Same, only reason I’m going to college is for my parents but I actually have a business and that’s what I plan on doing in my future (which doesn’t require college at all) but I figured might as well major in finance bc it’s beneficial regardless of what you do to be financially educated and I like investing and trading

@@jayden7656 Hello! Congrats on that milestone! The math looks crazy but its pretty simple to understand the equations. As long as you're good with solving and finding ways to solve the answer, you should be fine. Plus with the calculators you use for finance IT MAKES IT easy!
Hey, I was wondering as a female that works in finance do you have any advice/tips for someone like myself soon to graduate with a bachelor's in finance? I'm currently struggling to find the right job without them being all commission-based. Any advice would be truly appreciated it!
Thank you so much it’s nice seeing people like me in this field. I made the decision to major in finance to help me pursue my creative passions and I’ve been feeling stressed because im personally against what the typical person who majors in this believes in. But seeing that a lot of people in the comments are doing this to educate and sustain themselves as well is nice.
I may double major in finance or a finance/accounting joint major w/ Marketing. I love all 3, I’m a current Biology freshman lol. So it’ll be a huge difference, but I start taking business pre-reqs in the Spring and I’m so excited !

So I ended up taking some intro accounting courses and such and personally didn’t like it, so I’m currently majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Marketing Analytics and LOVE IT. I have a *ton* of Finance major friends and some genuinely enjoy it while others are just doing it because of the job prospects after graduation. I do definitely think there are more opportunities with Finance as opposed to Biology, especially if you plan on not going to med school in the future. If you did want to go in the future, you could always major in Finance and do pre-med courses if your school has that. Long story short, if you feel you want to switch, do it! Because that gut feeling doesn’t lie and I’m so glad I switched. ❤️
@@NaKaiJelanii was planing to go into med school but changed my mind. I then switched into computer science and simply hated it. Im very afraid to make another switch but i can’t fathom CS so it’s my only choice. I’ll definitely be considering marketing as i’d only have to specialize after taking intro classes. I work in corporate investment banking, you really need to be passionate about finance to deal with corporate. It’s a lot but I love it! I really want to write for a finance publication. Do not go into finance for the money, you will be miserable. Do it because you love it or at least like it lol.
I'm a senior in high school and I just applied to college with finance as my major! Do you think it's a little bit interesting or is straight-up boring because I'm a person that loves interacting with people but I also like having structure and money lol. @@asmrheaven471 I think you would like it, because the reasons you listed is literally is why I enjoy finance. Also the fact you want to do it because you generally find it interesting will make you a better banker, trader, analyst etc. It’s the people who do it only for a paycheck that either, quit or get fired (which nothing is wrong with that). it’s hard work and there’s a lot of politics involved, but stay true to yourself, believe in yourself,stick up for yourself and work hard. You got this!

It comes down to money or happiness but as harsh as it may sound money will make me happy. But idk I might major in finance and minor in marketing so if I don’t like finance I can just go into marketing.

@@leemari7695 i’m about to be a junior (in college) majoring in finance and haven’t done any of those listed besides basic algebra in my first business math class then you take business calculus , after that i have been doing basic math (adding / subtracting /division / multiplication) oh and stats too. you can do it through excel tho my professors gave me excel formulas

I was a finance major too but literally graduated 3mths before the pandemic and let me tell you the journey has been nothing but hell for me smh. Currently I’m working as a server I’m not passionate about it but at least I’m making some kind of money. I really hope somewhere in my future I’ll find myself back into finance

What is the starting salary for finance majors?
This type of representation is sooo important. People in finance have a typical “look” (stuffy, bland, Patagonia vest on top of white button up, etc) if you know you know. It can be really discouraging not fitting into that mold and when you also have a strong creative side that shows up in your day to day life and appearance, people tend to box you out.
I'm also looking for some insight. Was thinking of studying finance, focusing on capital markets? I get really excited talking about the stock market! What would that be like for me as a single mother of a 9 yr old, and as a Black female in a white male dominated industry?? I feel like I should also mention I'm 30 yrs old, and I have two degrees under my belt: one Bachelors in Studio Art and a pending Associates degree in Fashion Design, come June. I was gonna move onto a Bachelors in FD for the fall, but I'm starting to lose passion I think....or maybe it's just a year in quarantine making me feel that way 🤔 lol

All are good majors. It depends on your career goals if you want to work in investments, insurance, banking then you should choose finance. If you want to become a certified accountant and want to work in taxation, audit, forensic accounting then accounting is for you. If you are creative, you love psychology, you want to innovate new things and persuade people with your advertising skills and branding expertise then marketing is for you!

Program and coding is in business so you have to take those classes before the finance classes
I do love my educated sistas, especially in finance, accounting and business. Calculating PV/FV and Algebra go hand in hand in long hand calculations but thr BA calculator does wonders, as much as in Excel also.

If you major in finance they have a class where they will teach you as wellas CIS( computer information system) classes i has to take two of them in order to take the excel class

I'm stuck. I majored in Finance because my dad convinced me it was a good choice. I graduated this past summer and I honestly believe I made a mistake. I want to get into voice acting. However my mom and my sisters are pressuring to find a job in finance but I just have no passion for it.
Honestly, you can never go jobless with a finance degree because money is everywhere, regardless of the business type. Since you like drama, why don’t you look for acting companies that is looking for a finance position to be filled? And once you have your job, why don’t you enroll in acting? ☺️☺️🌸 best of luck

You know before getting my degree I would ask the same question. Until I started taking pre requisite classes on accounting and finance. That’s when I noticed I found finance super easy and accounting complicated. Some people do both for the challenge. Some are better in one than the other. That will depend on you sweetheart. Just know where there’s will, there’s a way ! You got this :)

I am majoring in finance and took a few accounting courses along the way. I'd say finance is definitely easier as long as your basics in algebra 2 and statistics are solid. The difference between the two, accounting major focuses on accounting courses and maybe core finance courses (depends on where you study), while finance incorporates economics, basic accounting, business admin and finance all in one. Also, finance is more general while accounting focuses on certain standards and systems that they should follow.

i cam across your video today, i am going into finance bachelors too. "going to be a youtuber" SOUND at the start of your video your sound levels are out of wak. LOUD. then your soft and super sweet voice. holy hell you have a sweet voice. you should be a talk youtuber of real life Experiences. level out the sound at the beginning and make it softer. then increase a bit on your voice this would work in the youtuber fashion. I would recommend Devinci Resolve its free. primire for editing can be pricy. Personal Finance consultants are a thing/ teach ing would also be amazing. i wish i had the time to teach. i want to see how you improve so i am going to subscribe and see how you do.

Can you be an accountant with a finance degree?
Yes. You’d have to look at the job requirements though. Some companies are specifically looking for people with accounting degrees but in general, there are people with Finance and Economics degrees that work in Accounting since many companies simply require a degree in Business Admin. Always look into the options for growth at the company as well. Like they can hire you but may not promote you beyond a certain point without the specific degree or the license

How do you get contract jobs?
in my university, we had recruiters come to our classes and tell us about different jobs their hiring at , I'm in Robert Half which is an accounting temp agency. so temp agencies are good if you want short term work and experience. Hope this helped
