it addressed (apologies if I missed it) so is your hand okay? It doesn't look like too much of an injury but I just wanted to be sure!
i have been trying this on letters and doming it does pull away from the tape, you have to make sure it stays on, but i put it on the front of the letter.
I love your videos I learn so much. I'm trying to find those molds that are just open on the end and you put them in a flower foam to hold them. U made some just the other night. Can you tell me what they are called? Thank you so much
HI Steve, I am your new Subscriber Lin, Just watched your resin letter tutorial with you using washi tape I would just like to say WOW I thought your letters turned out so amazing looking thank you for sharing your very helpful tips very much appreciated 👍 as I am very new to the Whole process of resin every little bit of help is appreciated ✨👍🙂 Lin
For the m you could always just color the background with like a pasta pen or something more opaque and then add a little resin to the top of that that way you wouldn't see the back of the washi tape that you put on there.
That was great! I love how the washi tape looks on all the letters. It was great to see how you make the larger jump rings. I need some larger jump rings so that was really helpful. Thank you!
Steve I love the way these came out especially the "P" HINT HINT LoL I think perhaps instead of drilling a hole through the letter to put in a jump ring drill into the top with a small eye hole then hook into that with the keyring. No chance of it coming apart.

Ty for leaving us this tip! 🥰
I love steam punk stuff. Gonna check your videos for that. If you don't have any yet, maybe do a video on that. 😃

I think this is my favourite make of yours Steve. Lots of great tips. BTW I have a challenge for you which I will air on my channel soon!!!

So glad you did this video I’m slowly getting back into resin again x
Thanks for your ideas !!! Concerning the jumpring: it's maybe safer to double them up just like the keyring.
I thought the same or glue them just so the beautiful letter doesn’t fall off!!
Fantastic idea !!! I am working on letters now can't wait to use my washi tape😃👍

I didn't know Washi tape could resists, thanks for that!
Thanks for the video!!!
The R is so pretty

That’s a great idea

I love this idea, just wanted to say thanks for the videos. Really learning a lot from your channel.
Hello I love your videos..Could you tell me difference between tesin you use and Epoxy resin , please..Keep videos coming. Thanks
Ok I see the usefulness of the tape.... This may be a dumb question BUT WHAT IS WASHI TAPE?
Love the key rings this way.
Ringy-dingy ringy-dingy🔔🔔🦋🦋
Great idea! Never would have thought of it. Love everything you do Steve!!

I saw a tutorial where she used washi tape to make pendants it was so beautiful
Hi Steve. Glad you did this video. I plan on using Washi tape, and I didn't know about leaving a little edge. Thankx for the info.
Love your enthusiasm! Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you for showing the home made jump rings. Ive had problems with not having the right size. I dont know why I didnt think of this but its one of those forehead hitting moments for me. lol
I'm just getting started in resin, you've shown me a lot. Thank you
Hey I didn't see it addressed (apologies if I missed it) so is your hand okay? It doesn't look like too much of an injury but I just wanted to be sure!
Hello Steve do the Jump Rings hold up and don’t spread apart? Thanks
Steve go check out LiaDia Designs she dose beautiful work with washi tape.
HAH got my washi tape, my alphabet mold, some micro brushes *awesome* and now I have this to help me, nice one Steve
I would have thought the tape would absorb the resin like a sticker or a piece of paper. Would it turn out much different to seal it first?
Asom really liked your video ☺
I make all my own jump rings since I watched your vid on how to make them. Washi tape is also great for using in making uv resin rings.
i have been trying this on letters and doming it does pull away from the tape, you have to make sure it stays on, but i put it on the front of the letter.
The A is so me. Except I'd get the white tassel sooo dirty. I'd need the ble tassle on it. Lol.
Ooh another great idea! Must look into that alphabet mould!
Another fantastic idea! You never stop. I hope you are feeling better and that your wrist is healing. God bless you and your furbabies.
They look great. I've not heard of Washi tape.
I have a question what side of your mat do you use the shiny side or the duel side what side it better
Oh, darling! You are the Sparkle 💖!
I love your videos I learn so much. I'm trying to find those molds that are just open on the end and you put them in a flower foam to hold them. U made some just the other night. Can you tell me what they are called? Thank you so much
I have see other people put the washi tape in the mold before adding resin, so the patterned part of the tape shows thru to the front.
I just love black resin with lots of glitter.
Thanks for these ideas !
Thank you for this great video Steve. 😉
oh Steve you warmed my heart! I Love my Washi Tape
Love how thick those letters were I’ll be looking for them
Your mat is so clean what's your secret!!
Spectacularly brilliant!!!!
Awesome steve McDonald
On clear resin pieces, I put washi on BOTH sides.
Such a good idea thanks Steve :)
Verry good idea. I'll try it.
These are so much fun!!! ❤️
The A is my favorite too!💗

Very cute!!
I love your videos. Could you give some info on low and high viscosity resin? Thanks!! You rock!!
For the m you could always just color the background with like a pasta pen or something more opaque and then add a little resin to the top of that that way you wouldn't see the back of the washi tape that you put on there.

I've been wondering for a while what happens when you put resin on washi tape. Very good to know, thank you.
Query: How do you get any excess resin out of your pipette so you can use them more than once? Or are they a single use only? Thanks.
Ive been using washi tape and resin to make earrings. it works very well with wood blanks as well
Steve I would really love to see you do some holographic with resin :)
Love it!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈
On the clear one, you should some the back with glitter and resin so you cannot see the back side of the washi tape!
Resin
Steve I love the way these came out especially the "P" HINT HINT
LoL

Yeah I thought it might
Love these! The tassels are a nice touch!
