  • A suboptimal tree for 2TC but if it's the best tree available it can work!
Many mistakes included, and video cut short before my rappel....new and 100% better one coming next week!

I do 2.TC also, and have an improved system with two bridges on the tree at all times, when you advance top tether and standing on your foot loop you are not attached to the tree, if you slip, and I have had this happen where your foot swings out momentarily you are way off balance and could fall, you are holding the tree with left hand and right leg,but not tied on the tree, maybe think of adding a second bridge and attaching it to your bottom tether for safety, I like your ability to make adjustments to bridge and foot loop in your tethers, I use two JRB friction ascender hitches on each tether, foot loop and leg loop and two bridge to tether connections, The bottom bridge is very short and keeps me close to the tree in case of a slip and it frees up my hands for moving tethers
I used to use the running eye or “girth hitch” to make the loop for the tethers but that can drop and be scary, now I use either the JRB cinch of JRB saddle hunters hitch
Keep on climbing! These methods allow the tether to be moved easily yet once set will not release until you release them, The running eye can get slack drop anytime weight is taken off it

You've not seen my other videos then! I'm always attached with my bridges to both the main and foot tether! Its how I go around branches with just 2 tethers and don't need a third! Also, I used my SNEAK hitch, and its easily releasable without a carabiner or quicklink. The only metal in my system are the 2 carabiners, one to the main tether, and a second from my second bridge to the foot tether with a separate hitch than the footloop attachment! Stay safe and keep climbing!

Im also working on a 2tc system of my own. And i know we shouldnt rush. But according to video it took you almost 18 min or to get to hunting height. If this is average time with experience i believe ill stick with one sticking. I coukd be at same height in about a 3rd of time or littke more and make no more noise than you did. So idk may have to study into this more.

It's probably usually much faster. He completely detaches his tether and reattaches it between moves like you may have to to get over limbs to demonstrate that it can be done efficiently with his system.
